Generations

Good Morning everyone!  It’s been awhile since I’ve posted.  I’ve been so busy with work as well as family sickness that I’ve not had a lot of time to create and post lately.

Our new challenge is up at Use it Tuesday this week.  Our theme You Can’t Touch This, challenges you to use a beloved favorite that you’ve just not been able to break down and use yet….go ahead, it’s relatively painless :)

For me, I have only 3 sheets of this gorgeous Madame Boutique paper by Kaisercraft.  I also have some matching die cuts and I’ve been holding onto them for a long time.  After the initial shock of breaking into them wore off, I was glad I did use them for this layout.  The picture was on a different layout that I did, but never really liked.  I really like this one so much better.

This picture is of me as a baby with my mom, my grandma, and my great-grandma holding me.   This is one of my favorite pictures of all time, the 4 generations of women on my mother’s side.  Sadly my great-grandma passed when I was very young so I don’t have a lot of pictures of her.  All the other elements on this page are from my stash.  The paper flowers I made with some old book pages that were sent to me in a swap!  I really love how this turned out.  I hope you will stop by the blog and play with us.  There are a lot of great projects this week, AND we are having a design team call!!!  All the details are on the blog! I do hope you will apply.

A vintage Christmas

Hello everyone.

We have a great new challenge at DigiHaven for you today.  It’s a fun Christmas challenge.  All you have to do is use a free digi with a Christmas theme.  The digi should remain free for the duration of the challenge which is 2 weeks.  We have a prize for you this week as well, which you can find on the blog!

Here is the card I have today.

Tammy

The image can be found here.  The paper is from Kaisercraft and Simple Stories.  The snowflakes were cut with my sizzix die and the green floral ribbon is from Walmart.  This is the first time that I’ve used it and I added some red bling to spruce it up a bit.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to join the challenge.

Also, you still have time to get in our DT Call.  If you love using digital images then this is for you.  All the details can be found here.  i look forward to seeing your creations on the blog.

Happy Thanksgiving

It’s another lovely day here in Calgary.  Hard to believe that fall is just around the corner.  It’s only a month until Thanksgiving here in Canada so I thought I would share this cute little card for you.  We are having a fins and/or feathers challenge on the Digi Haven blog this week. This challenge begins today, Friday, September 7th and ends Thursday, September 20th.  Use any Free digital image that uses “Fins” or “Feathers” or if you’re real good at finding free images, one that uses both ”Fins and Feathers”. The image(s) can be a forever freebie, limited time freebie or freebie of the month as long as it’s free for the duration of this tw week challenge.  Please be sure to link back to the original artist or website on your blog.

Here’s my card using ‘feathers’.

I found this cute little vintage turkey image (which you can find here).  I have had these leaves for the longest time and usually only pull them out in the fall for autumn/halloween themed cards.  The ribbon and buttons are from my stash.  The DP is from my stash and it is from an old Hot Off The Press pack with autumn themes.  I have had it FOREVER!

Don’t forget, we are also having a DT call on the blog right now as well.  If you enjoy working with digi’s and want to be a part of a fun group, then check out the blog for details on how to apply!

Vintage Easter with Lollipop Crafts

I’m a bit late in getting this post up.  We have a new challenge at Lollipop Crafts this week…it’s any anything goes with an Easter theme. There is no sponsor this week, just a chance to be featured in the top 3.  Here are a couple of vintage Easter cards I made for this week’s challenge:

Entered Into the Following Challenges:

Crafty Sentiments: Spring (Pastel Colors)

Die Cuttin Divas: Pastels (must include a diecut)

Crafty Cardmakers: Easter

Entered into the following challenges:

The Stamping Boutique: Distress

Twisted Tuesdays: I never promised you a rose garden (flowers but no roses!)

Pretty much everything for these cards came from my stash of Easter things..so it’s really hard to pinpoint which manufacturers there were, other than the images which I just pulled off of the net.  Some were part of swaps (like the butterflies in both cards and the DP) or just stuff that I threw together because they seemed Easter/springish :)

With Love

I do apologize everyone.  This post should have been up yesterday but somehow I managed to screw that up.  We have a new challenge for you at Lollipop Crafts.  Our theme is With Love…..your challenge..a love inspired project that is not a card.  It could be a 3D project like a bag or box or perhaps a tag or a frame.  We are being sponsored by Karber this week

and on Thursday, Alanna and her team will have a lot of information and new inspiration pieces for you.

My project this week is a Vintage Valentine Tag.  I don’t know what it is about these, but I just love making them.  For something totally different, instead of just the traditional pink or red, I opted for blue in there as well. The image is printed off of the internet. I cut the heart out using my Cricut and did some inking and misting for a bit of texture.  Then I just added some fun elements, vintage music sheet, there’s a doily hiding out in there , bling, flowers, some lace and distressing.  I hope you enjoy it.

Make sure you stop by the Lollipop blog to enter this week’s challenge!

Lovely Lady

Welcome to Monday! It’s challenge day at The Crazy Challenge and this week, we’re looking for all the lovely ladies out there!  I must be on a vintage kick, which for me is surprising, because I never really thought of myself as the vintage type..anyway, here is my card.

The image is downloaded from the internet (I really wish I had a stash of vintage images from a book or something). The music sheet is left over from a Tim Holtz Christmas Tag..it was printed out onto vellum and then inked and distressed to give it a vintagy feel.  The bling, pearl strand, ribbons and flowers are all from my stash.

Vintage St. Paddy’s Day

Hey there…so my last tag challenge as the Tag Diva for Challenge Masters, is to create a green tag..it can be any subject as long as it is mainly green…you can check out all the deets here by the way…

So this is the one I created.  I colored my tag using Pine Needles, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks with a little Vintage Photo thrown in.  I had printed off a vintage pic from the internet because I really don’t have a lot of St. Patrick’s Day images.  I used the vintage photo on it as well and then the rest of the tag was just made using some bits and bobs from my stash. The DP is some BG I’ve been using for other projects..The flower I inked up a bit to blend it with the tag and same with the lacy ribbon on the bottom (it was originally beige).  I hope you like it and stop over and join our challenges this week as well!

Lots of Love

That is our theme for this week’s challenge on the Crazy Challenge.  I’m sure many of you are still doing Valentines so this is a perfect challenge for you.  You can find the deets here.

Now I loved those Vintage Valentine tags that I was doing and posted about yesterday, that I decided to incorporate one into a card for this challenge.  The valentine part is the same as the rest in that it is cut with the cricut, heat embossed with a script stamp altho it’s hard to see on this one, and then the cliparts are distressed and given that vintage feel.  The embellies are just lots of little bits from my stash.  I adhered it to a simple Kraft cardstock and then I added some glimmer mist to the bast to vintage it up a bit.  I also added some bling and ribbon to the base as well. Enjoy and don’t forget to enter our challenge by clicking the link above.  You have a chance to win some fun images from Hobbismo!

This card is entered into the following challenges:

Stamping Vacation: Romantic

Vintage Valentine

Hi everyone!  It’s a new Tag challenge over at Challenge Masters, and this month it’s all about the love, romance and Valentine’s Day.  I had to make some tags for the Kinderstampo Tag Swap and so I thought that I would incorporate both challenges into this…

I am really loving how these turned out.  I love the vintage look but am not the best at re-creating it.  However, once I got started, I couldn’t stop and ended up making 12 of them…here are just a couple of samples.

For these, I just cut the heart shape out using my Cricut.  I then heat embossed it with an  old french script writing background stamp that I had..after that it was glimmer mist time.  I printed off some vintage sheet music from the internet, which I then distressed and ink with Tim Holtz inks for that vintage feel.  The cliparts are from the internet as well.  Just some free site I found by googling.  The rest are just bits and bobs that I had lying around in my stash, pearls, bling,  little fabric flowers, flowers that I bought from the wedding section at Walmart and then just inked and glimmer misted to give a vintage feel to.  I really love how they turned out!  If you decide to make some, please enter my challenge at Challenge Masters so that I can see them!  Click here to sign up to the free forum…

It’s Halloween at AIF

This week’s challenge for the AIF challenge blog is a Halloween one!  Soon it will be here!  We got to work with some really cute halloween sentiments this time around and they can be found in the store here.  Better yet, enter this week’s challenge for a chance to win them all and a shot at being a Guest DT member in November!  You have until Wednesday November 3,  11:59EST to upload a card or project and then a winner will be drawn randomly.  If you use an AIF image, you get double entries in to win.  Make sure you check out the freebies here (there’s even a haunted house perfect for this challenge).

So here is my card for this week!

I just used basically a bunch of left over bits and bobs from other Halloween cards that I have made over the last few weeks.  The trick or treat sentiment is one of the ones from AIF’s Haunted Tags and Frames collection that we are using this week.  I ran it through my spiderweb cuttlebug folder.  I added a vintage pic that I found on the internet as well as some ribbon, felt spider and stickers that were all used on different projects!  I hope you like the card!  Don’t forget to check out the other DT blogs (which can be found by clicking on their names on the challenge blog) and see what they’ve created this week!

Happy Halloween!
