Dragonfly Dreams: July

It’s time for our July challenge at Dragonfly Dreams everyone! Our theme for the month is Indoor Activities/Hobbies.

I was at first stumped at what to do for this one, but then I realized that there is a lot that this could entail….board games, crafting, baking/cooking, watching movies or tv…lots really.

I chose to go with one of my son’s favorite activities…LEGOS! I’m sure a lot of moms can relate!

I have this Stampin Up set called Boys will Be Boys and it was perfect for this one.

I stamped the image in various directions quite a few times and then colored it with some copics just in some basic colors. It’s hard to se but some of them are also highlighted with some Glossy Accents (the ones that look a bit darker 😉 ). A perfect card for that boy in your life.

Make sure you drop by the blog and see the rest of the projects from the DT, they have a great variety for you!

Hello

I have another fun card for you for the There’s a Stamp for That FB challenge. If you remember, our challenge for this month is challenge #23 (Frogs, Paper Piecing or Freshly Made Sketches #458–used with permission. )

I went with Paper Piecing this time, mostly because I hadn’t done it in awhile.

I had a fun Studio Calico stamp that I had never used and thought it would be really fun to stamp and cut out each house in a different paper from the Heidi Swapp Favorite Things 6×6 paper pad. I paired it with a sentiment sticker that I am pretty sure came in a previous sampler and now sits in my sentiment cup. I added a doodle frame because I thought it needed just a little something. I don’t often do CAS cards but I really love how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Wine

We are at the halfway point in our Pile it On challenge of Orange/Black/Purple.  In case you forgot, we are being sponsored by Ike’s Art this month.

For this week’s card I went with a bit of a fun Halloween card using the colors.  The image is from Miss Kate Cuttables and I flattened it in my cricut explore and then cut it out.  The sentiment was a free one that I got online from LoveSVGonline.com  They have sooo many free images that you can use, it’s crazy!

I added a bit of glossy accents and some wink of stella, just to give it some sparkle and shine.  I also thought it would be fun with some enamel dots.  The DP is just from my stash.  I hope you think it’s fun and don’t forget to play along with us!

Entered into these challenges:

As You Like It: CAS or Fun & Fancy (and why) – I always struggle with CAS cards as I like to add lots of layers and bits and bobs..this is a bit on the simpler side and still (I think) a fun card without all the frills and bits.

Hello everyone!  Welcome to Monday and a new challenge at Use Your Stuff.  This week’s challenge is to use limited supplies…perhaps it is a CAS card, using some old supplies in a new way.  Perhaps like me, you just want to use some little bits and bobs that are already on your desk.

For this week’s card, I used a candy cane striped embossing folder that was already on my desk from another project.  So was this little piece of red cardstock, some bling, ribbon and a stamp set that I had used on another project.

A pretty basic but pretty card.  I hope you will stop by the blog to see what the other DT has created and to play along with us as well.

Dreams

Hi Everyone! Another quick post today for our challenge at Creative Corner Challenges.

It’s been so busy with work and my son ill again (an infection in his finger this time and some visits to the doctor and chiropracter to help with a gait issue) that it’s amazing I’ve had time to craft this week!

Our challenge is Clean and Simple also known as CAS.  This is a challenge to use less and less embellishments and papers on your project.  The least amount the better.  This is always a challenge for me because I love to embellish.  However, I am thrilled with how this card turned out.  I used a sketch in the March/April issue of Papercrafts magazine  and its just a fabulous one.

I just used a couple of scraps of paper in my basket and the butterflies were sent to me in a swap.  They were regular corrugated cardboard and I misted them with my smooch spritzes!  The pearls are from my stash and the sentiment is K Andrew Designs

I hope you like it.  Please stop by the blog to see the other DT creations and also to join in on the challenge this week.

Happy Crafting and Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

ABC Challenges Guest Designer

I am really excited to have been asked to be a guest designer at ABC Challenges this week!  A big Thank you to Patty and her team for allowing me to play with them this week.  Their challenge for this week is Clean and Simple aka CAS.  These are not easy cards for me.  I love to add layers and embellishments on my cards.  However, I did it and I really like how it turned out.

I decided to use a Stampin Up set that I hadn’t used yet called French Foliage.  One of those ones I picked up for some generic cards but somehow find difficulty in actually using.   I paired it up with the sentiment from Kindness Matters and just a touch of bling and voila!

Kindness Matters

So I wanted to share with you a card I created for a swap on Swap-Bot.com.  The theme is butterflies.  I used my Basic Grey Ambrosia 6×6 and the Kindness Matters stamp set from Stampin Up.  The ink colors are from Stampin Up as well Really Rust and Crushed Curry.

I have to mail this out so I couldn’t add a lot of embellishments on it, which I think is fine because the DP has such a pattern to it.

Entered into the following challenges:

Hello! Today is our first March challenge at Lollipop Crafts and we are being sponsored by Meljen’s Designs!

My team is hosting this week’s challenge and we have picked Clean and Simple.  Little embellishments and layers just like it says, clean and simple.

I went for a one layer card this time around.  Not something I do a lot of.  I tend to like my embellishments too much!  🙂  I used a couple of stamp sets.  I found them in my stamp box.  I don’t even know how long I’ve had them but I figured it was time to crack them open!  I just stamped them down and then I stamped the sentiment (an old Stampin Up one I use frequently).  The traced around with a black marker.  You can’t get much simpler than this.  The great thing is that it will be easy for me to mail and won’t cost me a small fortune! 🙂  I hope you like it and make sure you stop by the Lollipop blog for more inspiration and to enter this week’s challenge.

I’ve entered into the following challenges with this card:

Crafty Calendar: March Spring Clean

Stampin Sisters In Christ: Things with Wings

Do You Stack Up: Things with Wings

Flutterby Wednesday: Open challenge (must have a butterfly, fairy or or angel)

Shopping our Stash: Sentiment Required
