MTCC #65

It’s getting spooky on the Make the Cards Challenge blog today! Our new theme is up, and you guessed it —HALLOWEEN is what we are going with!

I was just using some bits and pieces from my Halloween box for this one. I knew I wanted to use that NEVERMORE tag as my focal point. So I just started grabbing bits and bobs that I thought would layer well for work with the card. I really like how this turned out!

The DT has put together some really great projects for you to see on the blog. They know how to do spooky right!

Stop by and play along with us…we can’t wait to see your spooky or cute projects

TMS # 622

Happy Tuesday everyone! Our first one in September at Tuesday Morning Sketches and we have a great sketch for you this week.

Here we go with my card!

I used some of the last bits of my Wildflower and Honey Collection from my August 2019 sampler. You can see for my card rather than going with a circular centre image, I went with a tag. I added some white wink of stella on the flower to add a bit more interest. Some Neuvo drops for those corners.

Be sure to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the DT has created.

TMS #565

Glad to see you here for the next challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches!   Without further adieu here we go!

Using up some more of my Echo Park Coffee 6×6 paper and die cuts I came up with this gem

It’s pretty simple and the only other things I added were some ribbon and twine from my stash.  Be sure to stop by theblogand see what the rest of the DT has created and be sure to play along with us!

Love is in the Air

With Valentine’s day coming up so soon, you had to know that I would be posting another Love project.

Our challenge is up at Red Carpet Studio this week.  One of my favorite movies……LOVE ACTUALLY  is our theme!  We would like to see a project about love, something that you love, a place you love, something that you love to do, oh the love choices are endless for interpretation!

love, actually

This week we are lucky to be sponsored by Paper Nest Dolls!

The Paper Nest Dolls

I’ve got a tag for you today.  I love to play with layers and techniques so I thought this would be fun.  I got this from a make and take class I did at a scrapbook convention one year.  I just loved playing with different mediums  and making them all come together.

002

There is some stamping and inking and modge podge (oh who doesn’t love MP).  I really love that mesh overlay.  I don’t play with mesh nearly enough.  Paper images and some pearls and lace for that vintage feel.  I wanted to give it some pop of color so I added some diecut hearts from my stash.  Just a lovely vintage Parisian feel to this.

I hope you will play along with us at RCS this week for a chance to win a great prize from our sponsor!  Show us what you love!!!

Love Birds

Inspired by a post I saw on a blog today (I’ll try and find the post for you later because it was a great idea for cards), I created this card for the challenge at Red Carpet Studios this week.

Inspired by The Wedding Singer (A movie I myself have not yet seen, hard to believe I know, considering how much of a movie whore I am, but I am not a fan of Adam Sandler), the challenge is to create a wedding or anniversary card.

Here’s mine…

I went for non-traditional colors on this one and I think it could really be used for either wedding or anniversary which is always great.

Everything on this card is from my stash.  The cardstock is Co-ordinations.  I used my Leafy Branch embossing folder and then I did some distressing.  The felt birds are from Maya Road and I have had them for ever.  I printed the sentiment on my computer and cut it out.  The tag and bling heart are from my stash as well.  I hope you like it.

Also entered into these challenges:

City Crafter Challenge: Wings of an Angel (must have soemthing with wings)

The Ribbon Carousel: Love is in the Air (must have a spooled item on project)

For You-A Penny’s Papercrafty Challenge

I am excited to bring you my first creation as a member of the Penny’s Papercrafty Challenge DT!  Our challenge for you this week is to create a project that is anything but a card.  It could be journals, tags, altered projects whatever tickles your fancy.

I am highlighting an image from one of our sponsors this week.. Sassy Studio Designs

I have created a tag using just some scraps that I had on my table.  I love using my scraps to create new projects

I used my Spellbinders to cut out the image and to mat it with a scalloped circle.  The “for you’ is from my stampin up itty bitty banners set and just some bling from my stash.

Make sure you join us on the blog and upload your project for this week’s challenge and to find out this week’s sponsors and rules.

Baby Tag

So last week I had posted a layout I did for a kit of the month challenge on CanadianScrapSwapChat.  That was part one.  Part two was to create another project using the same kit..it could be card, altered project, tag etc.  I really like the die cuts in this pack so I made a cute little baby tag with it.

It’s a bit fuzzy so I hope you’ll forgive that.  I basically just used up some of the scraps and then added the diecuts and popped them up.  Nothing fancy here.  Just a little ribbon to match.  Pretty clean and simple I think. I hope you like it.  I have a friend who’s newly pregnant and so I can’t wait to put this on her present for her shower!  I hope she likes it too!

I’ve entered into the following challenges:

A.muse studio: die cuts

Crafting When We Can: Animals

CASual Fridays Challenge: Hello Baby

Crafty Ann’s Challenge Blog: Anything Goes

Happy Holidays

Happy Monday! Ahh the start to another week.  I’m living for Friday right now as I am going to the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival here in Calgary and CANNOT wait! It’s going to be awesome! I’m also taking a photography course from the awesome Allison Orthner!  It is going to be a blast! If you haven’t already got a ticket I believe there are still some available for the basic crop and you can also buy tix for the marketplace which I know is going to be phenomenal!

Anway..on to this week’s new challenge from Lollipop Crafts.  A fun one to be sure–anything but a card…time to work on those layouts, altered items, 3D items, tags and whatever else you can think of.

I am currently hard at work doing Christmas cards/tags for my upcoming craft fair so I have a tag to share with you this week.

Made from some scraps I have, I used the Simply Charmed cricut cartridge for the ornament.  I added some chunky glitter as well as some felt snowflakes and a few red pearls for a pop of color.  I really like this one and think I’ll make more of him..goodness knows I have tonz to make.

Make sure you stop by our blog and play to win from our great sponsor Robyn’s Fetish this week!

Sarah Hurley Challenge #45 Colouring

It’s a new challenged at the Sarah Hurley Challenge blog today and this week we are being sponsored by

Yay! Robyn has graciously donated

5 digital stamps or 4 digital stamps and 1 digital paper set of their choice.  A very awesome prize to be sure.  Here is my project this week using Robyn’s best friends bunnies

I cut the tag using my cricut and added a punched border, some inking, my baker’s twine (from my Whisker Graphics win on FB) a button flower, paper flowers and some jute.  The image was colored (since this is our theme after all) using my Copics!  I hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to stop by the blog to enter your own colored project to win.

Vintage Valentine

Hi everyone!  It’s a new Tag challenge over at Challenge Masters, and this month it’s all about the love, romance and Valentine’s Day.  I had to make some tags for the Kinderstampo Tag Swap and so I thought that I would incorporate both challenges into this…

I am really loving how these turned out.  I love the vintage look but am not the best at re-creating it.  However, once I got started, I couldn’t stop and ended up making 12 of them…here are just a couple of samples.

For these, I just cut the heart shape out using my Cricut.  I then heat embossed it with an  old french script writing background stamp that I had..after that it was glimmer mist time.  I printed off some vintage sheet music from the internet, which I then distressed and ink with Tim Holtz inks for that vintage feel.  The cliparts are from the internet as well.  Just some free site I found by googling.  The rest are just bits and bobs that I had lying around in my stash, pearls, bling,  little fabric flowers, flowers that I bought from the wedding section at Walmart and then just inked and glimmer misted to give a vintage feel to.  I really love how they turned out!  If you decide to make some, please enter my challenge at Challenge Masters so that I can see them!  Click here to sign up to the free forum…
