TMS #657

Hiya! We have a fun card sketch for you this week on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog.

This looks like a slimline but the DT has created some great examples of an A2 design with it and Raechelle has incorporated it into her layout, which is pretty cool!

I, myself, went the slimline route with this one.

I love this milkjug die that I’ve had in my stash for a bit. It’s fun to pull out and fill it with some awesome things. This time, I used some left over bits from a Simple Stories Simple Vintage Indigo Garden collection. I did some layout displays for the Scrapshotz booth at Creative Scrapbooker Carnival over the weekend and I knew I had a few bit left that would work for a card as well.

The DP is just from my stash but I love this color palette and I think it turned out well. Be sure to stop by the blog to see the DT and to play along with us this week.

Today is a Good Day (SGC)

As you are reading this, I am in deep preparation for my weekend crop with Creative Scrapbooker Magazine…although it is actually called the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival, we just call it Carnival!  It’s on Friday & Saturday this week.  My two friends and I have been going for several years and it is one of the 5 crops that we attend yearly!  It’s a big deal! 🙂

Southern Girls Challenge is new today….Team Trace is wanting to see spots!  Spots & Dots is our theme this week!

Our sponsors are

and

My image is from Paper Shelter called Hammock Days.  I colored her with my copics and then fussy cut and laid her out against my embossed dot background.  I added a few banners from some scraps in my stash that had some small dots on them, and then a cute little word tag from Tim Holtz.

A sweet little card for a sweet image.  I hope you will stop by the blog and play along with us this week!

Talk to you soon, and happy crafting!

The Money Shot

Hey all!  I wanted to share with you a layout I created for the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival hosted each fall by Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.  It’s actually up on their Facebook Page today!

Registration for Carnival starts August 1st for this year.  Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend this year (the first time in 7 years) as that is the week that we are at Disneyland with our son.  Check out their blog for more information.  This is such a fun time!

I love this layout!  The journaling reads:  : We just have to have that one shot of the singer’s butt that just makes you snap it and say, oh Yeah! That’s the Money Shot”

We can’t help it, whenever we got to a concert we have to take a pic of the singers butts..it’s like a bad habit we can’t break!

I want to say the DP is Echo Park, but it might be October Afternoon…

Some of these lovelies include Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw,  Christ Young, Rob Thomas & Keith Urban!

I hope it makes you smile!

A Journey of Memories

It is shaping up to be a nice week here! I think that summer really decided to step up and be present!  I’m loving the sunshine…

Which is why for my project for this week’s challenge at Penny’s, I wanted to use this cute little travel pig and some fun, bright, summery colors.

Our sponsors this week are BUGABOO STAMPS (4 free images for a lucky winner)

and CRAFTY SENTIMENTS (3 free images for a lucky winner)

For my project, I’m using this cute travel pig from Bugaboo!  I am using up the last scraps of the wicked paper I received and Crop & Create and Vicki Boutin’s class.  I’m just about down to the end now.  I used the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch for this week.  I colored the pig with these AWESOME watercolor markers that I won recently from Creative Scrapbooker magazine and Sakura!  Oh they blend like buttah!  They are the KOI watercolor brush set!  Love them!  The sentiment are word stickers from Tim Holtz.  I hope you enjoy the card and don’t forget to play along with us at Penny’s! Be sure to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the team has for you this week!

Carnival

Helloooooooooooo!  Oh my!  I just spent a fabulous weekend at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnvial!  This is a yearly event hosted, quite brilliantly I might add, by Creative Scrapbooker Magazine!  These ladies know how to throw a party and they have been doing it for nine years!  I have been fortunate enough to be able to attend the last 6 of them!  Cropping, shopping, make and takes, photo booth, goody bags, door prizes, amazing classes and just a whole lot of fun!  What more could you possibly ask for??

I attended a fabulous class put on by Nicole Wright…a great friend and an amazing artist!  She loves to play and get dirty with her creations and you really need to check out her blog here!

We created this amazing distressed canvas!

Distressed Canvas

I haven’t done a lot of mixed media but I am really wanting to dabble in it a bit more..it’s just so much fun to play around and get inky! There’s no right or wrong way and the array of projects that you get to utilize is just endless…I learned about distress crayons and gesso this go round!  My first time playing with these goodies (which also happened to be a take away gift for the class as well) and I really enjoyed it and plan to use it a lot more! Learning about layers and layers to create unique projects..just a wonderful class all round.

I have to give a big shout out to Tim Holtz & Mario, as well as Sizzix for supplying some awesome door prizes for Nicole’s class.  I was lucky enough to win this amazing prize that Sizzix provided!  I was a bit shocked to say the least!  Now I just have to find somewhere on my scrap desk to but this bad boy!

I was also lucky enough to get 3 of my layouts chosen by the magazine to appear on their blog in the future…I have been lucky enough to have been published a few times in the magazine and it’s such an awesome feeling to see something that you created put in and be seen by tonz of people world wide!

Creative Scrapbooker is constantly looking for submissions..they post their submission calls on their blog as well as how to send it in, you can also send in projects that aren’t part of the call …they may be able to use it for something later on down the line…YOU SHOULD SUBMIT!   You may not think you are good enough or you are new to scrapbooking and you aren’t as good as some other layouts or cards or projects that you’ve seen….you know what?? I bet you are!  I bet you are a lot better than you think you are, and Jackie and Katharina and their team want to see what you create!  You may get picked or you may not…this time!  You need to continue to send in projects….the more often you do, the better chance you have …if it’s a project you love, share it with them and maybe they will share it with the world~!  How fun is that!

World Cardmaking Day is coming up on October 1st and I plan on attending some online crops and perhaps you are too!  Let me know below some of the ones that you are hoping to play along with!

Keep Scrappin!
