Oldie but a Goodie

I’ve been trying to go back and work on some old classes that I purchased from @sctmagazine . This is from I believe the WCD online class from 2017 or 2018. We were creating a card using a @pagemaps sketch and a card created by Allison Okamitsu. @nicepeoplestamp .

Her example was a Christmas card but I decided to go with a birthday one using the Perfect Pairings stamp set from @stampinup along with their Gorgeous Grunge.

I used @ranger_ink distress inks in peacock feathers, twisted citron and picked raspberry for the watercolored background, as well as some @ginakdesigns black onyx ink. The stencil from Stampin Up was paired with some @heidiswapp metallic white texture paste and @studiokatia wedding bells sequins.

It’s been awhile since I did any mixed media cards and this one was super quick and easy to put together.

So today Sarah Hurley is releasing a new set of digi stamps…and it’s all about the Pirates! These stamps are colored and plain for those that like to feel like a kid again and color your own. So the Design Team was asked to come up with some projects highlighting the new line (which by the way you can find here).  Now normally, I’m not really the type of person to create something digitally and then just print it off.  I usually like to get my hands dirty, so I thought I would blend the two.  I took some of the images and put a scene together that I would then make into an invitation.  All the images on this are found in the new collection.  I then printed it out onto some Kraft cardstock and then just proceeded to distress it…I ripped first then went over it with the distressing tool, and then I inked it with my ever loving Tim Holtz distress inks in Old Paper and Walnut Stain.  I love how it turned out!!  All the printing I did using a font on my computer.    I hope you like it too and make sure you stop by the blog and check out what the rest of the DT came up with ….fabulous!
