London Calling

It is our 100th challenge at Red Carpet Studio this week! Woohoo!!!  We are very excited!

Our challenge this week is based on the movie The Iron Giant

In this animated adaptation of Ted Hughes’ Cold War fable, a giant alien robot (Vin Diesel) crash-lands near the small town of Rockwell, Maine, in 1957. Exploring the area, a local 9-year-old boy, Hogarth, discovers the robot, and soon forms an unlikely friendship with him. When a paranoid government agent, Kent Mansley, becomes determined to destroy the robot, Hogarth and beatnik Dean McCoppin (Harry Connick Jr.) must do what they can to save the misunderstood machine.
THE CHALLENGE:  Use the Movie Poster for inspiration!

I loved the warm colors of this poster and thought they would do great for this layout of my time in London.  One of the favorite pubs that I went to was called The Maple Leaf!  It was where a lot of Canadians visiting England would hang out for a taste of home! One of my favorite pubs ever!
I used some Hot Off the Press DP that I have had for pretty much forever for this layout. The journal card is from Sn@p and there are a couple types of leaves, some punched ones using some bits of left over cardstock which I then stamped with a script as well as some paper ones that I picked up at Michaels. I also added in just a few brads as well. I hope you like it and will come and play along with us for your chance to win a great prize from Lawn Fawn!
