A bright sunshiny day

That unfortunately does not seem to be something that we are going to have here in Calgary today.  It’s still a bit cloudy and cool today.  The last vestiges of winter are still lingering around.  I wish they would just go already.

Today’s challenge at Use it Tuesday is All About Spring.  It’s time to break out the flowers, the bright colors, the sunshine, all the good stuff.  As always you need to use up some of your stash so make sure you let us know in your post what you used.

I finally have used up all of the Lil Sprout collection by Crate Paper so here is my final project.  The stamp set is one from my stash that I don’t use enough by My Favorite Things.  It comes with its own sentiment as well.  I just used my spellbinders and inked it up with some Tim Holtz ink.  The bling is from my stash as well. I hope you like it.

Merry Christmas

Yay for Tuesday!  It’s our new challenge at Use It Tuesday this week.  Our theme this week is All About Christmas/Hanukkah.  Create a project using some stash items with this theme and upload it to our blog!  We would love to see what you create.

Here is my card for you.  I got the idea from a Create magazine from last year I believe.  I loved the look of it and knew I wanted to try it.

I didn’t use any DP this time around, just some red, green and white cardstock.  The sentiment is from my stash…Hero Arts.  The tree was created using a Making Memories Twinkle bauble set from last year and some button and yarn from my stash.  A really simple card and I hope you like it.  Don’t forget to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for you.

Simple Thank you

Hey all.  I’m sorry I’ve been MIA the last little bit.  My whole house is sick including myself and I’ve been busy with work so I have not had a lot of free crafting time.

We have a new challenge at Use It Tuesday this week.  It’s time to break out those stamp sets that you’ve bought but have yet to use! You must have at least one.  If you’re like me the challenge is to figure out which one you want to use!  For my DT card this week, I went with Stampin Up’s Faith in Nature stamp set.  I had used the THANK YOU sentiment several times but never any of the other stamps.  I decided to use the Pear in this one.

I paired it (heeeheeee pun intended) with the Basic Grey granola paper and then just some ribbon and pearls from my stash.  I actually heat embossed the image and the sentiment for this card for a bit more texture.  I hope you like it.  Don’t forget to stop by the blog this week to see the rest of the DT projects and to enter our challenge!  Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Also, we are still having our DT Call for the January -June 2013 term.  This is a great DT for anyone that has tonz of stash and wants to use it up!  Here’s the post with all the deets!

Merry Christmas

Hello All!  Back to the creative grind again after a successful weekend at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival.  I got a lot accomplished in terms of new Christmas Cards for my upcoming craft fairs, had a lot of fun with my friends Kathy & Lisa and the swag bag was amazing.  I will post that a bit later.

It’s a new challenge at Use it Tuesday this week. Our theme is all about Orange…we would like you to create a project using orange in it.  It could be halloween, thanksgiving, or anything else.  In my case, it is Christmas! :)

I challenged myself to make a Christmas card with the unconventional color of Orange ..so here we go.  All the DP is from my stash.  I am thinking I have some BG Jovial in there from a couple of years ago. That tells you how long I hold onto all my paper…LOL  The image is from my image bucket and is Stampin up.  The snowflakes were originally plain chipboard and then I covered them with glitter and added bling.  The lacy ribbon and twine are from my stash as well.  I hope you enjoy it and I hope you will stop by the blog and check out all the really great projects we have for you this week.  Don’t forget to enter the challenge and be sure to let us know which stashy or hoarded items you used for your project!

An Autumn Thank you -UIT Challenge #41

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It was Thanksgiving over here in Canada on Monday so it was a busy weekend for my family as I had 2 dinners to attend as well as my youngest brother’s wedding on Saturday.  This whole weekend seems like a big party! LOL

For many of us, autumn is well and truly here.  So, we have a great challenge for you at Use it Tuesday this week.  We are falling into fall and would love to see your Fall Creations!  It can be anything that fall inspires you with, the rich colors, the celebrations, the activities….all we ask is that you use your hoarded supplies to create with and let us know what they are when you post.

Here is my card for you today.

I’m sure you recognize the paper from another card I did. This MME paper is great for fall projects, lots of rich colors.  I used some more of the American Crafts pumpkin ribbon.  The leaves were cut out using my little leaf punches and then the pumpkins and gate were from a die cut swap I did ages ago.  The sentiment is from a Stampin up set that has a matching punch.  I’ve used the punch before but not the stamp set so really loving paring the two together.

I just love the autumn feel of this card! :)

Please stop by the blog to see the rest of the inspiration the girls have for you this week and to enter our challenge! We can’t wait to see what you create!

A birthday wish: Use it Tuesday Challenge #30

Yay! Tuesday!  We have a brand new challenge for you on the Use It Tuesday blog!  It’s so fun and yet hard at the same time…the fun part…USE YOUR SCRAPS…the hard part….NARROWING IT DOWN!  This was really hard for me, so I asked the girls on the DT to help me out by picking a color of scraps to work with because I just have so many…their choice was PURPLE!

And Voila!  Here is my purple card for you!

So I haven’t the foggiest clue where any of that purple DP came from.  It has been in my stash box for so long, it’s not even funny!  The image came from my image box, again, it has been sitting in there forever and was probably part of some swap that I did.  I cut the butterflies out using an old Cuttlebug diecut that I forgot I even had.  I am not even sure I’ve ever used it!  The fibres are from CTMH and I think I bought them when I first started scrapbooking several years ago.  It was my first foray into ribbon…now I’m just a ribbon whore and it has become out of control!  The sentiment is an old rub on that I found in a box.  It’s part of a bunch of birthday rub ons and I’m hoping to create more cards with them.  Bling is from my stash as are the border punch and Spellbinder.  I hope you like this one and make sure you stop by the blog and enter this week’s challenge.  Everyone has some kind of scraps.  Your card doesn’t even have to be fancy…some white space and a few pieces of patterned paper and you are done! Challenge yourself to scrap a certain color like I did, or just close your eyes and pick a piece of paper out and create around it..I’ve been known to do that too.

Entered into these challenges:

cupcake craft challenges: fairytales ( she reminds me of Tinkerbell from Peter Pan)

Paper Playtime: punches and a sentiment

whoopsie daisy challenge: things with wings

Challenges for Everybody: anything goes

the Squirrel and Fox: celebrate the occasion

Happy Birthday! An anything goes challenge for UIT

Hi there!

Welcome to a new challenge on the Use It Tuesday blog.  We have the fabulous challenge of ANYTHING GOES! Those are always a favorite!  Todays card is a fun birthday card.  This card is so bright it blows me away! LOL

The stamp is from Sweet November.  I have never used it before.  It was a gift from a friend of mine!  I cut the balloons out using my cuttlebug balloon die.  I don’t think I’ve used those dies in quite awhile but they are just so fun.  The buttons and twine are from my stash.  The DP was in my scrap box so I am not sure who it is by.   I hope you like it.  Make sure you stop by the UIT blog to see the other DT creations and to enter this week’s challenge.  We are excited to see what you create!

All About School: UIT challenge

Hello! I know it has been a dry spell on my blog.  My mom had emergency brain surgery at the end of July and I went to BC to help with things for the first couple of weeks while she started her recovery.  She is one lucky lady, lucky to be alive and she is starting the long road to recovery.  She has very little damage from the aneurysm or the surgery so that is really great!

I have been trying to play catch up this week as I have a bunch of projects that I will be showing you over the next couple of weeks, although I leave to go on my holidays August 19-29th.  Camping! Cannot wait!  Thank goodness for autoposting!

On to this weeks Use it Tuesday challenge…..ALL ABOUT SCHOOL!  The start of school is fast approaching which of course signals that summer will soon be over.  My little guy Riley starts preschool this year so I am excited and apprehensive at the same time.  Its a big thing right??? :)

I have a fun little card for you today.

Everything on this card is from my stash this week, nothing is new.  The paper pack is from Fancy Pants and is called Off to School.  I found a big shoebox full of ephemera which is where that flash card came from so I am not sure who makes it. The stars were cut out using an Epiphany Crafts punch that I won in a prize pack last year I think!  I believe I’ve only ever used it once before and it’s been awhile! It is a great tool and I think I need to use it more often! I also won a circle one too which I have not used yet.  The ribbon, twine and notebook punch are all from my stash.  I’ve not used them in awhile either.  I don’t think I’ve ever used that ribbon! I don’t even know where it came from..LOL

I hope you enjoyed my card and make sure you stop by the Use it Tuesday blog to see the other great projects the DT has for you this week and to enter the challenge!

Be sure to tell us in your post what you used!  Don’t forget, you have to use your hoarded supplies for each of our challenges and let us know what it was!

Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday August 24th.  No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE037 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation.  Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating. (you can find tips for linking up on our blog!)

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge

Now GO USE IT! and I am looking forward to stopping by your blogs to comment! :)

Happy Crafting everyone!

Just for You- UIT challenge #36

Hello all! We have a great and perhaps a very tough challenge for some of you this week.  I know it was really hard for me.  This week, we want you to dig into that pile of paper you have been hoarding because it’s just too pretty to cut into. USE YOUR UNCUT PAPER! You know the one, you’ve had it forever and don’t want to touch a single piece of it because once it is gone, it’s gone! What can I say except the old cliche  JUST DO IT! It’s like a band aid, rip it off quickly and be done with it.  Once you make that first cut with the trimmer you are good for the rest.

So as you know, I am a big hoarder of Basic Grey.  I love BG, I adore BG.  I have a lot of BG.  There were a lot of lines for me to choose from for this week’s challenge but I ended up using some Basic Grey Koshi line. So I not only used one, but several sheets of it!  Go big or go home right???  I have this in the 12×12 and the 6×6 so really, there’s no excuse for me not to use it, I just wanted to keep it. (I couldn’t even find anyone that still carries it to link for you, this is how long I’ve been hoarding it.  You can’t even get it anymore! )So I decided to make this cute little card holder and a set of 8 cards to sell at my craft fair this coming winter.

I also dove into a stamp set that I have had for awhile but never used and it was Lanterns by Inkadinkado.  I really liked this set but just never cracked it open.

All of the embellishments, which were mostly just ribbon and buttons came from my stash.  I didn’t want to over embellish these as I am selling them and perhaps whoever buys them wants to mail them.  I tried to keep them as flat as possible.   I used a variety of my Tim Holtz distress inks for this project and also my spellbinders to liven up the shapes of the images.  I really like how they turned out and I hope someone else does as well, enough to buy them:)

Make sure you stop by the UIT blog this week to enter our challenge and to see the rest of the really great projects the DT has for you this week.  I’m sure there were a lot of tears in craft rooms as we broke down and used up some of our favorite papers!

Hippo Birthday-Use it Tuesday Challenge #35

I’m so excited to be sharing with you my first challenge card as part of the Use it Tuesday design team for this term.  Honestly, if you need to be challenged to use that stuff you already have piling up on your desk, this is the blog for you.  You would be surprised how much stuff I have used and not only that, how much stuff I’ve come across that I had forgotten I’ve even had.

Sooo…this week we are embossing!  Blow the dust off your embossing folders (like I did), dig out that embossing powder, whatever you have laying around.  As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Here is what I have for you today!

So I wasn’t kidding when I said I blew the dust off of my embossing folder.  I think this is one of the first ones I ever bought when I first got my cuttlebug.  The image and sentiment are from my image bin, sent to me in a swap ages ago.  I wish I had more of it because I would have liked to have made a set of these cards in a variety of colors, but I only have this one.  The ribbon, bling and cardstock are all from my stash, and in fact were pieces just sitting on my desk when I was creating this card.  The only thing that is not new, is the ink that I used..Sorry! I had to crack open that new Tim Holtz distress ink in the new picked raspberry.  What a hot pink this is!

I’m really pleased how this card turned out and I hope you like it too.  Make sure you stop by the blog and see the rest of the DT  inspiration for you this week and don’t forget to leave them some love as well.  I can’t wait to see what you create for this challenge!
