TMS #695

This week’s sketch is Raechelle’s favorite up on the Tuesday Morning Sketches Blog!

This is a great simple sketch! So my first card with this one was this fun little Christmas card.

This time staying with a holiday card, I went with Valentine’s Day.

This one was really easy to put together. I just dug into my Valentine’s box for all the elements. I started with the 3×4 journal card and then I matted it on some cardstock. I had this fun heart paper that I thought would work great and then just a little Valentine’s sentiment from Verve Stamps. Really simple but you could totally layer up this card if you wanted!

Thanks for stopping by and head over to the blog and see the great projects from the DT.

Sorry for the late posting today! My son got braces yesterday and they are really causing him some problems so I’ve been trying to get him sorted with that.

OK…new week, new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches! It’s Melissa’s turn and this is her sketch!

This was my card last year:

Today I have this one!

I used some papers from XOXO and My Funny Valentine from American Crafts. I used a fun sticker from Recollections. I added some enamel dots from my stash to finish it off.

Be sure to stop by the blog to see all the great projects that the team has for you.

BRRRR! It’s a cold day here in Calgary folks! I hope it is warm where you are. If you are inside and looking for some scrappy inspiration…we have a great sketch up at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

We are using Patti’s favorite this week!

I love this sketch. It is such a great one to use, especially if you want to do a lot of cards in a short amount of time…it has great simple elements that you can keep simple or go to town on!

I created another Valentine’s card. I had this gorgeous vintage piece that I knew I wanted to use and so I just built my card around that. I used some washi for the lines and some paper from American Crafts xoxo collection. A simple word sticker and some nuevo drops to finish it off.

Now, head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the DT has created for you with this great sketch to see how versatile it is! Don’t forget to play along with us!

Love me

I don’t normally make Valentine’s Day cards…..it’s more of a Hallmark holiday to me than anything else, but I had these few things on my desk that have been sitting there forever and I was resolved to use them….one was this dotted paper from Stampin Up that I’ve had for years, and the other was the brick wall die cut that was given to me in a swap and lastly was this quote from my favorite musical. I wondered how I could bring the three of them together. I love a good scrapping challenge!

I took the dotted paper and inked it with some distress oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Abandoned Coral and Aged Mahogany. I added some water sprinkles, just for an extra layer of interest. I then put the brick wall die cut over top of that. Then it was just a matter of adding a couple different hearts from my stash (I love that foil one) and some enamel dots. The sentiment is from the Ink Road’s Subway Art Lover’s Movie Quotes. I love this stamp set! I am a big movie buff and it has some of my favorite lines and I really enjoy trying to fit them into different card styles! As I said, this particular quote is from my all time favorite musical The Phantom of the Opera!!!

I really like how this turned out.

I heart you

I’m a bit behind the ball here!  Our new challenge is up on the Use Your Stuff blog and Tammy C’s challenge is to use hearts on your project.

That shouldn’t be too hard considering that it is getting close to Valentine’s Day and many of us are working on VDay related projects right!

Here is a card I created! I’ve been hanging around in the Cricut Design space this last week seeing what I can play around with and this was one of the cards that we could create!

The DP in the back is from Papermania in a collection called Red Hot.  I got this as a gift years ago and have been trying to use it up!  The heart hands are from the Cricut design space (i’m not sure which cartridge it is from as it was one of those Make it Now projects)  and then I went over it all with my wink of Stella pen for a little glitz.

I hope you like it and don’t forget to play along with us!

Bling it on Baby

As you are reading this, I am basking in the Cuban sunshine, sipping alcoholic drinks, eating lobster (well maybe not since I’m allergic) and having a grand time finishing up my holiday!

Another new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks this week.  Bring on your BLING!!  Oh you know you want to do this one!!  Who can resist the shiny??

I decided to go with a Valentine’s day card with the challenge.  It feels like forever since I’ve made one and goodness knows I’ve got the supplies.  I just decided to go with some bits and bobs from my stash.  I don’t know who the DP is from but the little die cuts are all from K & Company.  The doily is from the $$ store and the bling is all from my stash.   I’ve got some pearls, a dainty rose and a cute bling heart in there as well.  The ribbon is left over from my project last week 🙂

Have you been to the blog?  The ladies have blinged it out!  Go see! 🙂

Going to the Chapel

and we’re gonna get married…….well, not really.  Not for a couple more years to renew my vows on the beach in Cuba anyway.

It our challenge for you at 4 Crafty Chicks this week…..WEDDING!

I love wedding cards.  I can go as clean and simple or embellished as I want..lots of bows and pearls and such. 🙂

Here is my card for you today.  It’s another Pinterest inspired project (man I have been spending way too much time on Pinterest lately but I just can’t help it!!!!)

SONY DSC

I went old school with just card stock on this one.  I embossed the banners for some texture and only added minimal embellishments with the cute ribbon and pearls.  Some punches for a bit of layering as well.   I hope you like it.  I thought it turned out really well 🙂

Be sure to stop by the blog today and see all the great projects from the DT for you this week.  I bet you will be inspired 🙂

Love Birds

Inspired by a post I saw on a blog today (I’ll try and find the post for you later because it was a great idea for cards), I created this card for the challenge at Red Carpet Studios this week.

Inspired by The Wedding Singer (A movie I myself have not yet seen, hard to believe I know, considering how much of a movie whore I am, but I am not a fan of Adam Sandler), the challenge is to create a wedding or anniversary card.

Here’s mine…

I went for non-traditional colors on this one and I think it could really be used for either wedding or anniversary which is always great.

Everything on this card is from my stash.  The cardstock is Co-ordinations.  I used my Leafy Branch embossing folder and then I did some distressing.  The felt birds are from Maya Road and I have had them for ever.  I printed the sentiment on my computer and cut it out.  The tag and bling heart are from my stash as well.  I hope you like it.

Also entered into these challenges:

City Crafter Challenge: Wings of an Angel (must have soemthing with wings)

The Ribbon Carousel: Love is in the Air (must have a spooled item on project)

Love Tag

Hey everyone!  It’s a new challenge at Creative Corner Challenges for you this week.

This week our challenge is Love and Hearts.  Create any project that has hearts or has a love subject and link it up for us to see.

For my project this week, it’s a shared collaboration really.  I received this tag as a note for a swap.  I liked the look of it, but I really wanted to build on it, so I just started adding more embellishments to it.  Nothing like layers and layers right.

I started adding some charms, and flowers and bling and ribbon and I think it just looks adorable.  I hope you enjoy it and please stop by the blog and join our challenge this week as well as to see the other great creations by the DT for you this week.
