4 Crafty Chicks Guest Designer

I am so excited to start my month as the guest designer for 4 Crafty Chicks this week.  It is going to be such fun and I know you are going to enjoy the challenges coming up 🙂

To start off, we have a color challenge for you!  Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, River Rock  (burgundy, dark green, pale green, dark brown )

4 Crafty Chicks CC_2-001

At first I thought that these colors would be hard to work with but surprisingly it was pretty easy and they really go great together!

Here is the card I made.  I got my inspiration for this card from Pinterest (which I have been spending a lot of time on lately) and I used up all the stamps in my French Foliage stamp set from Stampin Up (which is also a challenge from the Stamp It Card Challenges magazine).

HPIM1314

I really liked how this turned out.  I added some distressing as well as some twine and a clip  for some dimension.   I decided I didn’t want to put a sentiment on this card because I wanted to either a) add the sentiment later for whatever I wanted to use the card for or b) just send it as a blank for anything card.   I hope you like it and please don’t forget to play along with us at 4 Crafty Chicks this week.  We would love to see what you do with these colors!

Guest DT at PaperCrafting Journey

Thank you to Paper Crafting Journey for having me as their Guest Designer again.

This week there is a sketch challenge!  I don’t do a lot of these so it was fun to give it a shot.  Here is this week’s sketch

and my take on it…I needed to work on some Christmas cards so I thought this sketch would make a nice one.

It’s a bit hard to pinpoint all the supplies I used for this card.  I have this big huge box of Christmas stuff and I just throw everything into there. Some of it is it its original packing and others not, so most of this was part of the NOT catagory.  I do know that the sentiment was done using the tiny type alphas and there’s some baker’s twine from Whisker Graphics on there.  The border punch is Martha Stewart and that’s all I got for you! LOL

I hope you will stop by the blog and play along with this week’s sketch and to check out all the great inspiration from the DT!

Happy Grandparent’s Day!

So I was kindly asked to be a guest designer at Creative Craft World challenge blog and I was so excited!  This week’s great challenge is being sponsored by Bugaboo! Love Bugaboo!

Bugaboo has graciously offered a prize of 7 digtial stamps to the winner! Who wouldn’t love that!

This week’s theme is grandparents! I think that this is the first time I have come across this in a challenge so it was really great to make something! I decided to make a card that my son could give to his grandparents.  A big thank you to Paul Ford from Bugaboo for his great tutorial on this tent card.  It was sooo simple, and he also used the same image that I had been given for this challenge.

Here’s what I created

I am really happy with how this turned out!  The paper came to me in a paper swap from Swap-Bot.  I created this card around the paper– I was drawn to it right off of the bat.  The image was colored with my copics  and then chalked for a bit more dimension and the ribbon is SavvynSassy.  I printed out the sentiment and the poem from the internet and the bling was just from my stash! I hope you like it and don’t forget to play along with the challenge this week!

It’s Magical

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend!  It’s Monday so I have another challenge for you as the Guest Designer over at Craft Your PassionThis week the theme is ‘It’s Magical’.  So we would like to see your creations of magical things, fairies, dragons, cupids, angels, anything that has a magical aspect to it!  All of the challenge details, including the link for your project and prize information can be found here.

For my card, I was given an image from CocoDingo.

The image is colored with Copics and I added a bit of stickles to the wings for some texture and sparkle.  the DP is from my stash and I added a bit of paper punching to it.  The rikrak is SavvynSassy.  The jute is from the $$ store and the button I received as part of a swap.  I finished the sentiment with some tiny type letters.  I hope you like this and don’t forget to enter your own card/project into the CYP challenge.

I’ve entered this into the following challenges:

I’m so excited

I have been asked to be the guest designer for June at CRAFT YOUR PASSION!.

I want to thank them for this great opportunity and I am very excited to be joining them this month.

So today is the first Monday of the month and that means that it is an anything goes challenge!  Who doesn’t love those!  Create what you want and show it off.  All of the challenge details including prizes can be found here.   So for my first challenge with CYP, I am using a great image from Lauretta.  If you remember about a year or so back, I created a card with the saying ‘a true friend tells you about the toilet paper stuck to your shoe’.  I really love this saying and I totally know that my BFF would not only tell me, she would probably try and pick it up herself..LOL  When I saw this image, that saying was the first thing that popped into my mind to put with it.

I used some scraps of the Bo Bunny Gabrielle that I had left over from a layout that I did for Scrapbook Your Heart.  I inked the image with some distress ink and then I colored it with my Copics, followed by some bling action in the form of my stickles and glitter.  The ribbon (Savvy n Sassy) and pearls are from my stash and the toilet paper is well, from my bathroom 🙂 and I attached it with some adhesive.  I hope that you enjoy my card and don’t forget to join us at Craft Your Passion with your own creation.  The rest of the design team has created some fantastic inspiration pieces for you so you don’t want to miss out on that!

I’ve entered this card into the following challenges:

Round and Round with Sarah Hurley

So this is my last week as Guest Designer on the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog.  I have had a great time and just want to thanks Sarah and her great DT for having me.  It has been a blast!  This week, the theme is round cards!  Now I’ll admit, I don’t make a lot of them, but they really are a nice change from the traditional shape & size.  Here is the one I created using the Mad Hatter from Sarah’s Wonderland CD which you can find more information for on the blog~

I actually cut it out using my Cricut cartridge and then used the same cartridge to cut out the yellow circles as well.  I printed out the mad hatter and his little hats and then just cut them and added pop dots and a bit of inking.  The poem Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat, I just printed off the internet.  I added a bit of button and a bit of bling from my stash as well.

Make sure you stop by the blog and leave your love for the rest of the DT, they really have some great projects for you this week!]

Thanks again to Sarah for having me!

Eat, Drink and be Merry

Ahh …what a great thought!  I’ve been sick for about a week now, so the thought of eating and drinking anything really doesn’t appeal to me…however, it’s a food and drink theme on the Sarah Hurley Challenge  blog this week, where as you know, I am this month’s guest designer!  So bring out your best creations and enter to win!  Go here to enter!

And Voila! here is this week’s card which I love.

I used some of Sarah’s cupcake DP for this one…I rarely use digital paper, but I totally thought that this was so cute!  She also has some matching sprinkle paper to go with it, so make sure you check out her store as well!

DP: Sarah Hurley (cupcake)

Borders: from my stash received in a swap

Ribbon: from my stash

Bling: received in a swap

Rub On’s: Kaiser

Chipboard cupcake: Basic Grey (nook & pantry)

I hope you like it…

I’ve entered into the following challenges:

For Fun Challenges: Happy Birthday

Papertake Weekly: Putting on the Glitz

Stamping Vacation: No! No! No! (flowers)

Whoopsy Daisy: Free & Easy

Digi Doodle: Anything Goes (digital paper used)

This month I’m the Guest Designer…..

over on the Sarah Hurley Challenge blog!

I’m very excited and thrilled to be a part of Sarah’s team this month and I hope you will stop by each week, to check out what I have created and also the other DT member’s as well.  They are a bunch of creative ladies and they have such wonderful works of inspiration for you.

So this week’s challenge is Die Cuts! I love die cuts…It gives me a chance to use not only my cricut and my cuttlebug, but also those diecuts that I get in swaps, or I buy from my LSS with the hopes of using them one day.

This week I am using some butterfly diecuts that I got in a swap a few months ago.  I thought they would be perfect for this challenge and to go with the Cloud digital paper that Sarah has!  It is part of her Wonderland CD and wow, some of the stuff she has on this is amazing! You can find out more about it here.  I also used one of her little sentiments.  You get a whole sheet of them including thank you, sorry, birthday and blank as well…another great thing to have for a quick card sentiment!

I hope you like the card and feel free to leave your comments.  Don’t forget to stop by Sarah’s blog too and see what the rest of the DT has created for you!
