A Merry Layout

It is an Anything But A Card challenge this month on the Christmas Craft Creations blog!

The design team has created some fabulous projects and I have a layout for you!

This layout is a crop picture that my girlfriends and I went to last year! The theme of the crop was Christmas! If I’m thinking correctly the majority of this layout was done using the PhotoPlay Paper Christmas line called O Canada Christmas from 2018 …It has some fun papers and icons..I love the moose.

I also used a few items from my stash. It’s just a really fun page!

I hope that you will create your own Christmas project this month and share it with us on the site!

The Music Moves Me

Hello one and all! I have a new layout for you today to go along with our new challenge up at Use Your Stuff!  This week’s theme is border punches!

I’ve not been using mine regularly so it was nice to pull them out and play a bit.

My layout today is also the March Scrapbook & Cards Today 365 2018  class.  I must say, now that I have committed to doing these classes, I have been finding my love for scrapbooking again, and it’s a nice change from doing cards all the time.

For this layout I pulled out a kit that I had created several months ago for a crop and just never got around to using.  The papers are from Everyday Circus by Fancy Pants, as well as some Simple Stories and Heidi Swapp mixed in.  My border punch is EK Success (and I had to practically blow the dust off of it!.)

The embellishments stars are cut from the DP and I also used a few embellishement and die cut pieces from October Afternoon’s Saspirilla collection (I’ve been holding onto these for awhile now), and some recollections word chipboard as well as some Recollection word stickers.  The washi tape is just from my stash.

I hope you will play along with us on the blog! Can’t wait to see what you create!

Scrappy Classes

I don’t usually make resolutions but this year, the only one I made was to actually do some of the online classes that I had purchased over the last year or so. I have 6 from Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine!

The newest one – SCT-365 2018 is a monthly class where you can do a 2 pg layout as well as a card, designed by some of the biggest and best in the Papercrafting world!

I am so happy to be on track for this year…I’ve done both January and now February!   I’m slowly working through a bunch of photos and kits, the majority of which are from trips so you are going to see a lot of those in the upcoming months!

These classes are super easy to do – with pictures, detailed instructions, free cut files and exclusive sketches!  You can find all the details here!    Give one a try!  You won’t be disappointed and you will be pushing through layouts and cards in no time!

Fall Fun

It is another challenge up at the Use Your Stuff blog today!  It’s Fall Y’all…although here in Calgary, it’s more wintery than fall-y 🙂

I created this layout using some old Hot off The Press papers that I wanted to use up.  I’ve had them forever!  The title is printed off of the internet and the leaves were done with my  EK Success maple leaf punch! (this is one of my favorite punches).   All the rest of the little embellies are from my stash!  I hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to play along with us on the blog this week!20161104_085802

Fun in the Leaves

Ok..so has it really been 2 months since I’ve posted. That tells you how much time I’ve had for scrapping/cardmaking lately!  It seems everything gets busier and busier and yet, I wonder where the heck all my time goes!

Our new challenge is up at Use Your Stuff, our last one for the summer!  It is an anything goes challenges with prizes being given out at the end of the summer, so join in!

While I was at the scrapshotz crop in May, I made this layout of my son in the leaves.  I had realized that I didn’t have any fall pictures of Riley to use up with the tonz of autumn stash I had, so I purposely took pics.  I couldn’t even begin to imagine who made the supplies I’ve used, that tells you how long I’ve had it.

I hope you like it!  I’m hoping to post more over the summer as well!

The Cake.

Been to the Red Carpet Studio blog yet?  You might get hungry if you do!  Our challenge this week is Food!  We are basing our theme this go round on the movie Julie & Julia!

julie and julia

I did a wedding layout this week.  This was our wedding cake.  I had originally wanted it to be blue & green, our colors but Neil disagreed.  So, we went with an all white cake and decorated the table instead.  It turned out great and the cake was delish!!!!20141115_1604031

I hope you will join our challenge this week as we have a prize sponsored by Jack Bear Stamps which is pretty darn cool!

Rub a Dub

Welcome to Tuesday and our new challenge at Use It Tuesday.  Have I told you how much I love being on this DT??? I am just really enjoying using up my stash!  it’s been so long since I’ve bought anything new and I’m slowly working my way through the piles on my desk! 🙂

Today’s challenge is a goodie and I’m sure that almost everyone can relate!  Our challenge is to use an Uninked stamp! Don’t tell me you don’t have one!  I know you do..if you are anything like me, you have several…..

For the layout I created I used an Ali Edwards sentiment stamp set.  I bought it originally to use in my smashbooks, but I think it really works great for this layout!

Here’s my little man just a few months old…

I was just totally in love with this little bathrobe when we first got it! How cute right?? So I used the sentiment stamp set for the banners!  The DP is from my stash of course and although I don’t remember who made it, i do remember that it is actually a DP about a bachelorette party!  I just thought it reminded me of bubbles in a bath 🙂  The thickers and die cuts are from my stash as well and so are the little pearls.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to whip by the blog and check out the great projects the girls have this week…..some really great ones, and to play along as well.

Riley’s First Birthday

Happy Rainy Tuesday….well it’s rainy here anyway.  It’s a brand new challenge at Use It Tuesday this week.  We are all about the guys and focusing on our masculine projects!  Whether you are making a card for that special guy, creating a layout of your favorite manly man or just using manly colors, we want to see it.  Don’t forget we also want to know what your stash-y items are as well.

Here is a layout of Riley’s first birthday.  I mainly used just some scraps for this one.  I have to admit, I’m loving my banner.  I cut it out using my cricut and then used some rub-ons for the letters.

The stickers and the bling are from my stash as well, and the pictures themselves have been hainging around awhile as my son will be celebrating his 4th birthday next month! LOL

Scrapbook Your Heart

This weekend, I participated in one of the most amazing experiences of my life.  I went to Scrapbook Your Heart retreat at Camp Caroline, hosted by Alison Orthner and Christy Riopel.

Ladies, this is an amazing affirmation experience! I highly recommend it to anyone.  I have never cried so much, felt so empowered and cherished and strong as I did surrounded by all these women on this weekend.  I cannot wait until next year and I am going to bring along as many women as I can possibly find with me.

So here are two of the three projects we created.  The first is an altered canvas encompassing all the things that bring us joy.  I loved all the different mixed media aspects we got to use, paints, mod podge, inking, stamping, so fun to get all dirty.  This is mine

This now proudly sits in my living room.  This is the first time I had ever done an altered canvas and I thought that Christy was out of her mind for putting this together, however, once I got into it, it was the most fun that I’ve had in a long time.  I cannot wait to do more.

The other was a fabulous layout designed by our lovely Guest Designer Diana Kennedy.  It has been a long long time since I have done a layout of myself but I am in love with this one!

Behind the picture is an envelope with a personal letter to myself about my life’s journey so far and the one I hope to have going forward.

Again, an amazing weekend with amazing women and I hope that you all have the chance to experience it next year. a

Ribbon Rave Week 6

So here is my last entry for the SavvynSassy ribbon rave challenge.  The challenge this week was to make journalling prominent in the layout and to “WOW them with the ribbon.  Also the journalling had to have a quote.  I used a quote from Psalms 34:18 The color scheme was black & white with one other color..

I chose not to use a photo for this layout because I couldn’t find one to represent what I was feeling after my 1st miscarriage..This poem was sent to me and I thought that it worked.
