UYS #487 Hearts

Hey there!

We’ve got our latest and greatest up on the Use Your Stuff blog right now! Our theme is hearts! This should be an easy one everybody! All you have to do is add a heart to your project and link it up for us to admire!

I think I might have gone overboard with the hearts here! LOL I had a couple different kinds of heart paper that I put together and then I added this fun heart die cut that I just got! Too much??? LOL

Be sure to stop by our blog and check out the DT projects too! There is a lot of love going down over there!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

#477 Use Your Stuff

Hey there! Our first challenge for February is up at Use Your Stuff and in honor of my birthday on the 11th, the theme is numbers!

Not sure why I went with a Halloween project, maybe it’s because I was getting bug-eyed creating birthday cards for a group I’m in and needed a change! I just used bits and bobs from my Halloween box for my ATC so nothing really to link to on this one! ATC’s are a great way to use up those little pieces of whatever may be on your desk and a great way to practice your layering as well!

Head on over to the UYS blog and play along with us! Don’t forget to leave some love for the DT!

Use Your Stuff # 427- Summer Fun

Hey there! So it’s been a very long time since I’ve joined in on a challenge for Use Your Stuff but I hope to be doing more of them!

This week’s challenge is Summer fun….anything really to do with summer! I’m sure many of us are enjoying the sunny days right now.

I created a fun card for a summer birthday!

I got this fun new die from Crafty Addicts and I really wanted to use it! I cut it out just in black cardstock and then placed some of the squares back in. I then added some fun Doodlebug stickers. The plaid paper is my go to from Lawn Fawn! The sentiment is from one of my SCT stamp sets. I really like this die and I think I will be using it a lot.

Come on over to the UYS blog, see what the DT has created and please play along with us!

UYS #422 Stencil

Have a stencil that you’ve never used before or one that is a go to favorite? We want to see it over on the Use Your Stuff blog! That’s the challenge theme for the next two weeks….stencils!

I dug out a Vicki Boutin butterfly stencil that I’ve had forever but never used. I’m pretty sure that it came in one of my SCT samplers at some point and so I figured this was as good a time as any to pull it out.

I decided to go with a rainbow and used a few colors from the Tim Holtz distress inks as well as some Lawn Fawn. I added a few enamel dots from Echo Park and then the sentiment is from Avery Elle and I realized one of the few that actually have a Mother’s Day sentiment on it in my collection!

I hope that you will join and play along in our challenge. You can find all the deets on the blog here! You can also stop by and see the great projects others on the DT have created for you!

UYS #420 Spring

Hey everyone! I’m here with this week’s challenge on Use Your Stuff!

This week we are going with a Spring/Easter theme.

I was recently at my farm for some much needed R&R and manage to take a few supplies with me to create some cards. Mainly a few SCT Samplers which are perfect! Some papers and embellishments, bring along some cardstock and you could make quite a few cards!

This one I created using the March 2019 SCT Sampler with my goodies from Doodlebug, which you all know is one of my favorite companies!

Sorry the picture is a bit off….I couldn’t do a reshoot as I have sent this out to a friend to well…brighten their day 🙂

I knew I wanted to create a card using that adorable flower Doodlepop! I stamped the sentiment from a SCT delivered stamp set that we received from the card crop that we did a couple of weeks ago! It has cute rainbows and clouds and then a few sentiments to match. It was designed by Becky Moore!

I stamped it with some Stampin Up Bermuda Bay ink. I’m trying to branch out from my usual black! A few drops of the iridescent Nuevo drops.

I hope you like it and be sure to stop by the Use Your Stuff blog to play along and to check out what the rest of the DT has created for you.

Hello Walt

Hello Monday Peeps!  Have you stopped by the UYS blog today? Our new challenge is up!  This week we are using triangles!

So I decided to go with a layout today because I really wanted to try a background die cut.  I came across this one from Bits and Pieces .   which I uploaded to my Cricut Explore Air and then cut out.   I thought it would be fun to do a Disney Layout and back the pieces with my Disney papers.  The actual diecut is called Shattered Glass but it has some fun triangle pieces to it.

I used DP from Simple Stories & Echo Park, as well as their embellishments.  The sentiments are die cuts from Stampin Up and the internet.

I hope you like the layout and feel free to stop by the blog and play along with this week’s challenge!

Hi!  Welcome to my part in the UYS summer blog hop…you should have arrived from   Christine’s blog.  If you haven’t you can go back to the start of the hop on the UYS blog so you don’t forget anyone….all the links are at the bottom of this post too, just in case you get lost!

I love summer!  Here in Calgary, in my house anyway, summer means camping and a lot of time outdoors.  We have a lot of winter here in Canada..sometimes up to 8 or 9 months of it, so when that warm weather hits, you know we are outside!

Summer always makes me think of fun, bright colors. Everything seems so much more vibrant and alive!  So for my project, I wanted to share with you some embellishments that I made in a class I took at Crop & Create with Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine.   The class was hosted by one of my crafting idols Vicki Boutin!  We were using her new line of products from American Crafts and they are just so fun…there are stickers and water color stickers, die cuts, crayons and oh so much more!  These embellishments are made with fun, vibrant uses of color.  They give you the happy feeling inside and that’s what summer is all about!  Happy happy fun fun!! 🙂

We were learning to just have fun and create layers and textures to make some knock out embellishments.  Don’t throw away those scraps…instead, grab them along with some adhesive, some pop dots and whatever little bits and bobs you might have around and create some amazing embellishments while you binge watch your favorite shows!

I hope you enjoy these and I hope you will create some of your own to use on some great layouts or cards. Now you are off to Majo’s blog  to see what great summer fun she has for you but the list is below just in case you lose your way!

Feathers! UYS Challenge # 263

Have you stopped by the Use Your Stuff blog yet?  We have a fun feather challenge up for you to play along with…feather stamp, stencil, die, doodle….if you have a feather, we want to see it! The DT have some really great projects for you this week!

Here’s mine, with a bit of mixed media play!

IMG_20170329_171216

I just had fun with this. I used some milk paint and some distress inks…a little stamping and inking. The feathers and die are from Stampin Up.  The script stamp I have had in my stash forever!. I got the little heart tag in a swap and the ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to head over to the blog to play along and see what the other DT has created for you!

I heart you

I’m a bit behind the ball here!  Our new challenge is up on the Use Your Stuff blog and Tammy C’s challenge is to use hearts on your project.

That shouldn’t be too hard considering that it is getting close to Valentine’s Day and many of us are working on VDay related projects right!

Here is a card I created! I’ve been hanging around in the Cricut Design space this last week seeing what I can play around with and this was one of the cards that we could create!

The DP in the back is from Papermania in a collection called Red Hot.  I got this as a gift years ago and have been trying to use it up!  The heart hands are from the Cricut design space (i’m not sure which cartridge it is from as it was one of those Make it Now projects)  and then I went over it all with my wink of Stella pen for a little glitz.

I hope you like it and don’t forget to play along with us!

ATC’s

I’ve got another couple ATC’s made for a challenge on Swap-bot.com.  The themes are Valentine’s Pink and Thank you.  I decided to create them with the new challenge at Use Your Stuff in mind.  Our challenge is to use Paint.  I don’t actually have a lot of paint but I did manage to find a few.

For the Thank you one, I used paint to color the bird and on the Valentine’s day one, I used some crackle paint on the heart as well as some white paint around the edges of the ATC which is a bit hard to see.  I hope you like them and don’t forget to play along this week on the blog.
