TMS #693

Hiya! I hope you have been playing along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches. We have another favorite for you. We are working with Melissa’s favorite this go round. This was one of my fave’s for the year as well.

So back in October when we introduced this challenge, this was my card.

Here’s my new one!

I pulled out my case with all my Valentine’s papers and embellishments and so I will be doing a lot with them this month. For this one, I am using a lot of pieces and papers from the Love Me Do collection from My Mind’s Eye…..go back to 2009! That’s how long it’s been sitting in my stash! Quite a different color palette from the first time I played with this sketch right! There’s a little bit of heart washi in there too.

I hope you like it, come along and play with us and as an added bonus, try and find something that you have had in your stash for quite a while and breathe some new life into it ok! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you on the blog!

Ooohhh check out this great theme for this week’s challenge at Make the Cards Challenge blog!

I’m gonna be honest, it’s been awhile since I’ve used Washi for anything so I was pretty happy for this challenge.

I finally cracked open this strawberry stamp set that I got from Lawn Fawn along with the Lawn Fawn Basket die. I also added some of their dot paper to go with my dotted washi border. I just did some basic coloring with my copics and I added some leaves from another die set I had.

This is a super easy challenge and I’m sure you have some washi that is in a drawer in your stash….bust it open, go for one that you’ve not used yet – plan your card around it….it’s a fun challenge to give yourself!

I’ll be stopping by your blog to see what fun you have come up with!

BRRRR! It’s a cold day here in Calgary folks! I hope it is warm where you are. If you are inside and looking for some scrappy inspiration…we have a great sketch up at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

We are using Patti’s favorite this week!

I love this sketch. It is such a great one to use, especially if you want to do a lot of cards in a short amount of time…it has great simple elements that you can keep simple or go to town on!

I created another Valentine’s card. I had this gorgeous vintage piece that I knew I wanted to use and so I just built my card around that. I used some washi for the lines and some paper from American Crafts xoxo collection. A simple word sticker and some nuevo drops to finish it off.

Now, head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the DT has created for you with this great sketch to see how versatile it is! Don’t forget to play along with us!

Freezing My Baguettes Off

Did the title sound familiar?  Have you ever watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation…..then you understand the title!

I picked up an awesome set of stamps from The Ink Road called Are you Serious Clark?  It’s all images and sayings from the movie.

I decided to use this one for our Anything Goes with a side twist of non-traditional colors on the Christmas at Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog this week!  My colors are black/white/red.  The DP is from MME and I added some washi and some enamal dots for just a bit of added layers.

Head on over to our blog and join in on the fun…what will you create?  Will you choose the optional challenge of non-traditional colors too???  Looking forward to seeing it!

A pretty fairy

Happy Friday everyone!  For us here in Canada, this is what we refer to as “May Long”…as in May long weekend or Victoria Day and unofficially the beginning of camping season!  I unfortunately am not camping this weekend, although my husband is heading to our farm in Saskatchewan to open it up for the year!

We have a fun new challenge for you at Brown Sugar Challenge blog..this week’s theme is WASHI!  Break it out and use it up everyone!

Our sponsor this week is All Dressed Up.  They have such lovely images!

My image is called Flower Fairy…I think she is just adorable.

So again, just using some DP from my stash bin.  My washi is from Simple Stories and it is the 2 strips of yellow dots on this card!  My sequins are from Neat and Tangled  (sweetheart sequin mix) and the sentiment is from Stampin Up (butterfly basics).  I colored the image with my copics.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to stop by the blog to play along and see what the rest of the DT has created to inspire you this week!
