Kitty Kiddles

Well, today is my son’s preschool orientation!  I can’t believe he’s in preschool already.  Seems like yesterday that he was just a baby in my arms.  Doesn’t every mom say that at one point or another??LOL

Well fall is around the corner and you know that means Hallowe’en will soon be here.  My little guy is going as a pirate this year! 🙂  You need to hop over to the Digital Delights blog and check out the most adorable new halloween digi’s that Wendy has created! Oh they are so darn cute!  Today I am using Kitty Kiddles.

She comes in a black and white as well as a colored image.  I also used the new Ghoulish sentiment set for this as well.

It’s a little hard to read but it says I may be Cute but I still Bite 🙂

The DP is just some scraps I had left from KI Memories.  The ribbon was in my stash and was in a swap I did last year.  The spiders are from the $$ store.  Aren’t they fun??  I did some distressing on this and added some smooch spritz in Gingersnap as well.  The image I colored with my copics.  Just a fun little card.  Make sure you visit the blog and see what the rest of the DT have for you to celebrate this fun  new release!

Now that we have you in the Halloween mood head on over to the Delightful Challenges blog where this week’s theme is of course Halloween! There is a $10 gift voucher up for grabs from the Digital Delights store and you can pick up these cute images for yourself!

And so the 12 days begin

Well scrappers, you know it’s ’tis the season when Tim Holtz starts his 12 Tags of Christmas! Here it  is Season 5 or is it 6..anyway…today is day 1.

So here is the tag that Tim came up with …I didn’t have a lot of what he did, but I was able to ‘improvise’ a lot and still come out with a great tag.  My only ugh is that I think I used a bit too much of the white paint/stickles on the greenery… My favorite part is the banner.  I didn’t have any music stamps so I found some vintage music sheets on the ‘net and printed it off onto some Kraft cardstock and then added some Vintage Photo DI to it.  A little distressing and voila!   Also didn’t have the pinecone die so I used one of my flower dies instead and I think it worked alright 🙂

Stay tuned tomorrow for the next one.  It goes live on Tim’s blog in a couple of hours but I’ll be asleep by then 🙂  Catch it in the morning…it’s like opening up my advent calendar each day 🙂

Season’s Greetings

Hey there! Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian Friends and Followers!

Today we have a new challenge for you at Lollipop Crafts. We are being sponsored by Little Miss Muffet Stamps and Challenges!

Our challenge this week is CRITTERS! A great simple challenge and an easy one for everyone to enter!  Here is my card this week.  I’ve been gung ho making Christmas cards for my upcoming craft fairs in November and this is one that I created using a card I saw in Stamp It magazine as inspiration.

You can’t tell from the picture but I used a swirl stamp to Versamark the background of the card base.  The image was sent to me in a swap but it is from Stampin’ Up.  I crumpled it then inked it with some Tim Holtz distress ink before putting it onto the scalloped circle mat which was then paper pierced.  The DP was from my stash and the ribbon is from SavvynSassy.  The WISH metal tag is from Tim Holtz and just a little red bling for the nose! Have a great day everyone and make sure you pop over to the Lollipop blog to catch more great projects from the DT for this week’s challenge and to enter your creations as well.

A Vintage Christmas

I did this card as part of a card tag on the Scrapshotz forum and wanted to share it.  I was quite pleased with how it turned out.

I used some scrap DP that I still have in my stash (I really need to clean it out at one point and just get rid of it..LOL)I added some ribbon from my stash as well as the flowers.  I went over the flowers with some walnut stain distress stickles for a vintagy look.  The sentiment was from a set that I bought and I wish I remember who made it but I took it out of the packaging and just put it all into my big Christmas box…I distressed all the edges and gave it a once over with some Walnut Stain distress ink.  A couple of shiny brads and we are done.  I hope you like it.

In distress

your projects that is!! This week at AiFactory, we want you to put your card, layout or project in distress..rip it, tear it, wrinkle it, distress it with a tool, scrunch it, ink it, whatever you can come up with, we want to see it this week!  As always you have a week to upload your project to the AiFactory challenge blog here.  They have to be there by 10:30pm EST on Wednesday June 23 to be entered to win the prize of the digital stamp set and a chance to be a guest designer!   If you upload from an online gallery, please label your project with AIF#40 so we can find it easily.

For this week’s card I did a lot of distressing and used my Tim Holtz Distress Inks (practically had to blow the dust off of these!)  The image is from a new image this week called Best Dad which is of course perfect for Father’s Day which is coming up on Sunday (I have 4 cards to make!).  We all know how hard it is to find masculine images so you’ll want to snag this from the Vault as soon as you can..you can find it here

Remember, you don’t have to use AiF images for your projects but we would love it if you do.  We have a great freebie section to choose from.

I colored the image with my watercolor pencils (again with the dust blowing) and then went over it with some Vintage Photo Distress ink.  I got out my handy dandy distressing tool and did all the edges of my card and for the PP I crinkled it first then ran the ink over it and then did the edges.  I added some string and a clip that I had in my stash.  Instead of brads, I used some little washers I picked up at Home Depot and then adhered them with Glossy Accents..I hope you like it!

Make sure you check out the rest of the DT and what they created for you this week!

Snowy Friend

I recently got my Snow Friends cricut cartridge and have been dying to try it out.  Luckily, the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week is snow.  So here is my little guy.  I cut him out at 4″.  The card base is embossed with my snowflakes embossing folder and then I put some Distress Stickles in all the snowflakes to give it a bit of glitter and bling.  The cheeks were done with some glitter brads and some blue brads for his buttons.  I also added some stickles around his hat and mitts and boots.  Some basic white ribbon from the dollar store and voila..a simple winter card.
