Stamping with CTMH

Today’s second class was with Jill Broadbent of Close To My Heart and we learned some fun new stamping techniques. This is a really pretty stamp and die set that we were gifted with! It’s very spring like isn’t it!

These cards were super easy to make but with the extra time spent in the stamping, it really sets them off!

Entered into these challenges:

Craft Rocket Challenge: Use Dies and/or Spring

Moving Along with The Times: Spring is Coming

Allsorts Challenge: Spring Flowers

Daring Cardmakers: Spring Things

Fun with Gina K

Today’s Crop & Create Cards started off with a really fun class with Gina K of Gina K Designs. We learned some really great layered stenciling, which is not something that I do very much of, but definitely want to in the future.

I also really like the HELLO die cut that we received with our kit as well. I think that Gina said that this stamp set will be released a bit later on, so be sure to watch for it in her store!

Entered into these challenges:

Challenge Up Your Life: Flowers

Try it On Tuesday: Flowers

My Time to Craft: Stencils

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers: Layers

TMS #578

Tuesday is here again and so is my card for this week for Tuesday Morning Sketches!. The sketch is perfect for little scraps you have but just don’t want to throw away yet. It can make some really great cards.

Mine is using some Simple Stories scraps I had from another project and the image is from Craft Addicts. It’s a big collage stamp and I love it. I know I am going to get some use out of it.

I just added some little hearts to finish it off. I didn’t add a sentiment, although you could on any of the panels, because I wanted it to be an ‘any occasion card’.

Come play along with us on the blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for you!

We can’t wait to see. ūüôā

I decided to do some non-traditional colors for this card.¬† I did some smooching with my Tim Holtz distress inks in picked raspberry and peacock feathers.¬† The stamps are from Hampton Arts.¬† I think he’s just adorable.

Be sure to check out the blog today to see what the rest of the Gingerbread Gals have for you!

A coffee lover’s birthday

**if you are looking for the UYS blog hop click here**

Happy Friday all! Can you believe we are already into June…the year is 1/2 over already! It just seems to sneak in there!

Ok..so…..another fun challenge over at Brown Sugar Challenges….

our theme this week is CELEBRATIONS!

No doubt there is lots to celebrate in June…weddings, graduations, babies, birthdays…last day of school! woohoo!

Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps!  and our winner this week will receive 4 digital stamps! Sweet!

My card this week is for a friend who is a big coffee lover!  I thought it would be fun to make a coffee themed birthday card using JJ Coffee to Go.  I used the image for my card but it also comes with a sentiment as well.

I used some DP scraps that I had been working with for some previous projects and I stamped the cardstock using a couple of Stampin Up stamps (gorgeous grunge & timeless textures). ¬†The sentiment I just printed out on my computer. ¬†I added a few sequins from my stash, a star punch and the hat I stamped from another birthday stamp set (sorry can’t remember the name now!) and cut out. ¬†I colored JJ just with my copics and then die cut her with my favorite CC designs oval die.

I hope you like the card and be sure to stop by the blog so you can see what the other DT ladies have created for you and to play along! Can’t wait to see what you create!

Many Thanks – September Paper Pumpkin

So I started getting the paper pumpkin from Stampin’ Up. The September kit was a project I wasn’t really thrilled about so I decided to play around with some of the pieces for cards instead. I love the cute little fall stamps!

It works great for our challenge at Use Your Stuff this week, which is THANKFUL! So here is my card (with a little help from Pinterest! )

Another Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival….

So this past weekend, was my yearly trek to the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival hosted by the lovely ladies at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. ¬†This year’s theme was the 80’s and I totally got my groove on! ¬†It was so much fun! ¬†I am also excited to report that I will have 2 layouts published in the upcoming spring issue, so I cannot wait for you to see that! ¬†It will be one double layout and one single! ¬†So excited and grateful to Canadian Scrapbooker for allowing me to be a part of their amazing magazine that highlights such astounding talent from coast to coast!

While I was at Carnival, I decided to take a class. ¬†I’m not usually one for classes, I tend to want to hoard my scrapping time. ¬†However, I heard that Nicole Wright¬† (Canadian Nickle Scrap’n) was hosting a card class. ¬†I’m sure that you have seen her around blog land/Facebook, as she does amazing work for for Simon Says Stamp, Sizzix and Ranger (her 12 Days of Tim Tags are phenomenal! ). ¬†Anyway, she was doing a vintage card class and I really wanted to take it. ¬†I had so much fun, getting down and dirty with my distress inks!

Which kind of fits in with this week’s challenge over at Use Your Stuff….using markers and inks!

Isn’t that fabulous! ¬†She is such a nice person IRL and an amazing artist!

I hope that you will stop by Use Your Stuff this week and join us in our challenge.

Simplicity

A simple card. ¬†That is what I have for you today to go with our new challenge at Use Your Stuff this week. ¬†Our theme is ‘DOILY’. ¬†Incorporate a doily somewhere on your project, it can be an actual doily, a stencil, a stamp etc. ¬†I have only 1 doily stamp and I really do love it because it is so versatile. ¬†I needed to make a simple nondescript card that I could write a quick note in and mail off to a friend, so it also cannot be too bulky to mail.

I decided to do a bit of resist embossing.  Simple but some nice texture.  I stamped the image in my Versamark and then went over it with white embossing powder.  I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in peeled paint and shabby shutters.  To finish it off I just added some ribbon and a couple of flowers.

We hope you will play along with us this week on the blog and we can’t wait to see what you come up with.
