TMS #657

Hiya! We have a fun card sketch for you this week on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog.

This looks like a slimline but the DT has created some great examples of an A2 design with it and Raechelle has incorporated it into her layout, which is pretty cool!

I, myself, went the slimline route with this one.

I love this milkjug die that I’ve had in my stash for a bit. It’s fun to pull out and fill it with some awesome things. This time, I used some left over bits from a Simple Stories Simple Vintage Indigo Garden collection. I did some layout displays for the Scrapshotz booth at Creative Scrapbooker Carnival over the weekend and I knew I had a few bit left that would work for a card as well.

The DP is just from my stash but I love this color palette and I think it turned out well. Be sure to stop by the blog to see the DT and to play along with us this week.

iNSD with Scrapshotz Guest Designer

Hey everyone! It’s time for my challenge on the Scrapshotz Papercrafting Group on Facebook! I hope that you have been following along today with all the amazing challenges the designers have come up with for you !

My challenge is about layers.

Have some die cuts, enamel dots, embossing folders and stamps in your stash? What about wood veneers, buttons, gel pens and border punches…. any of these hanging out in your scrap space? Now is the time to pull these and any other embellishments you have out and use them to create some fun layers on your project. Don’t just put a cardstock mat behind your photo, stamp or emboss it first. Add an enamel dot or some Nuevo drops to your flower centers or scattered on your layout page. Layer some die cuts together and outline them with gel pens to make a fun cluster. Let’s not forget pop dots! Layering is a great way to add some textures and visual interest to your project and take it to the next level.

As I had mentioned, I was highlighting a previous card that I made (this one for Dragonfly Dreams)….

I really loved this card and it is one of the favorites that I’ve made. I added a lot of different layers here. Starting with my base you can see I have a die cut layer with a few details on it. I added a variety of flowers & leaves, again in layers, some of which were popped up with dots so that it adds a bit more interest. You can’t really tell but I also added an extra layer on some of these flowers with some Wink of Stella as well as some white gelly pen. I did layers for my HAPPY sentiment as well, and then some small gems.

It’s so easy to add layers to your project, with just what you have on hand. I hope that you will head on over to the FB page and play along with my challenge and some of the other ones as well. There is a ton of inspiration and of course prizes!

See you there.

Hellllloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Thanks for stopping by today! I’m off for a couple of days and it’s been raining here, so I’m definitely doing a bunch of scrapping! I really need some crafty time!

Without further adieu here is this week’s sketch up on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog! This is a super easy sketch to work with and you can really do a lot with it. I really enjoyed this one, and I was able to do a card in literally no time at all. It’s just some fun layers and then you can embellish however you want really.

I knew I wanted to use this big flower from my die cut bowl! I thought it would fit perfectly for this sketch! The DP is from ProvoCraft and it’s just a bunch of backgrounds in a variety of colors which I thought was perfect.

The sentiment was sent to me by a friend and so it was in my cup with the others (having a cup or bowl with a bunch of pre-made sentiments is perfect for when you have to quickly make a card). I recently won some Nevo gemstones from Scrapshotz so I decided to use them on this, since they were in gold and worked perfectly with my gold sentiment. I really like how this card turned out.

I hope you will stop by the blog and see what the rest of the DT has created and to play along with us as well!

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone, or for you Star Wars fans, Revenge of the Fifth!  I hope you managed to get crafty over the weekend for iNSD2020.  I played along in an online crop for one of my favorite stores and local scrapping community of Scrap Shotz!  It was supposed to be our spring crop at the community centre but given the circumstances…….Lots of great challenges and we still have until the 9th to get the projects in and win some prizes!!!  I will be sharing some of those later this week.

On to our Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge for you!  Here is this week’s sketch!

A great one and easy to incorporate into your own interpretation.  I am still working on some cards for a few charities associated with my husband’s company and so I took advantage of My Favorite Things free downloads they had last month and got some health care images.  I used one and a sentiment from them to do this card up

I colored the image with my copics.  The background is some old We R Memory Keepers Antique Chic.  I paired it with just some simple gold sequins from my stash.

I really hope you will play along with us this week and don’t forget to stop by the blogand see what the rest of the DT has created for you!

Happy Crafting everyone!

CCAYR- A Wintery Thanks

Here we are! Our first challenge of 2018 on the Christmas Cards All Year Round blog!  Our theme is THANKS!  In keeping with our challenge, it has to have a Christmasy/winter theme to it.

I had fun creating this card – I used some left over pieces from a card kit that I got from Scrapshotz.  The die cut deer I received in a swap and I love it!  I added some glittered accents in red for a pop of color.  Also, the thanks is from Stampin -up I believe. A few little gems to finish it off.

I hope you like it and don’t forget to stop by the blog and play along with us! We can’t wait to see what you create!

Fun with Gelatos

So our new challenge at Use Your Stuff this week is all about texture.  What better way to show texture than working with gelatos, gesso and modelling paste.  Such was the things our make and take were made of recently at a Scrapshotz crop.

We made this wicked card!  I love the colors and that paste and stencil just made some awesome texture on this card.  I thought those pink butterflies cut out with the sizzix just perfectly made this card.

The gelatos were a lot of fun to play with and such fun bold colors.  I may have to get me some!

In the mean time, make sure you stop by the blog today and join in this week’s TEXTURE challenge.  The DT has got some great inspiration for you this week.

Happy Mother’s Day

I know that most scrappers will be celebrating NSD in one form or another this weekend.  I know I will be.  I’m off to my annual crop being sponsored by Sandy over at  Scrapshotz all day Saturday with my friends and cannot wait!

We do have a challenge for you at Creative Corner Challenges this week, perhaps something to work on while you are celebrating.  It’s all about the special women in our lives, on their special day…it could be a mom, stepmom, grandma, favorite aunt or that one lady in your life that was like a mom to you.  We want to see your Mother’s Day projects this week.

The DT has some lovely projects for you.  Here’s mine.  I found the idea for this on pinterest weeks ago and really loved the simple style but enjoyed how it could be used for any type of card.  I just used some scrap DP from my box , but it allowed me to bring out the vellum which is something that I hadn’t used in awhile.  I stamped on it for the strip and the sentiment.  I cut the flowers out with a punch and then just ran over them with a tool to make the edges curl.

I hope you enjoy it and I hope you will play along with us.

Naughty or Nice

Happy Weekend Crafters!  I am excited because I am off to the Scrapshotz crop tomorrow.  After the stressful week I’ve been having I am looking forward to some ME time!

Here’s our new challenge at Creative Corner Challenges this week.  It’s FEMME FATALE!  All about the girls/women!  So link up with your female projects for a chance to win some digis from our great new sponsor IKEsArt!

Here is my card this week.

Again, I apologize for the less than crisp image.  I’m trying to find a new cord for my camera that I usually use for uploading and not having much luck.

The DP is from MME 12 Days of Christmas.  I’m trying to use up my 6×6 packs in their entirety before I start a new one…ummm ya…slow process 🙂    The image is colored with my copics and I added just a bit of stickles to her hair as she is a Christmas Pixie 🙂  The flower just came out of my embellishment box.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will play along with us.

Mama Mia-Challenge #79 Lollipop Crafts

Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed National Scrapbooking Day on Saturday.  I was lucky enough to spend it with my BFF and another good friend at a crop put on by Scrapshotz every year in May.  Always a lot of fun.

Our challenge at Lollipop Crafts this week is being sponsored by Meljen’s designs.  A favorite of mine to be sure.  Our challenge is Mama Mia, so any project paying tribute to that special woman in your life..could be mom, grandma, mother in law, daughter who’s a mom….that sort of thing

For my project today I wanted to share with you this really adorable card that we made for our make and take at the crop on Saturday.  Virginia from Scrapshotz’s design team always has THE BEST make and takes.

It’s really hard to tell, but the yellow paper actually has a honeycomb pattern in resist on it and then we inked over it with some chalk inks.  I used the yellow and you can see a very bit of the blue in there. Very cool.  The flower was cut from a spellbinders. Totally loving that 3D look.

We also created the ever cool tea bag holder.  I am still waiting to get the template on this one, so if anyone knows where it came from please let me know!

I hope you enjoyed today’s projects.  Feel free to stop by the Scrapshotz Blog for some great inspiration, tips and techniques, and join the forum for great challenges and a lot of fun!

Most importantly, don’t forget to stop by the Lollipop Crafts blog and enter into our challenge this week.

These have been entered into the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes: Mother’s day

World Cardmaking Day

Welcome to all of you joining me as we celebrate World Card Making Day 2011.  I hope that you are visiting from the Paper Crafts Magazine giant worldwide blog hop to help celebrate!

Today I want to share with you some Christmas cards that I made while attending the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival here in Calgary last weekend.  It was sponsored by Canadian Scrapbooker and wow! what a time we had! It was so much fun and a big thank you to CS and all the great sponsors that made it such an experience!

While I was there I visited one of my favorite online stores who had a booth set up, Scrapshotz based out of Calgary here.  Sandy always has such great product and her prices are awesome.  I managed to pick up a card kit on sale (as it was last years product from Basic Grey) and created these cards… really should check out her card kits, because I made these cards and still have tonz of product left over that I am currently working with.  I did add some embellishments that I already had, but you can make some stunning cards with just what is in the kit! Every month on the forum, the DT debuts a new kit and some projects for inspiration! While you are there, join the forum and participate in the awesome challenges, check out tutorials and meet a great bunch of ladies.  I’m excited to be attending one of Sandy’s crops in October! yay!

So here are the cards that I made…

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy these cards.  Just for fun to celebrate WCM day, I am giving away some candy…a surprise of scrappy goodies.  All you have to do is

1) become a follower

2) leave me a comment telling me either how you are spending WCMD or your favorite cropping experience

**international participants welcome**
