TMS #724

Oh my gosh! I just love this week’s sketch up on the blog!

It really is perfect if you have just a few pieces of that favorite paper left and you can’t quite throw it out yet!

Look what I created using the Deck the Palms collection from CTMH!

Hard to believe this is a Christmas line right?! All I used was some bits of paper and the sticker sheet. The stamp is from my stash as are the oval dies. I think this is one of my new favorite sketches! It takes like no time at all to knock these cards out. If you need something quick, this is it!

Thanks for stopping by and go check out the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to see what the DT has created for you! Amazing projects!

UYS #492

Hi everyone!

I’ve got a card for this week’s challenge from Use Your Stuff. Our theme is borders. You can have top, bottom, side, decorative, plain….whatever tickles your fancy.

Just a simple card using some pieces of the CTMH Deck the Palms line. There are a few Christmas papers but for the most part, this line is great for tropical photos or such.

I used a sticker border from the kit as well as a decorative and plain border from cardstock. I kept this card pretty clean and simple. The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the enamel dots are from Echo Park with a couple of the flower stickers from the collection.

I hope you will play along with us and don’t forget to see what the rest of the Design Team has for you. Thanks for stopping by!

CCC: August

Hello all! I’m here with your mid challenge reminder for our Christmas Craft Creations August challenge.

Here’s this month’s theme!

Now winter activities could be anything, skiing, skating, ice fishing, decorating a tree…..but what about Reindeer Games! 🙂

I had this really cute stamp set that I got for an online card class (which surprise, surprise, I’ve not done yet, and it was from last November!), and it’s from Close To My Heart. I thought it would be really fun to do a bit of a different take on the theme. I stamped out the stamp and sentiment using inks from my Tim Holtz Distress inks and some stampin up as well. The DP is from my stash and I die cut a couple of ovals to set off that image a little bit. I added a few iridescent crystals to finish it off.

Head on over to the blog to play along and win this month’s prize. (Just remember you need to include out monthly theme image as well as a link back to the blog to be entered to win).

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Blowing the Dust off the Gel Press

Ready for day 3 of my Spring Card Class? We were doing some gel press techniques. I have to be honest. I’ve had a gel press for about 6 years ( a gift in my goodie bag from a crop I attended) and this is the first time I’ve used it. I have no idea why I never used it before as it really is a lot of fun and it’s so unique!

We paired the gel press with some embossing as well, again something that I don’t do near enough (although it did make me realize I don’t have any clear embossing powder in my stash….say what???? )

I needed some birthday cards to send out, so I focused on that sentiment but really mixed and matched here.

The left card is using some Gina K stamps and sentiment (you’ve seen this set before from another online class I did last year), with a Plaid Crafts stencil to add an extra layer of texture to the gel pressed panel.

On the right we have some gel press and watercoloring and it is paired with a stamp and die set from SCT delivered online (this is part of an online card class from the spring that I haven’t finished yet so stay tuned for another card with this set). This one I brayed the watercolored ink and then added the panel onto the gel press. It gave me some lighter and darker parts, which I think adds some great interest to this card. I did some gold embossing and I love the gold on this!

Our flat card, which was actually my first gel press panel, I cut out the flowers using a CTMH stamp and die set (again from a previous online card class) which had been heat embossed with some gold embossing powder.

The inks were from Your Next Stamp for this one. I went with some pink/purple/teal combo, which is a little out of my wheelhouse but I love it with the gold embossing!

Get out your gel press and have some fun with it! There is no right or wrong way ( I even left a little ink on mine for the next batch).

Stamping with CTMH

Today’s second class was with Jill Broadbent of Close To My Heart and we learned some fun new stamping techniques. This is a really pretty stamp and die set that we were gifted with! It’s very spring like isn’t it!

These cards were super easy to make but with the extra time spent in the stamping, it really sets them off!

Happy Easter!

Hello everyone!.  Can you believe it is Daylight Savings this weekend?  Then right around the corner is Spring! Weeeee!!  The DT at Sunsational Stamps is going to be highlighting some of our fun Easter and Spring Stamps for you over the next week or so, to get you into the mood for nicer weather and all the buds and flowers blooming…Saying goodbye to winter for yet another year.

Today I am using this cute little bunny and egg image.  He’s just so adorable!  He may not be in the store yet, but he’s definitely going to be made available asap for you to use!
Lots of fun spring colors on this card and my favorite–layers 🙂  A little bit of stickles for the nose and the egg stripes 🙂 I colored him with my copics and then did some chalking in the background.   The DP is from Hot off the Press.  The flowers are $$ store and the sentiment is from Michaels.  My little bit of fringe is from CTMH.   Just because I’m really into them right now, a few little sequins to finish off the flowers. I hope you enjoy him and don’t forget to shop at the store to get started on your Easter and Spring cards!!

Your Funny Face!

Ahh Monday!  Back to the grind after a wonderful weekend away at our farm.  Our new DT member Anne has a new challenge for you this week at Use Your Stuff.  So easy, you have to play along.  All you have to do is use some patterned paper!  You can do that right!

Here’s a layout of Riley using some old CTMH paper that I’ve had since I think I started scrappin’ years ago.  I think it is called Superstar.  I love the boy colors!

I had a few scraps of some sheets from a previous project and they were perfect to highlight as banners on the main page.  I hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to play along with us on the blog.  We would love to see what you create!

Critter Birthday

As Friday is upon us, it is another new challenge at Creative Card Challenges.  Our theme this week is ‘Cute Critters’.  We would like to see projects with the cutest little animals you can find…..

Here is my card using a CTMH stamp set that I’ve had for a long time.

I think he’s just adorable.  I apologize for the bad lighting.  I’ve had technical difficulties with my camera today and had to go to the backup.  I wanted to do a fairly simple card as this will be mailed for a friends birthday.  I did some paper piecing for the balloons.  I hope you like it and please stop by the blog and link up to this week’s challenge.

A birthday wish: Use it Tuesday Challenge #30

Yay! Tuesday!  We have a brand new challenge for you on the Use It Tuesday blog!  It’s so fun and yet hard at the same time…the fun part…USE YOUR SCRAPS…the hard part….NARROWING IT DOWN!  This was really hard for me, so I asked the girls on the DT to help me out by picking a color of scraps to work with because I just have so many…their choice was PURPLE!

And Voila!  Here is my purple card for you!

So I haven’t the foggiest clue where any of that purple DP came from.  It has been in my stash box for so long, it’s not even funny!  The image came from my image box, again, it has been sitting in there forever and was probably part of some swap that I did.  I cut the butterflies out using an old Cuttlebug diecut that I forgot I even had.  I am not even sure I’ve ever used it!  The fibres are from CTMH and I think I bought them when I first started scrapbooking several years ago.  It was my first foray into ribbon…now I’m just a ribbon whore and it has become out of control!  The sentiment is an old rub on that I found in a box.  It’s part of a bunch of birthday rub ons and I’m hoping to create more cards with them.  Bling is from my stash as are the border punch and Spellbinder.  I hope you like this one and make sure you stop by the blog and enter this week’s challenge.  Everyone has some kind of scraps.  Your card doesn’t even have to be fancy…some white space and a few pieces of patterned paper and you are done! Challenge yourself to scrap a certain color like I did, or just close your eyes and pick a piece of paper out and create around it..I’ve been known to do that too.

Entered into these challenges:

cupcake craft challenges: fairytales ( she reminds me of Tinkerbell from Peter Pan)

Paper Playtime: punches and a sentiment

whoopsie daisy challenge: things with wings

Challenges for Everybody: anything goes

the Squirrel and Fox: celebrate the occasion

Christmas Cards

So my mom commissioned me to create her Christmas cards this year.  The only stipulation was that they had to have a religious theme to them.  So this is what I came up with.  There are 3o cards based on the same image (Inkadinkado’s Mother & Child) and CTMH Card Chatter Christmas for the inside (Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth, peace, goodwill towards men).  She loves them, and so do I!

Christmas cards for mom!
