2CC – September

Wow! Here we are going into September everyone. Where did the summer go right? Ready for this month’s challenge over at 2 Crafty Critters?? It’s always anything goes as long as you have a critter in there somewhere!

Our sponsor this month is QKR Stampede Digital Stamps.

May be an image of text that says 'QKR Stampede The Somewhat Cute & Somewhat Quirky Rubber & Digi Stamps'

I am using their stamp Being Silly for my new baby card.

I found all this paper pack for babies and I have no idea where it came from but I liked the colors of the pink/purple/green.

I colored him with my copics and then cut him out and cut out a black outline for him, to give some definition. I just wanted to do some simple layers but I did circles and rectangles for some added interest. I brought in that green with the enamel dots from Your Next Stamp and the ribbon from my stash. I pulled the sentiment from my sentiment cup but I think it might be Taylored Expressions.

I hope you like it and can’t wait to see what you create when you play along with us.

Mojo Monday #486

Hello All,

Playing along with Mojo Monday’s sketch today!

This sketch is pretty layer heavy which for me is great because I love layers.

I have a big box of loose papers, some that are mine, and some that I got from swaps and such.  I really wanted to start getting this box down, so I used some papers for this challenge.  I don’t know where they are from as I think I got them in a swap.

I made two cards, basically the same but with a slight variation.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to play along!

Baby Mine…

February is the month of love.  We celebrate love in all its forms and shapes…..one of those is the love a mother has for her child!

I had wanted to have a child for a long time, so when I found out that I was pregnant with my son, my heart began to overflow with love…before he was even born!  I didn’t even know I could love someone so much that I had never met!

This week at Use Your Stuff, we are being inspired by a love song!  The love song that I chose was called Baby Mine by Bette Midler from the Beaches Soundtrack – one of my all time favorite movies!  In the movie, that song is playing as one of the main characters is getting ready for the birth of her baby and they are decorating the nursery…I new I wanted to use it for the inspiration for my layout.

My favorite line is:

                          Baby mine, don’t you cry.
                          Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
Never to part, baby of mine.

The pictures in this layout were taken about a week before my son was born and then about a week after…it felt like I was waiting forever, but oh was he worth it!  He is still one of the things that I love the absolute most in this world!

I hope you will join us on the blog today and see how the other ladies were inspired this week.

A Blessing

Hi Everyone!  I’m back from my annual Cuba vacation, which was perfect of course! Amazing weather and lots of fun!

Time to get busy creating again!  Our challenge this week at Use Your Stuff is to create a project using 3 different patterned papers.  It’s for challenges like this that I love co-ordinating paper from manufactures, and when they are double sided- even better!

As I was doing a monthly challenge on the Scrap Shotz site as well which was to use a themed paper for a non-themed project, I chose some Valentine’s Day papers from My Mind’s Eye.

I’ve had these papers for years and it was finally nice to get them open and used.  I chose them for a new baby layout instead!  I hope you like it and I hope you will join us on the blog and play along.

Beautiful Boy

It’s our first post with our new DT at Use Your Stuff this week!  We are so excited to feature some of our new designers.  I am hosting the challenge this week.  Inspired by a Song.

For my challenge I chose Beautiful Boy by John Lennon.  I am a proud mama.  I love my little guy to death so it’s no wonder that a lot of my layouts feature him.

This layout I used a new technique that was featured on the Cardmaker blog.  A starburst.  It was super easy to do and I thought it turned out really well on my layout.  The DP is from October Afternoon.   The ribbon and wood veneer as well as the thickers are all from my stash.

I hope you will stop by the blog and play along with us!

Oh Baby

Hey Everyone! I’m late in posting this challenge today.  Sorry about that.  Our new one is up at Red Carpet Studio and..WE HAVE A PRIZE AS WELL!!!

Our challenge is based on the movie MARLEY AND ME.  We would like to see you create a project that features an animal!

MARLEY AND ME

Here is a baby card I created.  I love how this turned out.

The image is Stampin Up and the DP is from my stash.  I really like the colors for this and the fact that this card can be used if one does not know if the baby is a boy or girl :).  I hope you will stop by the blog and play along with us for a chance to win a really great prize pack.

Lucky Me

Well, one of my favorite holidays will be coming up soon.  Yep, St. Patrick’s day…love me the green!! 🙂

It kinda ties in with our new challenge at Red Carpet Studio this week.  Our theme is The Lucky One

The_Lucky_One_Poster

the challenge is to create a project a project that signifies Luck…maybe it’s St. Patrick’s day related, or something that is lucky to you or you feel lucky to have.  Even just something green. 🙂

For me, I always feel that I am truly lucky and blessed to have my son.  I had a miscarriage before him, and thought for sure that I would never have another child and lo and behold, luck was on my side, or providence, God’s grace or whatever you believe…I was blessed with the most amazing little man.

Here is a layout from one our first trips to Cuba with little guy…he was small enough to fit in the suitcase (not that he travelled to Cuba that way! 🙂 )

The DP is from Cloud 9 which I think is called Travel.  All the embellishments and journal stickers are from my stash.  I’ve had them so long I don’t remember anymore where they came from 🙂

I hope you like the layout and please play along with us this week.  We can’t wait to see what you create!

Stick it!

Hello all! Welcome to the blog.  Our new challenge is up at Use It Tuesday this week.  It’s all about the stick….adhesive, stickers, tape, anything that sticks down.  We want to see it.

For my project today I made this cute little pregnancy card.

HPIM1301

For my ‘stick’ I used some good old fashioned glue, as well as some double sided tape for my rick rack.  I also added in some adhesive mesh for dimension and a little Glossy Accents to stick down the stars and to add some shine to her head band.  I hope you enjoy this week’s card and be sure to stop by the blog to play along with us this week.  The DT has created some great projects for you to enjoy!  Get your stick on!!!

2x the Hoarded Fun

Hello my lovelies!  As you read this, I am soaking up the sun in Sin City with my BFF for a few days!  Some time away for R&R to refocus and regroup!

We have a fun new challenge for you on the Use It Tuesday blog today.  We want you to rummage through your hoarded items and use at least 2 of them on your project.  I know most of you have more than one, and the real challenge will be in figuring out which two or more, to actually use!

My biggest hoard—Echo Park Product! LOOOOVE IT! DON’T WANT TO USE IT!! However for this challenge I started out slow and broke out my Oh Snap mini kit!  I created this fun layout of my darling Riley at his first birthday party, looking all cute and stuff 🙂

HPIM1246

My hoarded item besides the EP set were some Glitz Button Flare that I’ve had for awhile because I didn’t have anything to go with them, due to the colors….it wasn’t until I went searching for something to go with the paper kit, that I realized these would be perfect.

I hope you enjoy the layout and be sure to stop by the blog and see the great projects and play along with us!

Rub a Dub

Welcome to Tuesday and our new challenge at Use It Tuesday.  Have I told you how much I love being on this DT??? I am just really enjoying using up my stash!  it’s been so long since I’ve bought anything new and I’m slowly working my way through the piles on my desk! 🙂

Today’s challenge is a goodie and I’m sure that almost everyone can relate!  Our challenge is to use an Uninked stamp! Don’t tell me you don’t have one!  I know you do..if you are anything like me, you have several…..

For the layout I created I used an Ali Edwards sentiment stamp set.  I bought it originally to use in my smashbooks, but I think it really works great for this layout!

Here’s my little man just a few months old…

00163

I was just totally in love with this little bathrobe when we first got it! How cute right?? So I used the sentiment stamp set for the banners!  The DP is from my stash of course and although I don’t remember who made it, i do remember that it is actually a DP about a bachelorette party!  I just thought it reminded me of bubbles in a bath 🙂  The thickers and die cuts are from my stash as well and so are the little pearls.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to whip by the blog and check out the great projects the girls have this week…..some really great ones, and to play along as well.
