TMS #674

Check out this lovely sketch for this week’s challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

So I’m jumping on the autumn/Christmas bandwagon here and created a fall themed card, even though I’m desperately trying to hold onto the last remnants of summer!

I started out with the paper. I received it in a swap and thought it was really nice and so I used that to inspire my card. I added a strip of gold glitter paper from my stash and then the tree is from a cricut die cut that I did awhile ago and sits in my fall box. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions, and then some enamel dots from my stash to finish it off. I also added a layer of brown twine just for something extra.

Be sure to stop by the blog and check out the amazing projects from the rest of the DT and be sure to play along with us! We can’t wait to see what you create!

C4G #204 – Autumn/Leaves

Fall is here, although if you are where I am it’s starting to look more like winter **shudder**.

Cardz4Guyz challenge is up!  Our theme this week is Autumn/Leaves, so an autumn card or one that shows leaves as your prominent focus!

I’ve pulled out my autumn box of scrappy goodness to play with over the next few weeks.  In it I found these cute little trees that I had cut out last year for a swap and had some left overs so I thought it would be perfect for this challenge!

I did it on my Cricut Explore Air from the Create a Critter 2 set.  Very cute set!  The DP is just from my stash, I received it in a swap last year so I thought it went perfectly with the tree.  I punched out a bunch of little leaves to go across the bottom and popped them with some pop dots.  The sentiment is a Jenn Hadfield for Pebbles sticker and then I added some Nuvo drops in red to finish it off.

I am excited to do some fall projects  over the next little while because I just love the colors!  Be sure to stop by the blog to see what the rest of the DT has created to inspire you and hope to see your creation in the link up!

C4G -Bugz!

Hello one and all!  Did you head on over to the Cardz 4 Guyz blog yet!  It’s a great challenge…It’s all about the bugs!

Get out those images or pics of your favorite creepy crawlies and let us see them!  Absolutely any insect ( sometimes even non-insects like slugs, snails and spiders).

I know it’s still August, but I just felt like making a Halloween card!  So I created this fun little guy using an image from my Cricut Air

dav

The DP is just from my halloween stash and then the little sentiment is a rub on from Tim Holtz.  I added some glitter to his hat buckle and then a few enamel dots to finish it off.  I think he looks more cute than creepy but it totally makes me smile.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with this week!

Enjoy the Good Life

Are you ready for another Cardz 4 Guyz challenge?  This week, it’s all about the R&R…our theme is RELAX!

I was a bit challenged for this one, as I didn’t really have much for guys relaxing…..until I remembered that I have a Cricut Explore Air!~  Blowing the dust off, I found some fun images to cut out…

I’m using this cute one from the Fun in the Sun cartridge…I did a bit of finagling as I added some chalk to sort of define his shorts and his sunglasses!  I paired it with the Lakeside DP from Pebbles (yikes 2012!) and the sentiment I found online at deesdesigns as a freebie (thanks Dee!).

A few little bling from Stampin Up and voila!  Enjoying the day!  I hope you like the card and please stop by the blog to see what the rest of the DT has come up with and to play along with us…can’t wait to see what you create this week!

WCMD with MFT #3 By the Numbers

Ok here’s challenge # 3 for My Favorite Things, World Card Making Day challenge.

Challenge 3: BY THE NUMBERS

Create a card that features a number in a prominent way. It can be a die-cut number, a stamped number, or even the representation of a number (five cute frogs for a favorite five-year-old’s birthday, perhaps?)

Here is the Silver Anniversary card I made (Pinterest Inspired).  I really like how it turned out.  It allowed me to blow the dust off of some of my older embossing folders.

The inside just says congratulations, Happy Anniversary!

I just embossed the panel and popped it up with pop dots.  I cut the 25 out of glitter paper with my Cricut and then added just a few pearls to finish it off.

Hope you like it!

Obscure February Holidays

One of the things I like to do to challenge myself is create cards for obscure holidays.  So I decided to do it with a friend this month.  I am waiting for hers to arrive but these are the ones that I created and sent off to her, I hope she likes them.

February 6th – Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day

I had fun creating this one with my cricut.  I haven’t been using it much lately so it was fun to give it a try again.

Happy Father’s Day

We are thrilled to bring you a new challenge this week at Use Your Stuff.  Our theme this week is ‘inspired by a song’.  Lots of choices there!

I have chosen Brad Paisley’s Didn’t have to be, to create this Father’s Day card.

I just used some paper from my Oliver 6×6 pack from Basic Grey.  I used my A Child’s Year cartridge to cut out the boy and his father.  The wooden stars were spritzed with some smooch and then I had a little arrow clip.  I added a bit of twine and a generic Father’s Day stamp I had.  I hope you enjoy it and be sure to play along with us.

Joy

Happy Happy Joy Joy! Next Friday I am off to sunny Cuba for our annual trip.  CANNOT wait.  We still have cold and snow here, big surprise right????

Ok on to this week’s challenge for 4 Crafty Chicks.  Beautiful bows!   I suck, bigtime with bows!  They never look right so I invested in the bowmaker and it was the best $6 I ever spent!  I use it all the time.

Here is my card for you today

100_7669

The DP is just some scraps left over from all the Christmas Cards that I have been making.  I cut out the mittens and the scarf from my Winter Wonderland cartridge.  The twine is from my stash as well as the JOY sticker.  I hope you like it.  Please stop by the blog and play along with us this week.

Entered into these challenges:

Cards and More: anything goes

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge: ribbon/lace (I hope the twine counts)

Craft-dee Bowz: anything goes with a bow

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge: Use a sentimet

December Daily-Cookies!

Hey everyone.  I wanted to share another page of my December daily with you.  Our challenge this week at Use Your Stuff is to use ribbon.  I love ribbon.  I have tonz of it.  So I was happy to use some up on this page.  HPIM1326

This is day 2 when my son and I started to make some of our Christmas cookies!  Yummy!  I added some Christmas ribbon to the little tag with his picture on it, as well as to the front page for a nice pop of color!  I’ve just been using DP from my Christmas box for this so there are all kinds of different manufacturers in there and I have been mixing and matching.   I cut out the little gingerbread men from my In the Kitchen cartridge as well as the little ‘cookies’ oval.  I hope you enjoy it and hope you will join us at Use Your Stuff for this week’s challenge.

1st Birthday Presents

Ahh another Tuesday has crept up already.  We are having more rain here in Calgary…nothing like the levels of flooding we’ve had but still enough to put a bit of a damper on the Stampede this year.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Toronto right now as they experience what we have been going through.. and NO! You cannot have Mayor Nenshi! 🙂

Use it Tuesday introduced you to our new DT for the term and today we are debuting their first DT projects.  Some of the faces are familiar, others are brand new so make sure you stop by and welcome them.  While you are there, you should enter this week’s birthday challenge! Everyone is always creating a birthday something…tag, layout, card, present….it’s a great challenge to enter!

I have a layout for you this week.  Another one of my favorite subject ..Riley of course.  It’s crazy that I am still working on his first birthday since he turned 4 last week!! Yikes!

943306_10151718664955412_1894085609_n

The DP is from my stash.  I think it came in a swag bag for a crop I did years ago.  I cut out the 1st and birthday using my cricut cartridges that don’t seem to see enough play time these days.  Should really work on that!  The charms are from my stash as well as the chipboard letters for PRESENTS….even the photos are old as they are from Riley’s first birthday!

I hope you will play along with us this week, and don’t forget to welcome the new DT 🙂

happy craftin!
