Confessions of a Paper Addict
Hey Gang! Mosey on over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog where you will find this week’s awesome sketch and a spot to enter your creation!

Hello! I know it has been a dry spell on my blog. My mom had emergency brain surgery at the end of July and I went to BC to help with things for the first couple of weeks while she started her recovery. She is one lucky lady, lucky to be alive and she is starting the long road to recovery. She has very little damage from the aneurysm or the surgery so that is really great!
I have been trying to play catch up this week as I have a bunch of projects that I will be showing you over the next couple of weeks, although I leave to go on my holidays August 19-29th. Camping! Cannot wait! Thank goodness for autoposting!
On to this weeks Use it Tuesday challenge…..ALL ABOUT SCHOOL! The start of school is fast approaching which of course signals that summer will soon be over. My little guy Riley starts preschool this year so I am excited and apprehensive at the same time. Its a big thing right??? 🙂
I have a fun little card for you today.
Everything on this card is from my stash this week, nothing is new. The paper pack is from Fancy Pants and is called Off to School. I found a big shoebox full of ephemera which is where that flash card came from so I am not sure who makes it. The stars were cut out using an Epiphany Crafts punch that I won in a prize pack last year I think! I believe I’ve only ever used it once before and it’s been awhile! It is a great tool and I think I need to use it more often! I also won a circle one too which I have not used yet. The ribbon, twine and notebook punch are all from my stash. I’ve not used them in awhile either. I don’t think I’ve ever used that ribbon! I don’t even know where it came from..LOL
I hope you enjoyed my card and make sure you stop by the Use it Tuesday blog to see the other great projects the DT has for you this week and to enter the challenge!
Be sure to tell us in your post what you used! Don’t forget, you have to use your hoarded supplies for each of our challenges and let us know what it was!
Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday August 24th. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE037 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating. (you can find tips for linking up on our blog!)
As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge
Now GO USE IT! and I am looking forward to stopping by your blogs to comment! 🙂
Happy Crafting everyone!
It’s a new challenge at Sarah Hurley this week. Thanks to all of our participants for last week’s summer challenge. Great job to everyone and the winners are posted on the blog. This week, Ria has given us the challenge of adding handmade flowers to our projects. A great challenge to be sure.
I have used the DP and image from Sarah’s new Oz collection which can be found here. This collection is adorable! I printed out the clip art version of Glinda rather than doing my own coloring this time. I cut her out and added some stickles to her wings for a bit of sparkle. I made my flowers using ribbon rather than paper for this challenge. I really liked how they turned out and I just added a little pearl to the centre of each one. I used my new MS punch that I picked up yesterday to add a bit of border to my card. The sentiment came as part of a swap. Enjoy and I look forward to seeing your projects this week.

Well a few things to tell you today…
It’s a new challenge over at AIF. I don’t have a card for you today…I’ve been really busy this week with work and with Riley that I haven’t had a chance. I hope to get one done this weekend. It’s a Valentine’s Day/Love theme so for those of you still making Valentine cards, it’s right up your alley…
Make sure you check out the challenge blog for all the deets and…there’s a freebie there for you as well.
Also head on over to the Lollipop Crafts site and check out the Sponsor Spotlight, which this week is Meljen’s Designs..love her work and she has a bunch of freebies that you just have to pick up..they are adorable!!!
Here is the card that I created for the spotlight..I just love this guy..remember you saw him a couple of days ago on my tag
I just made this card with some scraps, a border punch and some buttons. The sentiment is Create with TLC.. colored with copics and some chalk to highlight.
Well here it is…day 2 of my A Card a Day challenge or as it will be referred to from now on ACAD. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this one turned out. I’m not posting the inspiration piece this time but I did come very close to what it is. If you have the book, take a look.
I decided, and this was a hard one for me, to crack open my Basic Grey 6×6 pack..Eva. I have about 10 BG packs, none of which have been opened yet and I’ve had them for ages. I just loved the colors of this one. The brad is AC adn the ribbon from my stash. The sentiment is Stampin Up. The rubon across the top is from my stash as well which I just added to a punched piece of scrap cardstock. I don’t know what the sticker flower diecut is. I found it in a basket and decided to build this card around that. I hope you like it. All the edges are inked with Memento Rich Cocoa.
I’ve entered this card into the following challenges:
