UYS Challenge # 259 – Flowers

Our challenge is up at Use Your Stuff this week, a popular theme of flowers.  Good thing I’ve been working with the Moonstruck collection this week from Pink Paislee.  It has tonz of flowers!

Here is my layout for this week! This is all Pink Paislee except for the Thickers which are from American Crafts and match this collection just beautifully! I hope you enjoy it and will play along with us on the blog. We can’t wait to see what you create!

The Cake.

Been to the Red Carpet Studio blog yet?  You might get hungry if you do!  Our challenge this week is Food!  We are basing our theme this go round on the movie Julie & Julia!

I did a wedding layout this week.  This was our wedding cake.  I had originally wanted it to be blue & green, our colors but Neil disagreed.  So, we went with an all white cake and decorated the table instead.  It turned out great and the cake was delish!!!!20141115_1604031

I hope you will join our challenge this week as we have a prize sponsored by Jack Bear Stamps which is pretty darn cool!

Going to the Chapel

and we’re gonna get married…….well, not really.  Not for a couple more years to renew my vows on the beach in Cuba anyway.

It our challenge for you at 4 Crafty Chicks this week…..WEDDING!

I love wedding cards.  I can go as clean and simple or embellished as I want..lots of bows and pearls and such. 🙂

Here is my card for you today.  It’s another Pinterest inspired project (man I have been spending way too much time on Pinterest lately but I just can’t help it!!!!)

SONY DSC

I went old school with just card stock on this one.  I embossed the banners for some texture and only added minimal embellishments with the cute ribbon and pearls.  Some punches for a bit of layering as well.   I hope you like it.  I thought it turned out really well 🙂

Be sure to stop by the blog today and see all the great projects from the DT for you this week.  I bet you will be inspired 🙂

New Beginnings

Happy New Year everyone!  It’s all about the new at Use Your Stuff this week.  Our theme is NEW BEGINNINGS! We would like to see projects that emphasize something new…a new baby, new home, new you..whatever you can think of.

I created a fun little wedding card for my project this week.  I wanted to use up some items that had been hanging out on my desk for far too long.

The DP is from an old wedding stack pack by I think DCWV.  The image is from my stamp box and the sentiment is stampin up.  The flower is from the wedding section at Walmart.

I hope you like it and I hope you will play along with us this week.

Going to the Chapel

Happy Friday!  I am thrilled to be bringing you a new challenge for Creative Card Challenges this week.  As we head into June, it is the unofficial beginning of Wedding season…so our theme this week is WEDDINGS!

Today I am sharing with you a layout in my 8×8 wedding album.  This is a picture of me in my wedding dress.  Oh I loved my dress.  The smaller picture is of my rose bouquet that my mom made for me.  In it was a rose from her own bouquet when she married my dad. 🙂

This was a really simple layout because I really wanted to focus on the photos.  I hope you like it and be sure to stop by the blog and play along with us this week.

Love Birds

Inspired by a post I saw on a blog today (I’ll try and find the post for you later because it was a great idea for cards), I created this card for the challenge at Red Carpet Studios this week.

Inspired by The Wedding Singer (A movie I myself have not yet seen, hard to believe I know, considering how much of a movie whore I am, but I am not a fan of Adam Sandler), the challenge is to create a wedding or anniversary card.

Here’s mine…

I went for non-traditional colors on this one and I think it could really be used for either wedding or anniversary which is always great.

Everything on this card is from my stash.  The cardstock is Co-ordinations.  I used my Leafy Branch embossing folder and then I did some distressing.  The felt birds are from Maya Road and I have had them for ever.  I printed the sentiment on my computer and cut it out.  The tag and bling heart are from my stash as well.  I hope you like it.

Also entered into these challenges:

City Crafter Challenge: Wings of an Angel (must have soemthing with wings)

The Ribbon Carousel: Love is in the Air (must have a spooled item on project)

Creative Creations: Inspired by a Song (When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge)

Keep Calm & Sparkle!

Morning all.  Survived another Monday and I’m one day closer to Cuba..woohoo.

Well we are back to work at the Use it Tuesday blog and we have a new challenge for you.  We want you to sparkle and shine.  Show us your projects with sparkle..so it could be bling, gems, pearls, stickles, glitter, anything that stands shiny! 🙂

Here’s my project for you today.  It’s a wedding card with a matching envelope.  I went to town with my smooch spritz on this one.  The Mr. & Mrs. is cut with my Sweethearts cricut cartridge (I believe) and the pearls are from my stash.  I actually cut it in half because I have a love/mostly hate relationship with these big blingy things..they never work for me.

I hope you like it and stop by the blog to see what the rest of the DT have for you this week.

A New Challenge Blog

Hey there!  So I am excited to be a part of a new challenge blog with a couple of other great ladies.  We’re just cutting our teeth so please bear with us as we work out the kinks, get the badges going and the like.

Our blog is called Creative Corner Challenges.  Each week we will bring you a new challenge and you have one week to enter your projects.  Make sure you check out the challenge rule tab with all the information.

Our first challenge for you is Embossing.  Use either heat or dry embossing somewhere on your projects.

Here is the card I have for you today.

embossing

I did both heat and dry embossing for this one.  I used my cuttlebug heart folder (had to blow the dust off of that one) and I also stamped the image (from Stampin Up) with versamark and then embossed it with some red embossing powder I had.  The sentiment is also Stampin up and the bling is from my stash.  I really hope you like it, and I do hope you will play along with us each week.  I look forward to seeing your great projects.

Romance..everyone loves it…So that is what I decided to do my card on this week for the Crazy Challenge.  Our theme is actually ANYTHING GOES, (my favorite) so you can put together whatever you like! The sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Lou

Here is my card for this challenge

I used the Bride and Groom image from Digital Delights, which I colored with copics and added a bit of stickles to her dress and veil.  The DP was just some pieces from my stash.  I added a seed bead flower that was sent to me in a swap as well as some felt hearts and a little metal tag.  The last bit was some silver cord into a bow behind the flower.  The actual sketch for this card came from the Scrapbook and Cards Today Cardmaps book.

I hope you’ll join our challenge this week and I look forward to seeing what you create!

For the Bride

Hello everyone! I hope that you’ve all had a fabulous Christmas! Mine was great, moreso because my parents were here from Kamloops to spend Christmas with the family for the first time in 15 years!  It was a whirlwind few days but we were all so happy to have them here!

Well it’s the last challenge for 2010 at AiFactory.  We’ve got a lovely digital set up for grabs this week.  It’s called Ella the flower girl and I just love it!

This week’s theme is ELEGANCE.  So however you want to interpret that into your card.  It could be an elegant wedding card, or birthday card, or thinking of you.

I did a bridal shower card myself.  With my own 5th anniversary next week, I was remembering way back when I was excited to be a new bride and celebrating my wedding.  The excitement of my bridal shower only a few weeks before and how my DH and I have celebrated every anniversary since then with a trip to Cuba! (We leave on the 15th on Jan 😉 )

I found this envelope from a B&W swap that I did on a yahoo group ages ago and so I wanted to start using it.  Thus my card is mainly black and white with just a bit of color. (forgive my thumb..the card front is cut in half so it doesn’t sit properly like a normal card)

The black paper on the inside of the card is actually floral embossed altho it’s hard to tell.  I used some stickles on her dress for some glimmer and some $$ store pearls.  The flowers came from the stash swap and I added some stickles to the brad.  I distressed the edges of the DP and added a bit of ink here and there on some edges.  I cut the image out using my Spellbinders.  I also added a border punch to imitate some lacy edging..

I hope you will join in our challenge this week.  You have until 11:59EST on Wednesday January 5 to upload your card using the link on the challenge blog!  If you are uploading from an online gallery please us AIF061 so we can find your card.  Also if you upload your card to our online community gallery, you can win a $10 GC to our store!  Speaking of our store, we have some great images that you can use for this challenge in there as well as some freebies so make sure you check it out!
