Oh my gosh! I just love this week’s sketch up on the blog!

It really is perfect if you have just a few pieces of that favorite paper left and you can’t quite throw it out yet!

Look what I created using the Deck the Palms collection from CTMH!

Hard to believe this is a Christmas line right?! All I used was some bits of paper and the sticker sheet. The stamp is from my stash as are the oval dies. I think this is one of my new favorite sketches! It takes like no time at all to knock these cards out. If you need something quick, this is it!

Thanks for stopping by and go check out the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to see what the DT has created for you! Amazing projects!

Hi everyone!

I’ve got a card for this week’s challenge from Use Your Stuff. Our theme is borders. You can have top, bottom, side, decorative, plain….whatever tickles your fancy.

Just a simple card using some pieces of the CTMH Deck the Palms line. There are a few Christmas papers but for the most part, this line is great for tropical photos or such.

I used a sticker border from the kit as well as a decorative and plain border from cardstock. I kept this card pretty clean and simple. The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the enamel dots are from Echo Park with a couple of the flower stickers from the collection.

I hope you will play along with us and don’t forget to see what the rest of the Design Team has for you. Thanks for stopping by!

Hey everyone, guess what? It’s my sketch choice up on the blog at Tuesday Morning Sketches today.

I picked this one, because it’s so simple and really, you can use just one piece of 6×6 double sided paper and some focal image or embellishment and voila, you are done. You could literally make this in 5 mins!

So this was my first card back in February of last year!

Here’s today’s for you!

So an interesting note. I created the second card first and then went back to find the first one for this post. I was surprised at how similar the two are! 🙂 I used one piece of 6×6 paper that was tucked in with a birthday card that I was given to make this card. I die cut some cardstock circles to match. The sentiment is just from my stash and the vellum leaves are Stampin Up. A few enamel dots and gems from my stash and this is ready to go!

Be sure to head to the blog for the rest of the DT showcases and I can’t wait to see what you create too!

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile, but I’m back today and I’ve got a new old challenge for you from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

It’s time for the year in review where the DT picks their favorite sketches of the year and we create all new projects!

Our sketch this week comes from Donna!

Donna chose sketch #659 for her favorite.

This was the card I made then from a Scrapbook & Cards Today Sampler.

Here is today’s card, surprise! Made from another sampler!

I used papers and cut outs from the August 2020 sampler, which had product from Pink Paislee’s 5th & Monaco collection and the Kate and Ash collection from Simple Stories. The sentiment is from my stash and the enamel dots are Simple Stories.

I hope you like it, and be sure to come play along with us this week over on the blog. The DT has created some great projects for you to see!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Have a look on the Make the Cards Challenge blog…did you see our newest theme?

I know my friends south of us will be celebrating their Thanksgiving this month so it’s only fitting that our theme be thankful!

I’ve been playing with this Carta Bella autumn sticker book. I just love it, so I thought I would use some of the stickers along with some paper from Simple Stories’ Autumn Splendor!

I hope you like it, and don’t forget to play along with us on the blog!

Good Morning everyone! Welcome to this week’s challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches….ready? Here we go!

I had some fun with this one!

I was playing with the left over bits from a sampler that had been sitting on my desk. I think that this is Carta Bella Floral Market. I love this collection! It’s so pretty. I’m not sure if my big floral is part of the collection but it was in the same bag and so I fussy cut them out to make a focal point for this one. I just added some confetti from Studio Katia and enamel dots and big bold dots to finish it off.

I hope you enjoy the card and be sure to stop by the TMS blog for the great inspiration that the Design Team has come up with for this sketch! Be sure to play along!

It’s getting spooky on the Make the Cards Challenge blog today! Our new theme is up, and you guessed it —HALLOWEEN is what we are going with!

I was just using some bits and pieces from my Halloween box for this one. I knew I wanted to use that NEVERMORE tag as my focal point. So I just started grabbing bits and bobs that I thought would layer well for work with the card. I really like how this turned out!

The DT has put together some really great projects for you to see on the blog. They know how to do spooky right!

Stop by and play along with us…we can’t wait to see your spooky or cute projects

Are you ready for this week’s challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches?

We’ve got an easy sketch but a twist this go round is to add an animal to it!

I found a Simple Stories fall collection in one of my boxes and I thought that this little hedgehog was adorable. So I used some of the stickers from the sheet to go with it for that little blue border and the sentiment. I also added just a few enamel dots for a little bit of color.

Make sure you head to the blog to play along with us this week. Can’t wait to see what critters you have for us to see!

Check out this lovely sketch for this week’s challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

So I’m jumping on the autumn/Christmas bandwagon here and created a fall themed card, even though I’m desperately trying to hold onto the last remnants of summer!

I started out with the paper. I received it in a swap and thought it was really nice and so I used that to inspire my card. I added a strip of gold glitter paper from my stash and then the tree is from a cricut die cut that I did awhile ago and sits in my fall box. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions, and then some enamel dots from my stash to finish it off. I also added a layer of brown twine just for something extra.

Be sure to stop by the blog and check out the amazing projects from the rest of the DT and be sure to play along with us! We can’t wait to see what you create!

Online Card Class

So, as you know I’m a fan of card classes. I’ve taken a lot, some I’ve finished, some I’m still working on.

I recently signed up for the Spring Card Camp 2022 hosted by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire as part of their Online Card Class Series. I really enjoyed this class and I learned a lot of techniques. There are a ton of classes on their website, something sure to tickle everyone’s fancy. I have a few more in mind once I get this one done and the cardstock one that I signed up for!

The class has since finished and I’m only on the third one, but that’s the great thing about it being online, one can go at their own pace as time allows.

So our first lesson was about Ink Lifting. A simple technique that has a lot of punch and one that I don’t do near enough (all of these classes really take your cards to the next level). We used stencils, heat embossing, distress inks and then some fun embellishing.

Here are the some cards I created for this class!

So for this one, I used a stencil from Vicki Boutin and some distress inks in some oranges and pinks. The butterflies and sentiment strip are from Brutus Monroe (which I got in a different online card class with SCT). I thought it would be fun to dip them in some gold embossing powder, which I’ve not done in forever!

The happy is from Stampin Up as well and I die cut it in white and then glued it to some vellum and cut it out. I added a few gold Nuevo Drops as well. I really like how this turned out.

Entered into these challenges:

Crafty Gals: Anything Goes

Through the Craft Room Door: Anything Goes

We Love to Create : Anything Goes Mixed Media

This is the other card I created with the challenge! I love the colors in this one. I used a stampin up stencil for the background. The Yippee is a die from my stash as is the sentiment strip, which was stamped, embossed and then die cut out. I punched out some leaves in some teal glitter paper to set it off and added a few pink enamel dots.

Entered into these challenges:

Crafting Happiness: Anything Goes

Everybody Art Challenge: Glitter or pearls

Love to Scrap : Anything Goes

Dream Valley: Summer Colors

Simon Says Stamp: Bright and cheerful

That’s week 1. Very fun and some great techniques that just add a lot of visual interest in my cards I think. Stay tuned for more cards as I progress through this class!
