UYS #492

Hi everyone!

I’ve got a card for this week’s challenge from Use Your Stuff. Our theme is borders. You can have top, bottom, side, decorative, plain….whatever tickles your fancy.

Just a simple card using some pieces of the CTMH Deck the Palms line. There are a few Christmas papers but for the most part, this line is great for tropical photos or such.

I used a sticker border from the kit as well as a decorative and plain border from cardstock. I kept this card pretty clean and simple. The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the enamel dots are from Echo Park with a couple of the flower stickers from the collection.

I hope you will play along with us and don’t forget to see what the rest of the Design Team has for you. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome my pretties!  I’m giving you the deets on our new challenge over at Color Crazy….  as always, the theme is anything goes!   Our sponsor this week is Polkadoodles!

I’ve created this card using the Polkadoodles image called “Snowman – Winnie Angel” as well.  I knew for this card I really wanted to go with the traditional red/green color scheme and so I just used some Recollection paper that i had in my stash.  I added some snowflakes that I recently picked up at the $$ store which I just love!  I colored her with my copics and then added a strip of washi and a word sticker to finish it off.  For a little extra fun, I did one edge in a fun border punch.

Your turn!  What are you coloring this week????

The Music Moves Me

Hello one and all! I have a new layout for you today to go along with our new challenge up at Use Your Stuff!  This week’s theme is border punches!

I’ve not been using mine regularly so it was nice to pull them out and play a bit.

My layout today is also the March Scrapbook & Cards Today 365 2018  class.  I must say, now that I have committed to doing these classes, I have been finding my love for scrapbooking again, and it’s a nice change from doing cards all the time.

For this layout I pulled out a kit that I had created several months ago for a crop and just never got around to using.  The papers are from Everyday Circus by Fancy Pants, as well as some Simple Stories and Heidi Swapp mixed in.  My border punch is EK Success (and I had to practically blow the dust off of it!.)

The embellishments stars are cut from the DP and I also used a few embellishement and die cut pieces from October Afternoon’s Saspirilla collection (I’ve been holding onto these for awhile now), and some recollections word chipboard as well as some Recollection word stickers.  The washi tape is just from my stash.

I hope you will play along with us on the blog! Can’t wait to see what you create!

What Was I thinking??

Oh do we have a wickedly fun challenge for you today at Use It Tuesday.  It’s a little thing we call What Was I Thinking??? There are so many ways to interpret this challenge….was it some designer paper that looking back looks so ugly you can’t believe you paid money for it, is it an embellishment that you have no idea how to use, or maybe it was a wacky hairstyle or clothing from when you were a teenager…anyway you look at it, we want to know about it.

For me, it’s all about the flocking!  I had bought a bunch of this in different colors and yet when I used it, it looked really clunky and ugly and didn’t seem quite right.  Then after a little research on You Tube, I realized that I was doing it totally wrong.  Not even close!  Now, I see how fun it is!

I created this card to mail out for a group that I belong to.  We do cards for obscure holidays and mine is Yellow Pig Day 🙂  There are not a lot of embellishments because it has to be mailed out.

The DP is just some little pieces I had left over.  A tad of ribbon and a little border punch.  I hope you like it and I hope you stop by the blog to see the other great projects and to enter this week’s challenge.

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Happy Crafting!

Autumn Thanks

Welcome to another challenge at Penny’s Paper Crafty this week.  Our challenge for you this week is all about layers.  The more the better!

We have lots of sponsors for this week’s challenge which can be found on the blog.

I am highlighting an image from one of sponsors The Stamping Boutique.

They have some great images which can be found in their store here.

I used one of my fun 6×6 packs with lots of fun fall colors-MME All Spice.  It works great!  I cut some strips, and used a couple of different border punches with a strip of ribbon between.  I punched out a bunch of leaves that matched the image (colored with Copics) and just layered them on the bottom like falling leaves.  The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners set with Stampin up and I added just a little bling from my stash.  I hope you like it and feel free to play along with us as well.  We look forward to seeing you.

A gift for you- A digital delights release

It’s a new release day at Digital Delights today and oh are these ever cute~!

Lots of great images to choose from for the holiday season as you get ready to make those Christmas cards!  This time around, I decided to change it up and I made this cute little tag using Nutcracker Kiddles.     He is available colored on non depending on your preference.  I also used the Magical Winter sentiments for this one.

The tag is just from Staples and I went over it with some of my Tim Holtz distress ink.  I used a little bit of DP from Echo Park from some previous projects and a couple of different dies–Stampin Up & Sizzix.  I also used my sizzix embossing folder.  The ribbon, button and pearls are all from my stash.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to stop by the blog for some more great inspiration using these fun new images.  You can also stop by the Delightful Challenges blog and get in on the latest challenge as well.

A birthday wish: Use it Tuesday Challenge #30

Yay! Tuesday!  We have a brand new challenge for you on the Use It Tuesday blog!  It’s so fun and yet hard at the same time…the fun part…USE YOUR SCRAPS…the hard part….NARROWING IT DOWN!  This was really hard for me, so I asked the girls on the DT to help me out by picking a color of scraps to work with because I just have so many…their choice was PURPLE!

And Voila!  Here is my purple card for you!

So I haven’t the foggiest clue where any of that purple DP came from.  It has been in my stash box for so long, it’s not even funny!  The image came from my image box, again, it has been sitting in there forever and was probably part of some swap that I did.  I cut the butterflies out using an old Cuttlebug diecut that I forgot I even had.  I am not even sure I’ve ever used it!  The fibres are from CTMH and I think I bought them when I first started scrapbooking several years ago.  It was my first foray into ribbon…now I’m just a ribbon whore and it has become out of control!  The sentiment is an old rub on that I found in a box.  It’s part of a bunch of birthday rub ons and I’m hoping to create more cards with them.  Bling is from my stash as are the border punch and Spellbinder.  I hope you like this one and make sure you stop by the blog and enter this week’s challenge.  Everyone has some kind of scraps.  Your card doesn’t even have to be fancy…some white space and a few pieces of patterned paper and you are done! Challenge yourself to scrap a certain color like I did, or just close your eyes and pick a piece of paper out and create around it..I’ve been known to do that too.

Entered into these challenges:

cupcake craft challenges: fairytales ( she reminds me of Tinkerbell from Peter Pan)

Paper Playtime: punches and a sentiment

whoopsie daisy challenge: things with wings

Challenges for Everybody: anything goes

the Squirrel and Fox: celebrate the occasion

B is for ………..

Bow!  It’s a new challenge at Lollipop Crafts this week and we (to quote Murray from Sesame Street) want you to bring out your B’s!  It can be bling, bows, boy, blue, brush..whatever you have that begins with the B….  I chose bow.

This card is CAS from one I saw on Prairie Paper and Ink.  She has some great projects and I love checking out her blog.

I finally cracked open my MME DP for this project.  I cut the snowflake out using my Don Juan cartridge on the Cricut and the little peppermint brad I’ve had forever.  The sentiment is an old stamp set I found , the ribbon from the $$ store and used one of my border punches.  I hope you enjoy it!

Make sure you stop by the Lollipop blog to enter our challenge this week and tune in on Thursday when Alanna’s team has the sponsor spotlight for Karber Stamps!

Animal Antics

Happy Friday.  If you are looking for the AIF blog hop please scroll below.

It’s a new challenge at the Poodles Parlour this week. It’s all about the Animal Antics.    Bugaboo

is our great sponsor this week and they gave us the cutest images to work with!  I made this adorable baby card for my DT inspiration this week….

After coloring the image with my copics, I inked around it while in the nestiblility.  The paper and little sentiment is from a Hot Off the Press baby 8×8 pack that I have had forever.  The buttons and the twine from my stash as was the bling.  I received the butterfly in a swap ages ago and am glad I was finally able to use it! A little bit of border punching and voila! I hope you like it.  Please stop by the Poodles Parlour blog to link up your own project for this week’s challenge and for all the details on how you can win from our great sponsor Bugaboo!

Guest DT at PaperCrafting Journey

Thank you to Paper Crafting Journey for having me as their Guest Designer again.

This week there is a sketch challenge!  I don’t do a lot of these so it was fun to give it a shot.  Here is this week’s sketch

and my take on it…I needed to work on some Christmas cards so I thought this sketch would make a nice one.

It’s a bit hard to pinpoint all the supplies I used for this card.  I have this big huge box of Christmas stuff and I just throw everything into there. Some of it is it its original packing and others not, so most of this was part of the NOT catagory.  I do know that the sentiment was done using the tiny type alphas and there’s some baker’s twine from Whisker Graphics on there.  The border punch is Martha Stewart and that’s all I got for you! LOL

I hope you will stop by the blog and play along with this week’s sketch and to check out all the great inspiration from the DT!
