Hi there! It’s a new week and a new challenge on the Use Your Stuff blog today. I’m hosting this one, and our challenge is to upcycle/recycle an aspect of your project.
For me, I found a couple of paint chip samples on my desk and chose to use them with some die cuts to create a couple of cards.
For the first one, the I used them to cut out the HELLO sentiment as well as the feathers, both of which are from Stampin Up. I added some embossing, twine and some Nuvo dots to finish it off.
My second card, I made some shaker pockets and die cut some stars and balloons from what was left over after the first card. The DP is just from my stash and the sentiment is from Stampin’ Up.
Please join us on the blog and check out what else we have to inspire you.
It’s February! I love February mainly because it is my birthday month!
Here is a quick little card for our Christmas Crafts All Year Round challenge for the month. Our theme is RED. Your project should show red as the predominant color.
All the elements for this card are just from my Christmas stash. I used a project life card as the focal point and then just built around that using some DP, twine, a red doily and some bling. Nothing fancy but definitely screams RED! I hope you like it and please play along with us this month and show us your red creations!
Happy Friday and here are the deets on our new challenge over at Kitty Bee Designs!
Our sponsors this week are Fred She Said
and also Just Me Digital Stamps
Our theme this week is : Kiddy Cards (card for a kid, image of a kid or kid’s things like toys, games, etc)
This is a pretty easy challenge, given that we have halloween coming up, who doesn’t love to see cute kids in costumes, right? All the details are on the blog!
So I am using an adorable image from Fred She Said. You know I love precolored digis, so this one is just adorable. It does also come in a naked (ie b&w, or non colored) format as well. I think it is Nolan & the Bullfrog
I just used some scraps from my bin and added just some twine and a few sequins. I wanted to keep it pretty simple to highlight the image. I hope you like it!
Please don’t forget you have until 11:55 HST tonight to get your comments in to win some digis in our New Release Blog Hop!
Friday is here again, and I’m posting on the Sunsational Stamps blog today with my inspiration piece.
Today I am using the image from the Scrapping with Lisa designs called Jimmy. I thought he was a fun masculine image to play with.
Rather than coloring with my copics like I normally do, I decided to go with some watercoloring today, just because I’ve not done it in awhile. So as you can see, like a watercolor painting, some of the areas are darker and some have varying degrees of lighter color. It was fun to get back into it.
I went with lots of layers and just a few embellishments with this one today. I hope you like it and don’t forget to stop by the store and shop around! Remember, tomorrow is our blog hop so pop by and see what I have for you then!
DP: Boy crazy (MME)
Punch : EK success
Sentiment: Stampin Up
Watercolor pencils: unknown
It’s a new challenge at Red Carpet Studios this week. Our inspiration piece this week is just full of colors, ideas and such. The Book of Life! I haven’t seen this movie but my son has and he said it was fabulous!
In the Mexican town of San Angel, Manolo (Diego Luna), Maria (Zoë Saldana) and Joaquin (Channing Tatum) have been friends ever since childhood. Although their lives have taken different paths — Maria was sent to Europe, Joaquin joined the military, and Manolo studied to become a bullfighter — one thing remains the same: Manolo and Joaquin both want to marry Maria. Little does the trio know that battling husband-and-wife deities have made a high-stakes wager on the love triangle’s outcome.
The challenge is to use the photo above as your inspiration for your project. Our DT has created so many fun, diverse projects for you to check out on the blog
today. We also have a wonderful sponsor!

Happy Happy Joy Joy! Next Friday I am off to sunny Cuba for our annual trip. CANNOT wait. We still have cold and snow here, big surprise right????
Ok on to this week’s challenge for 4 Crafty Chicks. Beautiful bows! I suck, bigtime with bows! They never look right so I invested in the bowmaker and it was the best $6 I ever spent! I use it all the time.
Here is my card for you today
The DP is just some scraps left over from all the Christmas Cards that I have been making. I cut out the mittens and the scarf from my Winter Wonderland cartridge. The twine is from my stash as well as the JOY sticker. I hope you like it. Please stop by the blog and play along with us this week.
Entered into these challenges:
Cards and More: anything goes
Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge: ribbon/lace (I hope the twine counts)
Craft-dee Bowz: anything goes with a bow
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge: Use a sentimet
Hello all! We have another wonderful challenge for you at 4 Crafty Chicks. Our theme is FOOD AND DRINK! Something I am sure a lot of us will be partaking of over the holidays.
I decided to do a bit of a shaped card. I just used one of my spellbinders through my cuttlebug to cut it out. The paper is from my stash box. I cut out the cherries using my Hello Kitty cartridge. I really don’t use this one enough. I added a little sentiment with a small stamp in my miscellaneous box and just a bit of twine to finish it off. I am sending this one out for a swap on swap-bot so I decided to stick with layers and not a lot of embellishments for easy mailing.
Make sure you stop by the blog today and see what fabulous projects the DT has for you this week. Please play along. We cannot wait to see what you create this week.
