Exciting News!

Hey everyone! I am really excited to announce that I am on the Design Team for a brand new challenge blog!

Please Share Our Badge

If you love creating Halloween all year round, then this blog is for you!

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge blog is new and waiting to have you play along! Every month there will be an inspiration board posted on the 2nd and then you have until the 28th to create your Anything Goes project. It doesn’t have to be a card or a layout..it can be anything you want! Great right!?

So we are jump starting the challenge this month!

Here is our inspiration board for October!

Lots to pick from with this one. For me, I really liked that black and white word board and the pumpkins. So here’s my card

I was surprised how much Halloween stuff I actually have! Some dating back to 2009 if you can believe it! For this card I used some Chillingsworth Manor paper from Echo Park (2012) I’m pretty sure I won this collection. I added in some pumpkins that I die cut and embossed using an old Cuttlebug set that I had. The little words are just from Chillingsworth Manor as well and then the enamel dots are my stash. I love how this turned out and I can’t wait for you to play along with us.

Head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the DT has created and we hope that you will play along with us!

WCMD with MFT #3 By the Numbers

Ok here’s challenge # 3 for My Favorite Things, World Card Making Day challenge.

Challenge 3: BY THE NUMBERS

Create a card that features a number in a prominent way. It can be a die-cut number, a stamped number, or even the representation of a number (five cute frogs for a favorite five-year-old’s birthday, perhaps?)

Here is the Silver Anniversary card I made (Pinterest Inspired).  I really like how it turned out.  It allowed me to blow the dust off of some of my older embossing folders.

The inside just says congratulations, Happy Anniversary!

I just embossed the panel and popped it up with pop dots.  I cut the 25 out of glitter paper with my Cricut and then added just a few pearls to finish it off.

Hope you like it!

Snowflakes

And here we have another card created for the Core’dinations online crop.  The theme for Clare’s challenge was to use your core’dinations cardstock to make quick and easy Christmas Cards…believe me, you can’t get quick and easier than this.  I think the whole card took me 5 mins to create.  I used the white from the Core’dinations Stacy Julian Happy Colors (this paper pack is getting quite the workout over the last few days!).

HPIM1297

I knew I wanted to do a white on white card because I really love the look of them and what better theme than snowflakes.  I decided to brush the dust off of my Christmas embossing folders and chose this snowflake one.  I then used a sizzix snowflake die and my SU punches to set the sentiment.  I did a bit of distressing on the edges and added some pearls and bling (oh those little blings are hard to work with!) to set it off.

Make sure you stop by and play along to win some great Core’dinations packs!

Up Up and Away

Hello all!

A little chilly here in Calgary this morning.  Fall is definitely here.  **sigh** that means a long winter is just around the corner.  Until it gets here I still want to think of warm weather and sunny days.

Our challenge for you this week at Use It Tuesday is one I just love.  Odds, Ends, Scraps & Pieces.  It’s time to clear off those little bits and bobs off of your scrap desk!  We all have them, those little left over bits after we create other projects, my desk is full of them for sure!

So I created this fun birthday card which I just love!

The blue piece is one of the few card starbursts I had left..I have had those forever!  The stars were just hanging around on my desk from other projects. The stamp set that I used for the balloon is the What’s Up colllection from Hero Arts.  I’ve had it for awhile but never cracked it open.  I really like this image and will probably create more with it.  The paper banners were just some scraps.  I did a little bit of embossing and added some glossy accents to the colored balloons.   The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up.

I hope you like it and please stop by the blog to see the other DT inspirations and to play along with us this week.

Dotted Birthday

Happy Friday, Friday Friday!  So glad for the weekend.  It’s been awhile since I posted last.  Sorry about that.  It’s been so busy in my house.  Vacation, work, house guests.  Not a lot of scrapping time.  I’m back with a new challenge on the Creative Corner Challenges blog.  It’s all about the dots!!! Polka dots are this week’s theme.  I’ve got a fun little card for you that I made (well actually i made 4 of them as they are part of a swap that I am doing).  It’s a simple card with no DP which is unusual for me.

001

I just punched out various sizes of dots and then the big present is one of my cuttlebug die/folder sets that I haven’t used in a very long time.  I hope you like it.  Please stop by the blog and see the other DT inspiration cards for you this week and come play along with us!

Lollipop Crafts Celebration Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

“It’s time for a CELEBRATION!!!  Lollipop Crafts is celebrating their ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY and you are sweetly invited to join the fun!
First of all, we are back from summer break with our weekly challenge.  The theme this week is CELEBRATION!  Create a card/project with a celebration theme (ex. birthday, anniversary, wedding, new baby, graduation, etc)  We all have something to celebrate right?  It is the first challenge of the month and that means we are sponsored this week by Meljen’s Designs.
One lucky random challenge player this week will win a fantastic prize.  Be sure to link your creations with InLinkz on the LC blog for a chance.  Check out the challenge rules too!
Secondly, it wouldn’t be a celebration without some FUN!  Join in on our Anniversary blog hop!  You have until tomorrow (Tuesday at midnight PST) to visit and comment on each DT member’s blog.  Make sure you visit each of us because their are hidden prizes (the DT doesn’t even know who has the prizes).  Winners will be announced on Wednesday.  List of blog hop sponsors can be found on the LC blog and the master blog hop order is there too!
You should have arrived here from Kim’s  blog.  If you hopped here by chance, please head over to Lollipop Crafts and begin your journey there.
Using Meljen’s Bunbun image (this is so adorable) I created this cute little birthday card.  One can never have enough birthday cards in my opinion.

The DP is from Bazill (Grandma’s Feather Bed).  The image is colored with copics with just a hint of paper piecing with the party hat and cupcake.   I also added just a bit of stickles as well.  The ribbon is from my stash and I cut the balloons out using my Celebrations cartridge and then ran them through the cuttlebug with the polkadots folder.  Since my FB win with Whisker Graphics, I’ve been using a lot of their baker’s twine which I incorporated here for the balloon strings.  The sentiment is a stamp set from Hot Off the Press.  I hope you like it!

Now it’s time for you to hop on over to  Zulma’s  blog  to see what she has created for you and don’t forget to leave her some some sugar!!”

Embossing with Sarah Hurley

It’s a new challenge at Sarah Hurley this week, and we are excited because we are lucky enough to be sponsored by Handy Hippo! Handy Hippo is a friendly online craft supplies shop with a great range of rubber stamps and other card making goodies – including plenty of embossing folders and dies for the Cuttlebug. Their website has lots of information on crafting techniques, plus a great selection of free card project ideas to suit crafters of all abilities so please pop over and visit them!
They chose a theme of Embossing this week and have given us some embossing folders as a prize! There will be 3 for the winner and one each for 2nd and 3rd place. You can see them on their website here

Here is my card for this week’s challenge

I used some of Sarah’s digital papers for the balloons (which can be found in the store here.  I embossed the balloons using the Houndstooth Cuttlebug folder and then raised a few of them with pop dots.  I added some thick twine to use as strings and then tied it with the red twine.  A simple sentiment from Sarah’s store and the card is finished.  The edge embossing was done with my Scor-Buddy.  Just a nice touch I think.  I hope you enjoy this card and don’t forget to head over to the challenge blog to play along for that great prize this week from Handy Hippo!

It’s a Lace thing

Good morning everyone!  It’s challenge day at Lollipop Crafts and this week it’s all about the lace!  Such a pretty dainty thing and we’d like to see what you can do with it on your projects.  It can be actual lace, lace punches, lacy borders whatever you can come up with.  All of the deets can be found on our challenge blog so please stop by and enter.  I can’t wait to see what you create and the design team as well as our two guest designers this month have created some gorgeous projects for you!

So here is my dainty little piece.

I have no idea why I decided to do a Christmas card.  I think it’s because I had that embossed piece of cardstock and really wanted to use it up.  I had seen an all white card in a magazine I picked up recently and loved the look of it so I knew I wanted to try that as well.  So this is what I came up with.  The cardstock is embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  The lace is actually cut off from a big sheet of it that I found when I was cleaning my scrap area.  I have no idea where it was from.  The sentiment is Stampin Up and the big glittered snowflake and the smaller one are from my big stash box of Christmas stuff.  I hope you like it. The ribbon is just from my stash as well.

I’ve entered into the following challenges….
