6×6 Paper Sketch Class Week #7

Ok, obviously we aren’t on week 7 and I am way behind but here is the layout for that week. 🙂

This is week 7 of Allison Davis’ @allisondavis4sg sketch for 6×6 paper pads class from @scrapbook_generation .

I’m pretty sure I’ve not ever used this many hexagons before, lol.

I finished up my @sctmagazine sampler from December 2018 using the @pinkfreshstudio Holiday Vibes collection. I used some Thickers and some small alphas also from @pinkfreshstudio. Most of the little cluster embellishments were just from my stash.

Allison Davis 6×6 Paper Class

OK…

So I’ve done up to week 6 of Allison Davis’ 6×6 Paper Class, which for me is pretty significant. LOL Going by past experience, I’ve bought lots of classes and not even started them yet.

Here is week #4

I did this while vacationing at the farm, so I think that this is using one of my samplers. I’m not sure which one it was. I didn’t have a lot of embellishments with this one left so I like to cut out parts of the papers to use as embellies.

Week #5

This is week #5 using the O Canada collection from Photoplay Paper. Now for this one, I decided to use full sheets of paper and cut them down to the 6×6 size because I really wanted to use this paper line for these pictures. I used embellishments from the collection on this and some of my own mini alphas and thickers.

And finally sketch #6

I like this sketch and it is using the February SCT sampler from 2018 and the My Mind’s Eye Splendor Collection and probably some of the Color Fresh collection from Heidi Swapp in the same sampler.

I love these samplers, and look, you can do some great layouts with just the few pieces that you get in the sampler. I added some of my own embellishments and my own thickers, but I am a big fan of using some of the papers to cut out the images and use them as embellishments as well.

This Moment

So I signed up the for Sketches for 6×6 Paper Pads by Allison Davis for Scrapbook Generation. It’s a 20 week course that helps you to use of those 6×6 Paper Pads, who, if you are like me, have tonz of! Not only in paper pad form but I also have a lot of SCT samplers which all have 6×6 papers in there!

Today is actually the beginning of week 2 and I finally got finished week 1.

I used the September 2018 SCT Sampler which highlights Field Notes by Vicki Boutin for American Crafts. It also has some Well, Hello from American Crafts.

Using a picture of my husband and I in San Francisco a couple of years ago, I really like how this turned out, and it is quite out of my usual style which I think is great! I managed to use up most of the Field Notes collection for this which was a plus!

You should check out the Scrapbook Generations blog and maybe check out one of the free sketches there for you to branch out of your own style and use up some of those 6x6s that are just not getting used fast enough! I’d love for you to leave me a link and I’ll come see what you create!

A Merry Layout

It is an Anything But A Card challenge this month on the Christmas Craft Creations blog!

The design team has created some fabulous projects and I have a layout for you!

This layout is a crop picture that my girlfriends and I went to last year! The theme of the crop was Christmas! If I’m thinking correctly the majority of this layout was done using the PhotoPlay Paper Christmas line called O Canada Christmas from 2018 …It has some fun papers and icons..I love the moose.

I also used a few items from my stash. It’s just a really fun page!

I hope that you will create your own Christmas project this month and share it with us on the site!

Use Your Stuff & Double Trouble Collaboration

On the Use Your Stuffblog today, we are teaming up with Double Trouble Challenges to bring you a double dose of fun!

So the Use Your Stuff challenge is MASCULINE OR FATHER’S DAY.  It’s also one of the challenges on Double Trouble and they have added an extra element of adding a round element to your project as well.  So when you are creating keep those in mind and you can link to both challenges!  Double Trouble also has a random draw so the more of their challenge concepts you use, the more chances to win!

I’m sharing with you a layout of my son and his best friend that was taken a few years ago.  They were just being silly like they do when they are together!

buddies

It’s funny to use pink and flowers on a boy layout but I actually liked how this turned out!

The DP is from My Mind’s Eye.  I added some chicken wire from Stampin Up and I think a few little embellishments from my stash that might be from various other collections.

I cut the title out using my Cricut.

Come play along with us and with Double Trouble…looking forward to seeing what you create!

Our challenge for you this week is called ” We All Love a Little Metal Now and Then”.  In case you didn’t guess, the challenge is to use metal on your project!

Here’s mine

dav

These photos were from the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival from 2016.  It’s was an 80s theme – right up my alley!  I used a bunch of different papers from my stash, as well as a ticket that I created at Crop & Create 3 years ago from Vicki Boutins Layers class! I thought the colors worked with this layout!.  My metal component are some metal brads in my clusters, as well as a cute little metal clip!  I’ve not used brads in awhile, so it was nice to break them out again!

This layout was also created for my August SCT 365 Class!  I’ve missed a few months so I’m going to be working  backward a bit to catch up!

I hope you like the layout.  Don’t forget to stop by the blog here to play along with this week’s challenge.

If you are interested in the Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine’s 356 Class you can check out the deets here.

Hello Walt

Hello Monday Peeps!  Have you stopped by the UYS blog today? Our new challenge is up!  This week we are using triangles!

So I decided to go with a layout today because I really wanted to try a background die cut.  I came across this one from Bits and Pieces .   which I uploaded to my Cricut Explore Air and then cut out.   I thought it would be fun to do a Disney Layout and back the pieces with my Disney papers.  The actual diecut is called Shattered Glass but it has some fun triangle pieces to it.

dav

I used DP from Simple Stories & Echo Park, as well as their embellishments.  The sentiments are die cuts from Stampin Up and the internet.

I hope you like the layout and feel free to stop by the blog and play along with this week’s challenge!

The Music Moves Me

Hello one and all! I have a new layout for you today to go along with our new challenge up at Use Your Stuff!  This week’s theme is border punches!

I’ve not been using mine regularly so it was nice to pull them out and play a bit.

My layout today is also the March Scrapbook & Cards Today 365 2018  class.  I must say, now that I have committed to doing these classes, I have been finding my love for scrapbooking again, and it’s a nice change from doing cards all the time.

mde

For this layout I pulled out a kit that I had created several months ago for a crop and just never got around to using.  The papers are from Everyday Circus by Fancy Pants, as well as some Simple Stories and Heidi Swapp mixed in.  My border punch is EK Success (and I had to practically blow the dust off of it!.)

The embellishments stars are cut from the DP and I also used a few embellishement and die cut pieces from October Afternoon’s Saspirilla collection (I’ve been holding onto these for awhile now), and some recollections word chipboard as well as some Recollection word stickers.  The washi tape is just from my stash.

I hope you will play along with us on the blog! Can’t wait to see what you create!

Scrappy Classes

I don’t usually make resolutions but this year, the only one I made was to actually do some of the online classes that I had purchased over the last year or so. I have 6 from Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine!

The newest one – SCT-365 2018 is a monthly class where you can do a 2 pg layout as well as a card, designed by some of the biggest and best in the Papercrafting world!

I am so happy to be on track for this year…I’ve done both January and now February!   I’m slowly working through a bunch of photos and kits, the majority of which are from trips so you are going to see a lot of those in the upcoming months!

These classes are super easy to do – with pictures, detailed instructions, free cut files and exclusive sketches!  You can find all the details here!    Give one a try!  You won’t be disappointed and you will be pushing through layouts and cards in no time!
