Happy Vanilla Ice Cream Day!

I LOVE creating cards for obscure holidays!  I find it fun to challenge myself to create a card that fits with the day….

Well, today is Vanilla Ice Cream Day and well guess what!  It’s an ice cream card for you!

dav

I was at the farm for the last week on vacation so I brought a few supplies with me, including the bits and bobs I had left over from this huge American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan kit that I won years ago….yes, I’m still trying to use it up and I’m almost there..

I really just took some of the DP and then some of the rub ons to make the card.  Nothing fancy.  The ice cream was actually on the back side of one of the papers …it had a bunch of cut aparts and so it was perfect for this card!

I hope you enjoy it, and go have an ice cream!

UYS Challenge # 259 – Flowers

Our challenge is up at Use Your Stuff this week, a popular theme of flowers.  Good thing I’ve been working with the Moonstruck collection this week from Pink Paislee.  It has tonz of flowers!

Here is my layout for this week! This is all Pink Paislee except for the Thickers which are from American Crafts and match this collection just beautifully! I hope you enjoy it and will play along with us on the blog. We can’t wait to see what you create!

UYS Challenge #257 Spring is in the Air!

Morning all!  I am fresh-ly back from an amazing weekend spent with the uber-talented ladies of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine and their 2nd annual Crop & Create Calgary.  What an amazing time and the love and inspiration these ladies share with us is just incredible, not to mention their AMAZING sponsors!

Today for our Spring is in the Air Challenge on the Use Your Stuff blog I want to share a layout that I created over the weekend in Vicki Boutin’s Cluster’s, Bubbles and Layers, Oh My! Class.  In this class, Vicki walked us through some fun techniques for creating little clusters and adding dimension with layers and (your friend) foam dots!  We used an amazing kit of papers and embellishments from Pink Paislee’s Moonstruck collection.  This collection is not normally colors that I work with but after creating some amazing layouts I really do love it!

This is the single layout that we created and I thought that those beautiful fussy cut flowers are a perfect indicator of spring.  We used an awesome technique with black paint and dishsoap – blowing bubbles (so much fun!) that you can see on the white cardstock layer.

” Blossom to Awesome” – Vicki Boutin

This layout also used a bunch of rub ons from the collection (I had forgotten how much fun rub ons can be) as well as some of the ephemera pack!

I hope you like the layout, and I hope you will play along with our challenge.  Be sure to click on the link attached to Vicki’s name above so that you can check out her artist page on FB where she will be highlighting some techniques, tutorials and just fun with her new Vicki Boutin Line with American Crafts! Woohoo! We got to see and play with some of  these at C&C and they are freaking fantastic!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Sticky Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It has been a long week in my house as my son has been sick again.  He just got over his ear infection and then he got hand/foot/mouth disease.  He’s been cooped up inside for awhile now and he’s going stir crazy and so is his mama! 🙂

We have a great new challenge for you at Use It Tuesday this week.  It’s a Sticky situation when we want you to use the sticky parts of your stash…those rub-ons (oh do I have a lot of those), embossing powders and stickers (everyone has some in their stash, I know it!)..or anything else that sticks….

I created this card using some Glubbers…I bought them 2 years ago when they first came out and never once used them!  I also used a couple of different rub ons for this card in the sentiment and the little stitches.  I also broke out my glue gun and used it to adhere the bling to the flower! I’m now using my glue gun for EVERYTHING! LOL

The DP is the last of my MME All Spice 6×6 pack.  Another one bites the dust…I am so happy I am finally using them up!   The ribbon and the bling flower are from my stash as well.  I got the sketch for this card from Andrea Walford’s blog .  Every week she comes out with a great sketch that is easy to do and has step by step instruction.  Love them!  Thanks Andrea!

Make sure you stop by the UIT blog to see the wicked inspiration we have for you this week.  There are some great sticky bits in our stashes this week. 🙂

Embellish It

Happy Monday all! It’s a new challenge day at Lollipop Crafts, this week being sponsored by

Inked Treasures!

Our challenge for you this week is to EMBELLISH IT! Use 3 embellishments on your projects.  Easy Peasy..who doesn’t love to embellie!!!

Here is my card for today

For my embellishments I chose ribbon, bling and brads.  I also have a rub on there that says Happy Birthday!  A simple birthday card using some scraps.

Make sure you stop by the Lollipop blog to see the great inspiration my team has for you this week and to play along!

Robyn’s Fetish…….this week at Lollipop Crafts Robyn is offering one lucky winner  5 digital images or 4 digital images and one digital paper set of your choice. What a great prize! It’s the sponsor spotlight today on the blog so you can find out all about Robyn and her great images as well as see some new inspiration pieces from the Design Team.

Here is the one that I created using a sketch that Gloria had put up back in April for the CanadianScrapSwapChat monthly card challenge.  This month we had to pick a previous sketch and use it for a new piece.

All the paper are just scraps from my stash (I can’t believe that I have so many, even after I did a scrap swap!)  The ribbon is from my stash. I used one of my MS border punches.  The stitching is fake using some old rub-ons that I found that I have had FOREVER!  I colored Robyn’s image using my Copics.   The THANKYOU is an old rub on as well.  This is just a really simple card.  It’s hard to tell from the picture but the orange border isn’t glued down all the way so that it kinda sticks up a bit for a bit of dimension.

Enjoy and you still have time to enter this week’s recipe challenge at LC! You can find out more here.

I’ve entered this in the following challenges:

FabnFunky Challenges: Stitching

Ruby’s Rainbow: Stitching

City Crafter Challenge: Scrap Happy (use scraps..)

Shopping Our Stash: Our Weakest Link (that thing you just have to buy..for me RIBBON! I have soooooooooooooooooo much ribbon it’s crazy).

Try it on Tuesday: Anything Goes
