TMS #710

I’m bringing you our latest sketch from the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog!

I think with this one, you could either make your frame like I did with washi or paper strips, or maybe you might have a die that is similar and can do it for you! I know you will want to check out the blog because the DT has some great ideas on how to do the borders!

I am playing with another card kit. I got this one from Scrap Shotz at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival back in April (and I’m just now getting to it). I’ll be posting the cards I made from it at a later date, but I’m down to my last few pieces of DP. I just used some gold glitter paper for my border and a sentiment stamp from my stash. The flowers are also from my stash as well. It’s not real fancy but I like the gold accents. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but the DP has gold in it as well.

Be sure to stop by the blog to play along with us ok! We can’t wait to see what you create!

TMS #684

Hey everyone! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA lately. It’s been crazy in my house. Lots of home stuff going on, but here I am with the new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

So I’m a bit in the Christmas mood these days so I pulled out my Simple Stories Vintage Rustic Christmas papers and paired it with my Simple Stories Holly Jolly!

I added some green & red twine and a little bit of gold leafy die cuts! I think this turned out really really well. Come play along with us on the blog! The DT has created some awesome projects for you to check out!

Dragonfly Dreams: September

Yep. It’s here. September. Soon to be Autumn. Soon to be Pumpkin Spice Season. **sigh** I am not ready to let go of summer yet.

Our newest challenge is up at Dragonfly Dreams and our theme is Birthday!

We have a new sponsor with us for this one. A lovely designer out of the UK named Lauren Waterworth. I am using a stamp called Birthday Cupcake from her shop on craftsuprint.com

I’m not sure why I went with a Halloween theme for this card. I just had this idea in my head to do Halloween cupcakes!

I printed off three of the cupcakes and colored them with my copics. I then added some stickles & Nuevo Drop to look like sprinkles. I decided to go with a slimline so that I could have enough room for all 3 of my cupcakes. I think that this is an older Echo Park line. I added just a bit of black glimmer paper in behind and of course some enamel dots. I just printed the sentiment off on my computer and I still felt it needed something to give it more of that Halloween theme, so I went with some little silver spiderwebs.

Head on over to the blog…the Design Team has some really great projects for you to check out! Be sure to play along with us this month too!

Online Card Class

So, as you know I’m a fan of card classes. I’ve taken a lot, some I’ve finished, some I’m still working on.

I recently signed up for the Spring Card Camp 2022 hosted by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire as part of their Online Card Class Series. I really enjoyed this class and I learned a lot of techniques. There are a ton of classes on their website, something sure to tickle everyone’s fancy. I have a few more in mind once I get this one done and the cardstock one that I signed up for!

The class has since finished and I’m only on the third one, but that’s the great thing about it being online, one can go at their own pace as time allows.

So our first lesson was about Ink Lifting. A simple technique that has a lot of punch and one that I don’t do near enough (all of these classes really take your cards to the next level). We used stencils, heat embossing, distress inks and then some fun embellishing.

Here are the some cards I created for this class!

So for this one, I used a stencil from Vicki Boutin and some distress inks in some oranges and pinks. The butterflies and sentiment strip are from Brutus Monroe (which I got in a different online card class with SCT). I thought it would be fun to dip them in some gold embossing powder, which I’ve not done in forever!

The happy is from Stampin Up as well and I die cut it in white and then glued it to some vellum and cut it out. I added a few gold Nuevo Drops as well. I really like how this turned out.

Entered into these challenges:

Crafty Gals: Anything Goes

Through the Craft Room Door: Anything Goes

We Love to Create : Anything Goes Mixed Media

This is the other card I created with the challenge! I love the colors in this one. I used a stampin up stencil for the background. The Yippee is a die from my stash as is the sentiment strip, which was stamped, embossed and then die cut out. I punched out some leaves in some teal glitter paper to set it off and added a few pink enamel dots.

Entered into these challenges:

Crafting Happiness: Anything Goes

Everybody Art Challenge: Glitter or pearls

Love to Scrap : Anything Goes

Dream Valley: Summer Colors

Simon Says Stamp: Bright and cheerful

That’s week 1. Very fun and some great techniques that just add a lot of visual interest in my cards I think. Stay tuned for more cards as I progress through this class!

UYS/ Double Trouble Collaboration

Hi all!

We are a week early with the Use Your Stuff challenge as we are collaborating with Double Trouble Challenges as well! Our theme at Use Your Stuff is Fall/Autumn and it falls right in line with their challenges, so if you are entering ours, be sure to enter theirs too!

This is a card that I created as part of my Crop & Create Cardmaking weekend hosted by Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine. The leaves and pumpkin are dies from Simon Says Stamp and I created them using some tear tape from ThermoWeb and some glitter. I covered the cardstock with the tear tap and then spread the glitter on it and then die cut! I can’t even remember the last time I used glitter. I used a leafy embossing folder from I believe Cuttlebug and then just some enamel dots from my stash. The THANKS sentiment die is a tried and true one from I believe Scrapbook.com and you have seen me use it many times before.

We hope to see you play along with both Use Your Stuff and Double Trouble for this challenge!

2CCC: #52

Ok one and all! We are up and running over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies with this month’s new challenge! We are being sponsored by Jan’s Digi Stamps.

We are sponsored this month by Jan’s Digi Stamps and they generouslyprovided images to our DT use on their inspiration projects.

I used the Merry Chris-Moose digi for my Christmas in July card. Our theme is actually ANYTHING GOES but I thought it would be fun!

I colored him just with my copics. The DP is from Miss Kate Cuttables…i thought the buffalo print went so well with his shift! I also added just a little bit of glitter paper for an added accent. Our DT has some really great projects for you to see using a variety of images from the shop so be sure to check them out!

TMS # 604

Hello! Hello! Hello! Here we are again on the first Tuesday of May! We have our latest sketch on board for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Let me show you what I’ve got for you!

I used just a recollections pack of black and white paper! I’ve had it for several years and it’s pretty thick but I’ve barely used it. I also added some blue glitter paper from my stash and I finally cracked open my Ink Road Stamps “Day Pajamas” which I bought last year but never used it. I kept it black and white with a pop of color and unfortunately you can’t see it, but I’ve lightly outlined the toilet paper with my Copic 0002.

I like how this turned out and I also did a different orientation of it and instead of the glitter oval I just went with black and white.

Be sure to stop by the blog today and see the rest of the great projects our Design Team has created with this wonderful sketch. We can’t wait to see what you create with it!

CCC- June

Hey everyone!  Time to head over to the Christmas Craft Creations  blog and play along with this month’s challenge of Christmas Trees!

It’s our mid month reminder, so you still have some time left to play along.  You can find the challenge here!

Here’s mine for you!

I decided to do a die cut scene card.  I found these dies when I was cleaning and realized that I hadn’t even used them yet!  I have no idea who they are by or where they even came from!

The hills were done with some glitter cardstock and my trusty Lawn Fawn stitched hillside border dies and the sentiment stamp is from Lawn Fawn as well.  I like how it turned out actually 🙂

So pop out those Christmas supplies and play along with us. Head over to the blog to see what the rest of the DT has created to inspire you!

–Happy Crafting!

May your days be Merry & Bright

Happy Thursday all!  I’m here with our latest challenge on the Southern Girls Challenge blog.  Ahh, this theme is a love/hate for me…it’s GLITTER!

Glitter is not my friend.  Glitter does not like me.  Luckily Glitter Paper and I are BFFS!  Seriously, I don’t do well with loose glitter, so I opted for some glitter paper to use on my card this week.

Our sponsor is All Dressed Up

I’m using Merry & Bright for my card.  I love this image!

The DP is from Jolee’s Boutique, a collection I’ve been using for the last little while.  I colored the image with my copics and then for the glitter challenge, I used some glitter paper to die cut my snowflakes.

Be sure to hop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for you!

Season’s Greetings

So here we are!  December 1st.  Can you believe it!  How many sleeps until the big guy comes????

I am teaching a card class at my mom’s senior’s home next week, and I wanted to share with you one of the cards that we will be creating which is also my DT contribution this month for the Christmas Crafts All Year Round December challenge.

Our theme is anything goes.  I was inspired by a card that I saw on Sarah Lloyd’s blog where you can find here.

dav

I knew I wanted to use this cork paper that I have had in my stash forever!  It’s really hard to see but I ran it through my twigs embossing folder first.  The sentiment set is from Stampin Up which I stamped right onto the cork paper.  Then I punched out a couple of the twigs from my Stampin Up punch.    I have had this deer die for awhile now and have used it on many different projects, so I cut a bunch out of some gold glitter paper.  He is popped up against the white circle.  I took the little snowflakes from his body and added it as an embellishment with some sequins.  I also used washi tape for the strip.  The circle background is from the Jolie’s Boutique paper pack that I’ve used for a few projects now.

I hope you like it and drop by the blog and see what the rest of the DT has created and link up to  win this month’s prize.
