Simon Says Stamp: STAMPTEMBER!

Well, it took some time but my wonderful stamp set from Simon Says Stamp arrived. I was graciously given a stamp set as part of their annual Stamptember event! Every day this month, they have a wonderful collaboration with a stamping company to bring you some amazing exclusive sets! There’s prizes, inspiration and shopping codes. Let’s also not forget about the golden bone…..a very special prize given to 4 lucky people who order during this event!

I was given the Raindrops 6×8 stamp set.

Alternate Image Thumb Number 1

This is a gorgeous set with lots of beautiful sentiments and a wide variety of raindrops that you can mix and match to make your own backgrounds or to add as embellishments to your projects.

I have 2 cards for you today.

For this card, I stamped three of the larger raindrops and two of the smaller ones randomly on a sheet. I then heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I went over it in a rainbow of colors of ink to simulate a rainbow. I added the sentiment and a little vellum cloud. I also added some cute little iridescent rainbow pearls that are from Studio Katia.

For my second card, I paired one of the sentiments with a Gina K die set that I have in my stash. I created the background using some distress inks & water and then smooching that onto some Brea Reese cardstock. Again I added the raindrop pearls to finish this card.

I love how these turned out and I am especially thankful to Simon Says Stamp for allowing me to play along in their event this year. Make sure you stop by their blog each day so that you don’t miss out on the amazing collaborations that they have and also check out the store and pick up your exclusive products today! Once they are gone, they are gone so don’t wait!

UYS #407

Hi All! So October is here. Wow, everything just seems to be flying by!

Have you stopped by the Use Your Stuff blog yet? Our new theme for this month is up…..we are heading NAUTICAL for the next 2 weeks….this could be colors, beaches, something you find in/on the water….take it where you will!

I dug out my Neat and Tangled stamp set for this one!

I just embossed this images with some black embossing powder and did some basica coloring with my copics. The DP is from my stash box so I’m not sure who it is by. I popped up the images using some foam dots and slid them in behind the Lawn Fawn borders. Just a titch of red twine and we are done!

I hope it helps to inspire you to play along with us! You can see the rest of the DT creations on the blog here!

Happy Mother’s Day

I know that most scrappers will be celebrating NSD in one form or another this weekend.  I know I will be.  I’m off to my annual crop being sponsored by Sandy over at  Scrapshotz all day Saturday with my friends and cannot wait!

We do have a challenge for you at Creative Corner Challenges this week, perhaps something to work on while you are celebrating.  It’s all about the special women in our lives, on their special day…it could be a mom, stepmom, grandma, favorite aunt or that one lady in your life that was like a mom to you.  We want to see your Mother’s Day projects this week.

The DT has some lovely projects for you.  Here’s mine.  I found the idea for this on pinterest weeks ago and really loved the simple style but enjoyed how it could be used for any type of card.  I just used some scrap DP from my box , but it allowed me to bring out the vellum which is something that I hadn’t used in awhile.  I stamped on it for the strip and the sentiment.  I cut the flowers out with a punch and then just ran over them with a tool to make the edges curl.

I hope you enjoy it and I hope you will play along with us.

A world of Good Wishes

I am hosting this week’s card challenge on the Club CK forum.  My challenge, a black and white only card.  I am seriously on a black and white kick right now.  So this is the card that I made.  I made about 4 versions of this one actually.   2 to give away in a swapbot exchange and then 2 to sell at my craft fairs in November 🙂

A simple card.  I embossed the white piece and then using my Spellbinders, cut out a couple of circles for the sentiment.  A few die cut butterflies and some ribbon.  The black butterfly was heat embossed using some white embossing powder and my french script wood stamp.

Entered into the following challenges:

Meljen Designs: Use a ribbon

My Mum’s Craft Shop Challenges: Inspired by a song (Black & White: Michael Jackson)

A Fairy Hello

Hello! I hope that you moms out there had a lovely Mother’s Day yesterday.  There is nothing I am more proud of than being a mom to my little Riley.  I can’t believe he’ll be 2 in July!  Time does fly.

Today is a new challenge on the Lollipop Crafts blog.  We are being sponsored by Soft Pencil this week

and here is the link to their site and you can check out all the great digital images & all that Elizabeth has to offer.  Our challenge this week is a fancy folds one…so we’d like to see creations with more than one fold on them.  Here is mine for this week.

The image is from SoftPencil’s Tinytwinies which the DT got to play with.  So cute. This is the Charming Flowers image. How adorable is this!  I colored her using my Copics. I used some Sarah Hurley digital papers for this card. She has some great stuff so make sure you check the link! The main butterfly was cut using a scrap piece from the card and then the other accent butterflies I cut out using some scrap cardstock and then I doused them with versamark and applied some clear embossing powder to them to give them some shine and some texture.  I also added a little bit of bling to them.  The ribbon was part of a swap on Swap-bot that I received.  The sentiment is using my tiny type letters.  I haven’t used these for so long I practically had to blow the dust off. I also added some stickles to her wings and the fairy dust that she sprinkled.

I hope you like the card and I hope you’ll join in on our challenge this week. Sorry my picture is so dark, it’s been rainy here the last few days (which I guess is better than snowy right??)

Vintage Valentine

Hi everyone!  It’s a new Tag challenge over at Challenge Masters, and this month it’s all about the love, romance and Valentine’s Day.  I had to make some tags for the Kinderstampo Tag Swap and so I thought that I would incorporate both challenges into this…

I am really loving how these turned out.  I love the vintage look but am not the best at re-creating it.  However, once I got started, I couldn’t stop and ended up making 12 of them…here are just a couple of samples.

For these, I just cut the heart shape out using my Cricut.  I then heat embossed it with an  old french script writing background stamp that I had..after that it was glimmer mist time.  I printed off some vintage sheet music from the internet, which I then distressed and ink with Tim Holtz inks for that vintage feel.  The cliparts are from the internet as well.  Just some free site I found by googling.  The rest are just bits and bobs that I had lying around in my stash, pearls, bling,  little fabric flowers, flowers that I bought from the wedding section at Walmart and then just inked and glimmer misted to give a vintage feel to.  I really love how they turned out!  If you decide to make some, please enter my challenge at Challenge Masters so that I can see them!  Click here to sign up to the free forum…
