It is another challenge up at the Use Your Stuff blog today! It’s Fall Y’all…although here in Calgary, it’s more wintery than fall-y 🙂
I created this layout using some old Hot off The Press papers that I wanted to use up. I’ve had them forever! The title is printed off of the internet and the leaves were done with my EK Success maple leaf punch! (this is one of my favorite punches). All the rest of the little embellies are from my stash! I hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to play along with us on the blog this week!
Hey there! It’s a new challenge from our new DT member Beth on the Use Your Stuff blog! Her challenge is to use your favorite punches on your project.
I have this heart punch that I bought at a garage sale years ago for like a dime! It’s one of my favorites because it just adds a pop of color to a layout or card…just a little finishing touch.
Here is my layout for you this week. I have been trying to use up the kits that I have and have been putting together and this one is made from the Yes, Please line from Amy Tangerine for American Crafts! I love the colors in this line!
Be sure to stop by the blog and join in on the fun!
February is the month of love. We celebrate love in all its forms and shapes…..one of those is the love a mother has for her child!
I had wanted to have a child for a long time, so when I found out that I was pregnant with my son, my heart began to overflow with love…before he was even born! I didn’t even know I could love someone so much that I had never met!
This week at Use Your Stuff, we are being inspired by a love song! The love song that I chose was called Baby Mine by Bette Midler from the Beaches Soundtrack – one of my all time favorite movies! In the movie, that song is playing as one of the main characters is getting ready for the birth of her baby and they are decorating the nursery…I new I wanted to use it for the inspiration for my layout.
My favorite line is:
Baby mine, don’t you cry. Baby mine, dry your eyes. Rest your head close to my heart, Never to part, baby of mine.
The pictures in this layout were taken about a week before my son was born and then about a week after…it felt like I was waiting forever, but oh was he worth it! He is still one of the things that I love the absolute most in this world!
I hope you will join us on the blog today and see how the other ladies were inspired this week.
Hi Everyone! I’m back from my annual Cuba vacation, which was perfect of course! Amazing weather and lots of fun!
Time to get busy creating again! Our challenge this week at Use Your Stuff is to create a project using 3 different patterned papers. It’s for challenges like this that I love co-ordinating paper from manufactures, and when they are double sided- even better!
As I was doing a monthly challenge on the Scrap Shotz site as well which was to use a themed paper for a non-themed project, I chose some Valentine’s Day papers from My Mind’s Eye.
I’ve had these papers for years and it was finally nice to get them open and used. I chose them for a new baby layout instead! I hope you like it and I hope you will join us on the blog and play along.
Paper: Be Loved & Love Me Do: My Minds Eye
Vellum sentiment: DCWV
Embellishments: Ribbon, sequins – Michaels, Clear Date Piece – Little Yellow Bicycle, Hearts & Brads – My Stash
It is our first challenge of the new year at Use Your Stuff and I went old school for this one. The challenge was to use tags on your project and I found some bits and pieces in my stash…die cuts, scraps, transparencies and decided to go with this layout. I don’t often do double page layouts, but one of my challenges for this year is to use up my stash and a double layout will definitely help me do that! It just has some simple stamping and inking. I haven’t found pictures to put into it yet….it feels vintage to me, so I need to find some of my old pics and see what I can pop in there.
I hope you like it and will join us at UYS this week and play along!
It’s another great challenge at Red Carpet Studio this week. Now I’m not a big sports movie fan, but I will admit, that I do like this one!
Today’s challenge is inspired by the movie FIELD OF DREAMS.
An Iowa corn farmer, hearing voices, interprets them as a command to build a baseball diamond in his fields; he does, and the Chicago Black Sox come.
THE CHALLENGE: Create your own Field of Dreams. In other words, create a unique background for your page. Use stamps, ink, paint, pieces of paper, anything BUT a single piece of patterned paper or plain card stock.

Here is what I created for you this week
For the back ground I spritzed it with some glimmer mists and then used some of my texture paste and stensil for the hearts. I added some droplets of alcohol ink as well. The sentiment I cut out using my Create a Critter cartridge for my cricut. The flowers, wood veneers, and the clip as well as the doily were all just from my stash. I hope you like it and don’t forget to play along with us on the blog this week for your chance to win a great prize from this week’s sponsor.
