Bella in Blue

Hello all! Welcome to Monday here on my blog. It’s a new challenge at Lollipop Crafts and this week is an Anything Goes challenge.  So it’s just for fun and we get to highlight our top three on Sunday!  Let your creative juices run wild!  I know the DT has some wicked inspiration for you so don’t forget to stop by the blog and leave them some love!

So as you know, I belong to Swap-bot.com which I love because of all the different card swaps they do there.  I have one that is a card swap with a twist…so my partner actually sends me the embellishments to put on the card, I make it and send it back.  So I was sent some ribbon, a flower,a button and a brad.  Not a lot to work with, but luckily they all matched.  So this is the card that I created inspired by the supplies I was sent. Someone had sent me this stamped image in a swap so it seemed like a good one to use up.  I cut it out using my Spellbinders and inked the edges with Broken China Distress Ink (BTW have you seen the new distress colors for spring IN LOVE!!!!).  I can’t wait to get mine.  The DP is from the Kaisercraft Blae and Ivy set which is really pretty blues and greens!  I colored her using my ever trusty copics!

Here’s the card

I’ve entered into the following challenges:

Amusing Challenges: anything goes

Catered Crop: B is for Bodacious (anything that begins with B..I have button, blue and Bella)

Craft Us Crazy: Inspire Us (found inspiration or favorite stamp) I had to be inspired by the supplies that were sent to me by my swap partner

Frame It, Frame It, Frame It

I sound like that guy Mr Maker. LOL.  This week on the Sarah Hurley Challenge blog we are looking to see frames in your projects, they can be hand made or an embellishment that you already own, die cuts, doodles, stitches whatever gets your creative juices flowing!  The challenge goes until May 29th and the winner announced on June 1.  You have lots of time to enter to win a great prize from Sarah!  Here is my card this week..

The sketch is from the Scrapbook & Cards Today Cardmaps book!  I’ve used Sarah’s papers and the ribbon, flowers and brads are all from my stash as was the thank you rub on.. The frame was just made using some simple cardstock.  A very simple card.  Make sure you check out the other DT projects on the blog.

Coloring on the Lollipop

Our challenge for you this week at the Lollipop Crafts challenge blog is to color with your favorite medium..maybe its Copics, maybe its Prismamarkers, maybe it’s paint…we’re being sponsored this week by LJL Designs this week who have a great prize for the winner..digi images AND a digi paper pack!

So here’s this week’s DT card

I used my Tim Holtz distress inks to color this time..I love my copics, but I just love coloring with my inks and my waterbrush too!  The DP was just from my stash as were the flowers and glass balls that I used.  The heart brads I have had forever and finally found a card to use them on.

I hope you enjoy the card and don’t forget to stop by the blog to check out this week’s challenge details and to see the other inspiration from the DT …don’t forget to leave them some love, especially today of all days!

For the Bride

Hello everyone! I hope that you’ve all had a fabulous Christmas! Mine was great, moreso because my parents were here from Kamloops to spend Christmas with the family for the first time in 15 years!  It was a whirlwind few days but we were all so happy to have them here!

Well it’s the last challenge for 2010 at AiFactory.  We’ve got a lovely digital set up for grabs this week.  It’s called Ella the flower girl and I just love it!

This week’s theme is ELEGANCE.  So however you want to interpret that into your card.  It could be an elegant wedding card, or birthday card, or thinking of you.

I did a bridal shower card myself.  With my own 5th anniversary next week, I was remembering way back when I was excited to be a new bride and celebrating my wedding.  The excitement of my bridal shower only a few weeks before and how my DH and I have celebrated every anniversary since then with a trip to Cuba! (We leave on the 15th on Jan 😉 )

I found this envelope from a B&W swap that I did on a yahoo group ages ago and so I wanted to start using it.  Thus my card is mainly black and white with just a bit of color. (forgive my thumb..the card front is cut in half so it doesn’t sit properly like a normal card)

The black paper on the inside of the card is actually floral embossed altho it’s hard to tell.  I used some stickles on her dress for some glimmer and some $$ store pearls.  The flowers came from the stash swap and I added some stickles to the brad.  I distressed the edges of the DP and added a bit of ink here and there on some edges.  I cut the image out using my Spellbinders.  I also added a border punch to imitate some lacy edging..

I hope you will join in our challenge this week.  You have until 11:59EST on Wednesday January 5 to upload your card using the link on the challenge blog!  If you are uploading from an online gallery please us AIF061 so we can find your card.  Also if you upload your card to our online community gallery, you can win a $10 GC to our store!  Speaking of our store, we have some great images that you can use for this challenge in there as well as some freebies so make sure you check it out!

I wish you all the best for 2011 and I hope you will continue to enjoy my cards and projects.

Unleash your animal side!

This week at AiFactory, we want to see your animal! Cards and projects that is.  The theme is animals and for extra pop to add a brad!  This week the DT got to use this oh so cute digital stamp which can be found in the store by clicking here.  Remember when you enter the challenge to leave us a link on the challenge blog so that we can check out your great projects.  You have until 10:30PM EST  Wednesday May 26th to get your entries in and then a random winner will be chosen to receive this great digital set.  We’d love for you to use an AiFactory image but it’s okay if you don’t.  There are however, some really cute freebies here that would work great, so make sure you check them out! Remember if you are uploading to an online gallery to please use the code AIF#36 or AiFactory#36 so that we can easily find your entry!  Good luck and can’t wait to see what your animal side!

Here is my card this week…

I used some cute patterned paper from my stash!  Have I told you that I am addicted to 6×6 papers!  I’ve been buying them everywhere… I colored the image with my copics and then just matted it onto some Bazzill cardstock.  I don’t normally use orange, but I do like the orange/purple combo.  I punched out the circles with a punch and the sentiment is just a Studio G stamp.  Karen Foster brads…and we are done!
