Dragonfly Dreams: July

It’s time for our July challenge at Dragonfly Dreams everyone! Our theme for the month is Indoor Activities/Hobbies.

I was at first stumped at what to do for this one, but then I realized that there is a lot that this could entail….board games, crafting, baking/cooking, watching movies or tv…lots really.

I chose to go with one of my son’s favorite activities…LEGOS! I’m sure a lot of moms can relate!

I have this Stampin Up set called Boys will Be Boys and it was perfect for this one.

I stamped the image in various directions quite a few times and then colored it with some copics just in some basic colors. It’s hard to se but some of them are also highlighted with some Glossy Accents (the ones that look a bit darker 😉 ). A perfect card for that boy in your life.

Make sure you drop by the blog and see the rest of the projects from the DT, they have a great variety for you!

Looking Sharp: Dragonfly Dreams

Greetings one and all! It’s the first Sunday of the month so that means a new challenge at Dragonfly Dreams! Our theme is FOR THE BOYS! What a great one. If you are like me, you don’t have nearly enough masculine cards!

I knew I wanted to use this image and sentiment that was sent to me in a swap. I colored it with my copics and decided to use come paper from a 6×6 paper pack I picked up at the $$ store awhile ago that had all these green and leafy papers in it. I really like the green and blue together and I think these are perfect colors for a guy’s card.

The DT has some fabulous projects for you today to really get your mojo flowing so be sure to stop by the blog and leave them some love ok!

Thanks for stopping by!

TMS #559

Hey you! I hope you had a great weekend!  I know I  did…I finally got to go to my farm in Saskatchewan!  We’ve been trying since early April to get out there, only to be denied 3x because of one thing and another.

On to today’s sketch challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Patti brings us this gem!

This is what I have for you today.  I made this for my father in law who has a birthday coming up!

I believe the paper is from G45.  The twine is from my stash as are the enamel dots.  The sentiment was sent to me and worked perfect for this card.

I hope that you will stop by the blog to see what the rest of the DT has created for you and also leave them some love.   Play along with us this week, won’t you 🙂

Use Your Stuff & Double Trouble Collaboration

On the Use Your Stuffblog today, we are teaming up with Double Trouble Challenges to bring you a double dose of fun!

So the Use Your Stuff challenge is MASCULINE OR FATHER’S DAY.  It’s also one of the challenges on Double Trouble and they have added an extra element of adding a round element to your project as well.  So when you are creating keep those in mind and you can link to both challenges!  Double Trouble also has a random draw so the more of their challenge concepts you use, the more chances to win!

I’m sharing with you a layout of my son and his best friend that was taken a few years ago.  They were just being silly like they do when they are together!

buddies

It’s funny to use pink and flowers on a boy layout but I actually liked how this turned out!

The DP is from My Mind’s Eye.  I added some chicken wire from Stampin Up and I think a few little embellishments from my stash that might be from various other collections.

I cut the title out using my Cricut.

Come play along with us and with Double Trouble…looking forward to seeing what you create!

The Ordinary

Hey everyone!

I’m happy to be a guest designer this month on the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge!  Their challenges are always anything goes, as long as you do coloring of course!

My card for this week’s challenge features and image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  I think he’s just great for those masculine cards that we all need but never quite seem to have enough of right!

So I’m still in the process of working through some stash papers that I found, which is what I used for this card.  I colored him with my copics and used my CC designs stitched rectangle dies to cut and mat him.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz tiny words and I added a few sequin stars and enamel dots to finish him off.

I hope you like it and please come play along on the blog and see what the rest of the design team has created to inspire you this week!

Boys and their Toys

Friday is here again, and I’m posting on the Sunsational Stamps blog today with my inspiration piece.

Today I am using the image from the Scrapping with Lisa designs called Jimmy.  I thought he was a fun masculine image to play with.

Rather than coloring with my copics like I normally do, I decided to go with some watercoloring today, just because I’ve not done it in awhile.  So as you can see, like a watercolor painting, some of the areas are darker and some have varying degrees of lighter color.  It was fun to get back into it.

I went with lots of layers and just a few embellishments with this one today.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to stop by the store and shop around!  Remember, tomorrow is our blog hop so pop by and see what I have for you then!

DP: Boy crazy (MME)

Punch : EK success

Sentiment:  Stampin Up

Cardstock: Michaels

Twine: unknown

Watercolor pencils: unknown

RCS #85 New Years Eve

Welcome to the first post of 2015!  I want to wish you and yours a very wonderful New Year!

As we start off the new year, we have a new challenge at Red Carpet Studio, along with some new faces in our Design Team.

Our challenge this week is based on the movie New Years Eve

New_Year's_Eve_Poster

Intertwining stories promise love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and more for a number of New Yorkers on the celebrated night. A rock star (Jon Bon Jovi) and his ex-lover (Katherine Heigl) clash at an exclusive party; a singer (Lea Michele) becomes stranded with a killjoy (Ashton Kutcher) on the way to a New Year’s gig; a nurse (Halle Berry) stays with a dying patient (Robert De Niro) as he tries to hang on long enough to see the ball drop in Times Square one last time.

THE CHALLENGE: USE SOME STARS AND SOMETHING NEW

I created a card for this challenge using some new DP that I picked up (yeah! Like I need more) and a new image that was sent to me in a swap.  I hope that you like it and please play along with us this week.  We’ve got great inspiration and a sponsor for this week’s challenge! You need to play! 🙂

Simple Thank you

Hey all.  I’m sorry I’ve been MIA the last little bit.  My whole house is sick including myself and I’ve been busy with work so I have not had a lot of free crafting time.

We have a new challenge at Use It Tuesday this week.  It’s time to break out those stamp sets that you’ve bought but have yet to use! You must have at least one.  If you’re like me the challenge is to figure out which one you want to use!  For my DT card this week, I went with Stampin Up’s Faith in Nature stamp set.  I had used the THANK YOU sentiment several times but never any of the other stamps.  I decided to use the Pear in this one.

I paired it (heeeheeee pun intended) with the Basic Grey granola paper and then just some ribbon and pearls from my stash.  I actually heat embossed the image and the sentiment for this card for a bit more texture.  I hope you like it.  Don’t forget to stop by the blog this week to see the rest of the DT projects and to enter our challenge!  Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Also, we are still having our DT Call for the January -June 2013 term.  This is a great DT for anyone that has tonz of stash and wants to use it up!  Here’s the post with all the deets!

Happy Birthday

I have a cute little card for this week’s challenge at Lollipop Crafts.  Our challenge this week is to use something old and something new and then it is pretty much anything goes!

The older item I used is the DP.  I’ve had it a few years.  I can’t even remember who makes it.  I think the name is Grandma’s Attic or something like that.  The new item is the stamped image which I received in a swap recently.  I used a border punch and a couple of stampin up punches on this as well.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to enter our challenge on the blog today.  The other DT on my team have some cute inspiration for you as well.

Entered into these challenges:

the squirrel and the fox: celebrate the occasion

charisma cardz: for the guys

Oldie but Goodie: use ribbon

For Someone Special Lollipop Spotlight

Hello everyone! Well it’s Thursday so that means it’s the Sponsor Spotlight over at Lollipop Crafts today!  We are very excited to be debuting a new sponsor….THE GREETING FARM!

this week for our White and a Splash challenge TGF has graciously donated one 4×6 stamp set! Oh how I wish I could enter for that alone!!! I just love their images!  So make sure you get in on the challenge…

For my project I am using the Dressy Jeremy digital stamp.  I thought he would be great for just any all round male cards I have to do.  I created this birthday card.  The sketch was in one of my magazines this month and thought I would try it out.

The DP was just some scraps that were in my stash.  I just drew some stitching on each piece with a white pen and then added some bling to the pieces.  The sentiment is a favorite Stampin Up one that I use quite often and the punch is also from Stampin Up.  Jeremy was colored with my Copics and then I decided to cut him out.

I hope you enjoy this card and don’t forget to enter this week’s challenge over on the blog!

Added to the following Challenges:

The paper Shelter: For the Boys

Make it Monday: Anything Goes

My Craft Spot: Manly Men (make a masculine card/project)

Birthday Sundaes: Birthday with a Sentiment
