CCC – Use a Die Cut

Ok everyone…time to work on this week’s Christmas project! At Christmas Craft Creations our new challenge has been up and you still have time to get in on it! Our theme this month is DIE CUTS! No doubt you have some of those lying around that you can use on a Christmas project!

Here’s mine for a Christmas card!

The image is from my stash as is the paper and twine. For the die cut I used some nesting dies from Sizzix. These are a go to set for me. I added some enamel dots and colored the adorable penguin with my copics. I hope you will swing by the blog and enter into the challenge that you can find here

CCAYR – December

Hey there! I am happy to announce that I am a new Design Team Member for Christmas Cards All Year Round.Christmas Cards All Year Round.  I am super happy to be on the team and I’ve been playing in the challenges for awhile now.

So this month’s challenge is Anything Goes – as long as it is holiday/winter/Christmas themed.

Here is my card for this month!

I decided to do some non-traditional colors for this card.  I did some smooching with my Tim Holtz distress inks in picked raspberry and peacock feathers.  The stamps are from Hampton Arts.  I think he’s just adorable.

Be sure to check out the blog today to see what the rest of the Gingerbread Gals have for you!

Robin Williams Tribute-RCS challenge

It was a sad day when Robin Williams left this earth.  My comedic hero and the only person who could really make me laugh so hard I could pee and cry at the same time!  I was so sad to hear that he had died.  I honestly think we will never see a comedic genius like his again and the world has lost such a tender soul.  We could all use more laughter in our lives and to see such a candle extinguished makes my heart sad.

At Red Carpet Studio this week we are paying tribute to Robin, by challenging you to be inspired by the man or his movies/television career.

We want to see you projects that had a Robin influence on you.  He had such a full career that there are so many to draw your inspiration from.

I chose Happy Feet for my inspiration.  A wonderful film that I enjoy watching with my son and always puts a song in my heart and a smile on my face.

I always thought that this penguin from the Creative Critters cartridge was kinda cute.  After I cut him out, I just outlined him a bit with some broken lines to make him stand out more.  The DP is just from my stash and I added some crackle accents to the balloons for a little added texture.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.  I hope you like it and I do hope you will play along with us this week.

Gingerbread Christmas

Hi everyone! I am late in getting this post up.  My days are just blending together as I prepare for the holidays.

We have some new inspiration pieces for you on the Digital Delights blog today.  Lots of wonderful projects for you to enjoy.  My card for you today is highlighting Gingerbread Slippy who is just the cutest character ever!!!

I am using the pre-colored image but he does come in black and white as well.  He is paired with the Gingerbread  Hugs Sentiment as well.  The DP is from my stash so I’m not sure who it is by and then I added some ribbon I received in a swap.  I didn’t want to make this too complicated because I didn’t want to distract from the image.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to swing by the blog and see what the other designers have for you today!  This is our last post until the New Year so that the team can spend time with their families over the holidays.

Merry Christmas from my house to yours!

Cool Penguin

I have another challenge card for you today! We have a new challenge up at Penny’s Paper Crafty.  It’s a fancy fold challenge  (so you need more than the one fold, think front step, side step, gatefold etc )and we have lots of fun sponsors for you for this one.  All the details can be found on the blog here.

Here is my gatefold card.  I have to admit, fancy folds are not something I am good at.  I really should practice more because there are some great ones on the blog today.

104 Tammy penguinI’m highlighting a Crafty Sentiments image.  Isn’t he cute!

I colored him with my copics and then added some chalk around.  The iceflow I used stickles for just to make it glitter a bit.  The DP was sent to me in a Christmas swap from the UK and I love it.  I added some flourishes from Sizzix and a button to keep the card closed.  I hope you like it and we look forward to seeing your project in this week’s challenge!
