UYS #485

Happy Monday everyone! Monday, is it ever really happy??? LOL

So on the Use Your Stuff blog today we have an Anything Goes challenge! Who doesn’t love that! We just want to see what you are working on this week.

For me, my BFF gave me one of those Annie’s Attic card kits (she got two in error). I hadn’t used them before so it was fun to give it a try. They give you a lot of stuff in the bag including paper, stencil, stamp, ink, some enamel dots and a bunch of die cuts and then the instructions to make 3 cards. I’m guessing that since they give you 2 sheets of the die cuts, you can make 2 of each card. This one was very red, white and blue! I decided to just make the 3 with the instructions and then use the rest of the supplies for a bunch more cards. I ended up getting a baker’s dozen out of the kit and I still have a bunch of the enamel dots and a shwack of the die cuts left. I really like the projects though! I needed to make birthday cards and since most of them were going to the USA it kinda worked out.

Here’s one from the batch!

The sentiment and the card base were mine but pretty much everything else was in the kit. I decided to use some of my clear bling rather than the red and blue enamel dots on this one. This was actually the last card that I made with just some scraps that I had left over.

If you want to see all the cards I made with it, pop on over to my instagram page: if_the _scrap_fits and you can see them all there.

I hope you will stop by the blog and see what the rest of the DT have for you.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Holidays in Red

It’s February!  I love February mainly because it is my birthday month!

Here is a quick little card for our Christmas Crafts All Year Round challenge for the month.  Our theme is RED.  Your project should show red as the predominant color.

All the elements for this card are just from my Christmas stash.  I used a project life card as the focal point and then just built around that using some DP, twine, a red doily and some bling.  Nothing fancy but definitely screams RED!  I hope you like it and please play along with us this month and show us your red creations!

Thank you for your Service

It’s the long weekend here in Canada.  Almost my entire house is sick.  Yuk!

Our new challenge is up at Red Carpet Studio this week.

The theme is to create a Memorial Day (for our US friends) project….perhaps it is something that you do over the long weekend, like picnics & fireworks, camping…is it the theme of brotherhood and family, or do you have a special someone that serves in the armed forces.  We want to see what you create.

As well, we have a wonderful sponsor, BUGABOO STAMPS!

As a Canadian,  I am given many rights and privileges that would not be possible without those that serve in our armed forces.  For that I extend my most humblest and sincerest thanks and admiration.  Without you I could not be a free me.  For my project this week, I have chose to honor those who serve.

Now of course I did it in Red and White 😉  The image is Bugaboo’s Kidlet Army which I think is just adorable.  I used my Taylored Expressions die for the white background.  The red star behind the image is a Spellbinders.  The Stars and sentiment are from Stampin Up.  I hope you enjoy the card and please come by the blog and play along for a chance to win.

Have a wonderful long weekend everyone!

Seeing Red

We are back at Creative Corner Challenges!  We took some time off and are now ready to get going with new challenges for the new year.

Our first one of this year in honor of Valentine’s Day and the month of February, is SEEING RED.  We want to see red on your project.  A nice easy challenge to start us off.

I created this card just using some bits and bobs from my scraps box and my Stampin Up Serene Silhouettes stamp.

001

I just wanted to make a simple any occasion card that I could use and send in the mail at the spur of the moment.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to play along with us on the blog this week.  We’d love to see what you create!

A New Challenge Blog

Hey there!  So I am excited to be a part of a new challenge blog with a couple of other great ladies.  We’re just cutting our teeth so please bear with us as we work out the kinks, get the badges going and the like.

Our blog is called Creative Corner Challenges.  Each week we will bring you a new challenge and you have one week to enter your projects.  Make sure you check out the challenge rule tab with all the information.

Our first challenge for you is Embossing.  Use either heat or dry embossing somewhere on your projects.

Here is the card I have for you today.

embossing

I did both heat and dry embossing for this one.  I used my cuttlebug heart folder (had to blow the dust off of that one) and I also stamped the image (from Stampin Up) with versamark and then embossed it with some red embossing powder I had.  The sentiment is also Stampin up and the bling is from my stash.  I really hope you like it, and I do hope you will play along with us each week.  I look forward to seeing your great projects.

Eddie the Elf

Hey everyone!  Here is my card for this week’s inspiration post at Digital Delights.  Meet Eddie the Elf!

He is such a cute little Christmas image that you can find in the store here and comes in both colored and b&w.

This is my Christmas card for you this week.

The DP is some left over Echo Park and  Basic Grey that I had used for some other projects.  I colored him with my copics and then added some stickles for some shiny fun.  The swirly diecut is from sizzix and the bling and brads are from my stash.  I colored the die cut with Eddie using some chalk. The sentiment is one from the store called Circular Merry Christmas I hope you like him and please stop by the blog to see the rest of the great inspiration for you this week.

Seeing Red with Craft Your Passion

Well here it is, my last week as a guest DT for Craft Your Passion.  A big thank you to CYP for having me. It has been a great honor and I have enjoyed every minute of it.  This week, another great challenge for you.  We are SEEING RED!  We would love to see it with your projects as well, so make sure that somewhere on there, it can be in your DP, an embellishment, some coloring in an image, there is some RED! Make sure you stop by the blog for all the details and prize information!

Here is my card for this week.  I loved this image from CocoDingo because I’ve had this Cinco De Mayo paper in my stash forever that I could finally use.  I added a little bit of jupe and a bit of ribbon and that’s it for this one.  The stamped sentiment was from an old stamp I found in my stash.  The image was colored with my copics. Their website has lots of information on crafting techniques, plus a great selection of free card project ideas to suit crafters of all abilities so please pop over and visit them!
They chose a theme of Embossing this week and have given us some embossing folders as a prize! There will be 3 for the winner and one each for 2nd and 3rd place. You can see them on their website here

Here is my card for this week’s challenge

I used some of Sarah’s digital papers for the balloons (which can be found in the store here.  I embossed the balloons using the Houndstooth Cuttlebug folder and then raised a few of them with pop dots.  I added some thick twine to use as strings and then tied it with the red twine.  A simple sentiment from Sarah’s store and the card is finished.  The edge embossing was done with my Scor-Buddy.  Just a nice touch I think.  I hope you enjoy this card and don’t forget to head over to the challenge blog to play along for that great prize this week from Handy Hippo!

This card is entered into the following challenges:

A Floral Thank You with Sarah Hurley

So today’s marks my debut as part of the Sarah Hurley DT. Our theme this week is Flowers…
Without further adieu here is mine… (shout out to Lori Padberg.  It was one of her creations that inspired mine.  I loved the simple look of it)
I used some digital paper & sentiment from Sarah’s line which can be found here.

The flower is from my stash and I just inked it up a bit with some red ink.  I did some die cutting as well for the flowers and used the spellbinders to showcase the flower.  And of course some embossing using the fleur de lis embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  A really simple card but I quite like it.  Make sure you stop by the Sarah Hurley challenge blog to get your own flower entries in!  We can’t wait to see them!

Lovely Lady

Welcome to Monday! It’s challenge day at The Crazy Challenge and this week, we’re looking for all the lovely ladies out there!  I must be on a vintage kick, which for me is surprising, because I never really thought of myself as the vintage type..anyway, here is my card.

The image is downloaded from the internet (I really wish I had a stash of vintage images from a book or something). The music sheet is left over from a Tim Holtz Christmas Tag..it was printed out onto vellum and then inked and distressed to give it a vintagy feel.  The bling, pearl strand, ribbons and flowers are all from my stash.

Make sure you stop by the Crazy Challenge Blog to check out all the details on this week’s challenge.  We’re being sponsored by Hobbismo and there is a great prize to be won!
