My Guys

After a bit of a hiccup in our challenge blog (we believe we were hacked) we are up and running again at Creative Corner Challenges!  We have a new challenge for you hosted by Tina (who has a little prize for this week’s winner).  We want to see eyelets and/or brads on your projects this week.  It can be one or it can be many.

I have a layout for you this week of my husband and sweet boy.  This was taken a few years ago when we did our annual family vacation to Cuba.  It was the first one with Riley and so he is six months old in these pics.  We were just getting Riley used to the water and he took to it like a fish.  He still loves it!

The DP is from my stash and it’s the Bella Blvd Super Stud collection. I added a few brads in the circles and just a little bling on some edges.  I hope you like it.

Hello and Happy Summer!  We at Digi Haven have a great challenge for you this week.  It’s all about Summer!

Use any FREE digital Summer/Beach/Surf image you wish. The image can be a forever freebie, limited time freebie or freebie of the month as long as it’s free for the duration of this challenge.  Please be sure to link back to the original artist or website on your blog.  This Challenge ends on Thursday and the winners will be posted on Sunday.

I went to a scrapbook garage sale recently and in one of my grab bags I got this great set entitled A Drink a Day by There She Goes Stamps.  It went perfectly with the digi I found for this challenge.

Here is my card for you this week.

The digi can be found here.  I colored it with my copics. The DP is pretty old.  I am using more from the pack that I think  is called Grandma’s Attic but I have no idea who it is by.  Look familiar to anyone?? I kept the embellishments pretty simple, just the paper piercing and the little ribbon and just one bling.  I really wanted to focus on the image and the fun sentiment.

I hope you enjoy my card as much as I do and please stop by the blog to see what the other DT has created for you!

Hello Summer blog hop!

Hey there! Welcome to my leg of the Hello Summer blog hop celebrating the first day of summer.  You should have arrived from Paula’s Blog.  if you are just starting here, head on over to Ashley’s blog where the fun starts and she also has not only the blog lineup but the list of great prizes that you can win as well.

I hope you are having fun so far and checking out all the great projects.  Honestly, I totally forgot that today was the first day of summer.  My days seem to blend in together! Summer always reminds me of the trips I took to Europe several years ago.  One of my favorite places was Rome.  I wandered the cobblestone streets for hours just soaking up the sun, culture and atmosphere of such an amazing city.  If I could, I would return in a heartbeat and experience it all over again!

This is the card I created for the hop today.

I received this image for a card challenge at my LSS and it just brought back all those European memories for me again.  When I looked at it, the first thing that came to mind was watercolor painting.  So I decided to color it with my watercolor pencils instead of my Copics this time.  The DP is so old in my stash that I don’t even remember the name of it.   I thought it was called Grandma’s Attic but I’m not sure.   The sentiment is one that is left over from the package that I won in a blog hop and is MME.  The flowers and ribbon are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope that your summer is amazing and that today is just the start! You are now off to visit Ellen and see what fun she has for you!

It’s a Circle Frenzy

This week’s new challenge at Sarah Hurley is all about circles..whether they are doodled, die cut, freehand, punched, dots or a round shaped anything..we want to see it! All the details can be found on the Sarah Hurley Challenge blog this week which you can find here, and you’ll want to see all the great DT inspiration for you this week…You have until July 10th to enter your project to win a great prize from Sarah…

Here’s what I have for you this week.  I used my circle punches to just cut out a variety of cardstock and patterned paper from Sarah’s Woodland Whimsies and Wonderland CD’s.  The image which I colored with copics was sent to me in a swap.  I added just a bit of embossing with my scor-buddy. To finish it off, I just used some tiny type alphas in keeping with the circular theme.  I hope you like it and I can’t wait to see what you come up with for this week’s challenge.

A sponsored Challenge at Sarah Hurley

Hey everyone!

This week on the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog we are lucky enough to be sponsored by GallimaufryUK  digi kits. GallimaufryUK is the work of Penni Taylor, a fantastic scrapbook digi designer. She creates beautiful kits fthat are great for  digi and hybrid scrapping with papers, elements, alphabets, word art and so much more. Every kit is truly an inspiration. Please check out her blog and her store for lots of great products and inspiration!

The Design Team was given her Bloomin’ Lovely kit to work with and oh wow! The images on this are soooo pretty! Perfect for all your spring and summer layouts, whether you do digital projects or not~!  I don’t make digital layouts but I had such fun printing off these elements to use for my cards and layouts. You need to stop by the SH blog to see all the great DT inspiration for you!

Here is the card that I made for the summer themed challenge.  I know my card says Happy Spring, but believe me, here in Calgary Spring and Summer are pretty much the same thing..LOL you don’t get a lot of distinction when you have snow up until May!

I printed off the balloon, flowers and grass and then cut them out.  I added a bit of inking to the balloon and some stickles to the flower to add a bit of dimension.  The DP is also from GallimaufryUK.  I added a bit of fibre to accent the grass and the sky and some little letters that were given to me in a swap.  I am looking forward to seeing your entries into this week challenge, it runs until June 12th so you have lots of time to enter!

I’ve entered into the following challenges:

Creative Craft World: 3 or more flowers

Divas by Design: Florals

Fab & Funky: Whateva (and they are having a DT call too)

Truly Scrumptious: Summery Sparkle

A spoonful of Sugar: Flower Power

Paperminutes: Something in 4’s. (I have 4 flowers)

Party Time Tuesday: Anything Goes

It’s the Club CK Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall Blog Hop!!

Hello!!!

Welcome to the “Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!” Blog Hop, hosted by a talented group of ladies from Club CK. The blog hop runs from Thursday August 26th until Sunday August 29th.  You should have arrived here from Megan’s blog, but if you didn’t please go to the beginning of the hop to Stephanie { akaVirtually Froggy} and follow the blog hop in order. Everyone on the  blog hop from beginning to end  has a secret word that you need to collect, which spells a phrase.  This phrase will make you eligible for the grand prize. The details for grand-prize entry are posted at the start of the blog hop. You won’t want to miss it!
So our theme for this hop is sort of that transition period from where summer is just sorta ending and fall is right around the corner..**sigh**.  I live in Calgary Alberta, it always seems like summer is late to get here and fall and soon winter come too early! So I wanted to celebrate the last few days of summer with this card.  I chose this digital image from Kiki-Art which can be found here because I love the sentiment!  Living here where it seems to be winter for over half the year, you yearn for the sun..
I created this card using the new  line of Kiki-Art papers called ‘Sunny Bay’ which are found exclusively in the Scrapbook Magazine! Head over to your local Chapters, Indigo, Barnes & Noble etc and make sure you pick it up!  These papers are phenomenal!  They are sooo bright and cheery and just scream summer! I printed off the digital stamp and then just colored it with my copics!
I also have a giveaway for this blog hop!  One lucky winner is going to win these goodies..
My Mind’s Eye Paper Kit-Abbey Road
Quick Quotes Ribbon/Brad combo
Imaginisce Flowers-Lucy Bird
My Favorite Things Stamp-Tea with Flopsy
All you have to do is leave a comment and it would be great if you would become a follower too!  I will draw a winner on August 30th so make sure you leave me a way to contact you ie..email!  I hope that you have enjoyed my part of the hop and now you are off to Natalie to see what kind of fun project she has for you!   And I’m sure you are waiting for my word for this leg of the hop….it’s MORE
Happy Scrapping!
