It’s a Boy

Happy Friday! So happy it’s the weekend, even if I don’t really have anything planned.

Just sharing with you our new challenge at Creative Corner Challenges this week.  Our last one for February hosted by Tina.  Next month I will be hosting the challenges and offering some great weekly prizes so make sure you check in each week.

A super easy challenge this week, we just want to see some designer paper on your project.  It can be old, new, one or two.  Head over to the blog to link up and to see what the DT has for you this week.

Here is mine for you this week, a cute little baby card.

DP

Since I am on a buying freeze right now, everything on this card is from my stash.  The paper is sooo old.  It is from Hot off The Press’s 8×8 baby kit.  The image was from a swap I did ages ago and the sentiment sticker I’ve had for ages.  It was fun to make a 5×5 card this time instead of my usual 4.25×5.5.  I hope you like it.

Hello everyone! Welcome to today’s installment of the Digihaven challenge.  We have a fun new Halloween challenge for you.

For this challenge you need to use any halloween image that is a) free and b) is free for the duration of the challenge which in this case is ending November 1st.  You can find all the details under the challenge tab on the blog!

Here is the fun card I created for you this week.

I just thought these spiders were so cute and you can find them here~  The DP are just some scraps that I had from other Halloween projects and I cut out the spiders with my spellbinders and then inked them with the Tim Holtz Seedless Preserves ink.  The DP I inked with some Rusty Hinge.  The letters are from my stash as is the little star.  I hope you like it and don’t forget to stop by the blog and check out the other inspiration pieces for you this week and to enter this fun new challenge.

I am off to the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival for Friday and Saturday for 2 days of fun cropping and I will have all the great details and maybe even some pictures on Sunday! See you then!

A birthday wish: Use it Tuesday Challenge #30

Yay! Tuesday!  We have a brand new challenge for you on the Use It Tuesday blog!  It’s so fun and yet hard at the same time…the fun part…USE YOUR SCRAPS…the hard part….NARROWING IT DOWN!  This was really hard for me, so I asked the girls on the DT to help me out by picking a color of scraps to work with because I just have so many…their choice was PURPLE!

And Voila!  Here is my purple card for you!

So I haven’t the foggiest clue where any of that purple DP came from.  It has been in my stash box for so long, it’s not even funny!  The image came from my image box, again, it has been sitting in there forever and was probably part of some swap that I did.  I cut the butterflies out using an old Cuttlebug diecut that I forgot I even had.  I am not even sure I’ve ever used it!  The fibres are from CTMH and I think I bought them when I first started scrapbooking several years ago.  It was my first foray into ribbon…now I’m just a ribbon whore and it has become out of control!  The sentiment is an old rub on that I found in a box.  It’s part of a bunch of birthday rub ons and I’m hoping to create more cards with them.  Bling is from my stash as are the border punch and Spellbinder.  I hope you like this one and make sure you stop by the blog and enter this week’s challenge.  Everyone has some kind of scraps.  Your card doesn’t even have to be fancy…some white space and a few pieces of patterned paper and you are done! Challenge yourself to scrap a certain color like I did, or just close your eyes and pick a piece of paper out and create around it..I’ve been known to do that too.

Entered into these challenges:

cupcake craft challenges: fairytales ( she reminds me of Tinkerbell from Peter Pan)

Paper Playtime: punches and a sentiment

whoopsie daisy challenge: things with wings

Challenges for Everybody: anything goes

the Squirrel and Fox: celebrate the occasion

Please be sure to link back to the original artist or website on your blog.  This Challenge ends on Thursday and the winners will be posted on Sunday.

There are a lot of cute cat and dog digis out there!  The DT has come up with some great inspiration for you, so make sure you stop by the blog to leave them some love and to play in this week’s challenge.

Here’s what I have for you this week!

The image is from Tiddlyinks and can be found here.  I colored this little guy in with my copics.  The DP is from Basic Grey (of course) and I think is called Max and Whiskers.  A little work with my spellbinders and the little bone was sent to me in a swap.  The sentiment stamp is one that I bought at Michael’s forever ago and use quite often.  I also added a bit of faux stitching using my white gel pen.  I hope you like this week’s challenge card and again, please stop by the blog to see what the rest of the DT has for you!

CRAFT challenge: Stitching

Crazy 4 Challenges: Stitching

Just for You- UIT challenge #36

Hello all! We have a great and perhaps a very tough challenge for some of you this week.  I know it was really hard for me.  This week, we want you to dig into that pile of paper you have been hoarding because it’s just too pretty to cut into. USE YOUR UNCUT PAPER! You know the one, you’ve had it forever and don’t want to touch a single piece of it because once it is gone, it’s gone! What can I say except the old cliche  JUST DO IT! It’s like a band aid, rip it off quickly and be done with it.  Once you make that first cut with the trimmer you are good for the rest.

So as you know, I am a big hoarder of Basic Grey.  I love BG, I adore BG.  I have a lot of BG.  There were a lot of lines for me to choose from for this week’s challenge but I ended up using some Basic Grey Koshi line. So I not only used one, but several sheets of it!  Go big or go home right???  I have this in the 12×12 and the 6×6 so really, there’s no excuse for me not to use it, I just wanted to keep it. (I couldn’t even find anyone that still carries it to link for you, this is how long I’ve been hoarding it.  You can’t even get it anymore! )So I decided to make this cute little card holder and a set of 8 cards to sell at my craft fair this coming winter.

I also dove into a stamp set that I have had for awhile but never used and it was Lanterns by Inkadinkado.  I really liked this set but just never cracked it open.

All of the embellishments, which were mostly just ribbon and buttons came from my stash.  I didn’t want to over embellish these as I am selling them and perhaps whoever buys them wants to mail them.  I tried to keep them as flat as possible.   I used a variety of my Tim Holtz distress inks for this project and also my spellbinders to liven up the shapes of the images.  I really like how they turned out and I hope someone else does as well, enough to buy them:)

Make sure you stop by the UIT blog this week to enter our challenge and to see the rest of the really great projects the DT has for you this week.  I’m sure there were a lot of tears in craft rooms as we broke down and used up some of our favorite papers!

Challenges are Opportunities

Today I have this cute little card that I made for a challenge on the Scrapshotz forum.  The theme was encouragement.

The DP is from my stash but I do believe it is a Basic Grey.  The image was sent to me in a swap but is one I’ve used before but I thought it would be perfect paired with the sentiment stamp from K. Andrew.  I won this set called Positive Thoughts.  I have been dying to use them since they arrived and thought that this was perfect.  I sewed the buttons (Fancy Pants: On a Whismsey which I have had forever and not used yet! ) on with some embroidery thread.  The butterflies were part of a bunch of little wooden ones I received from a secret pal.  So I just inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Scattered Straw) and then put some glossy accents over top.  A little white gel pen stitching and voila.  I hope you like it.

Entered into the following challenges:

Lawnscaping Challenge: use Patterned Paper

Simon Says Stamp: show some texture

the Crazy Challenge: Childhood Memories

Amusing Challenges: anything Goes

Great Impressions: Die Cuts or Punches

Lets Ink it Up: favorite embellishment ( I love buttons and also anything I can add ink to, like the butterflies)

Aud Sentiments: Any sentiment

Southern Girls: Diecuts or Punches

Bella in Blue

Hello all! Welcome to Monday here on my blog. It’s a new challenge at Lollipop Crafts and this week is an Anything Goes challenge.  So it’s just for fun and we get to highlight our top three on Sunday!  Let your creative juices run wild!  I know the DT has some wicked inspiration for you so don’t forget to stop by the blog and leave them some love!

So as you know, I belong to Swap-bot.com which I love because of all the different card swaps they do there.  I have one that is a card swap with a twist…so my partner actually sends me the embellishments to put on the card, I make it and send it back.  So I was sent some ribbon, a flower,a button and a brad.  Not a lot to work with, but luckily they all matched.  So this is the card that I created inspired by the supplies I was sent. Someone had sent me this stamped image in a swap so it seemed like a good one to use up.  I cut it out using my Spellbinders and inked the edges with Broken China Distress Ink (BTW have you seen the new distress colors for spring IN LOVE!!!!).  I can’t wait to get mine.  The DP is from the Kaisercraft Blae and Ivy set which is really pretty blues and greens!  I colored her using my ever trusty copics!

Here’s the card

I’ve entered into the following challenges:

Amusing Challenges: anything goes

Catered Crop: B is for Bodacious (anything that begins with B..I have button, blue and Bella)

Happy Friday the 13th everyone.  It’s a new challenge day over at Poodles Parlour today.  It’s all about circles!  Our sponsor this week is Whoopsi Daisy Digis.

Hello.  I am so late in posting this! It’s been that kind of day.

We have a new challenge on the Poodles Parlour site this week.  Our challenge is to use polka dots somewhere on your project.  This week we are being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps!

Yay!  Please stop by the blog for all the details and to see all the great DT inspiration this week for you.

I created this fun little Easter card for you this week.

The paper was in my stash bucket so I am not entirely sure where it came from.  I embossed some cardstock using my polka dots embossing folder.  The image was colored with my Copics and then added some flowers from my many embellishments as well as some bling and just a bit of jute.  The image was cut out using one of my Spellbinders that I finally managed to crack open.  I hope you enjoy it this week.
