You are my sunshine

Hello all!

Just a fun card today…I am in a swap on a FB group called Canadians Crafting with Paper.  Our theme is BEACH.

So, here’s the card I created for my partner.  I did a little bit of mixed media for the background using some of the Tim Holtz distress inks.  I then cut a circle out with my sizzix die and added some sequins, pearls and glitter to create a shaker.  I put a little bit of the turquoise cardstock behind the shakers so it blended a bit better.   I colored my image from CC Designs (DUDE – I actually cracked this one open for the first time although I think I’ve had it for at least 2 or 3 years in my stash!) with my copics and stamped the sentiment from Hello Bluebird.  A few enamel dots from Michael’s and voila!  I’m really pleased with how it turned out and I hope my partner likes it!

Flutterby, Butterfly

Oh wow! I am so sorry, I forgot to post my challenge yesterday for Lollipop Crafts and we have such a good one!  Robyn’s Fetish is graciously sponsoring this week’s butterfly challenge!  I’m sure you’ve seen her images all over blog land and she has such cute ones too!  We would love to see butterflies on your project!  It can be the main focus or a cute embellishment as in the case of my card!  Make sure you stop by the challenge blog for all the details and to win some great images from Robyn!

Here’s my DT card this week:

I colored my image using copics of course.  Cut out with my shaped nestiblity.  I added some flocking for the grass and a few brads for some added dimension.  The butterflies are just ones that I picked up at the dollar store ages ago and not used yet.  The paper was sent to me as part of a paper swap on http://www.swap-bot.com (if you like to do swaps, check it out!)  I hope you enjoy it and make sure you stop by the Lollipop challenge blog for all the deets on this week’s challenge and also to see all the great creations by the DT this week! FABULOUS!

Getting excited

It’s almost time for the next monthly challenge with my pal Cath over at C-Cubed x 2. As you know each month we do a card kit swap.  She sends me one and I send her one, each of us having all the same supplies and we make a card from each kit and post on our blogs.  I love seeing how creativity differs when everyone has the same supplies to work from.  She already received mine and has her two all made up.  I’m just waiting on her kit which hopefully will be here before the 30th, which is reveal day. Canada Post is not my friend.  The theme for this month is ‘masculine’.  Can’t wait to see what we do!  Make sure you stop by so you don’t miss it.  If you missed our previous month, you can find it here.
