A New Challenge Blog

Hey there!  So I am excited to be a part of a new challenge blog with a couple of other great ladies.  We’re just cutting our teeth so please bear with us as we work out the kinks, get the badges going and the like.

Our blog is called Creative Corner Challenges.  Each week we will bring you a new challenge and you have one week to enter your projects.  Make sure you check out the challenge rule tab with all the information.

Our first challenge for you is Embossing.  Use either heat or dry embossing somewhere on your projects.

Here is the card I have for you today.

embossing

I did both heat and dry embossing for this one.  I used my cuttlebug heart folder (had to blow the dust off of that one) and I also stamped the image (from Stampin Up) with versamark and then embossed it with some red embossing powder I had.  The sentiment is also Stampin up and the bling is from my stash.  I really hope you like it, and I do hope you will play along with us each week.  I look forward to seeing your great projects.

Eddie the Elf

Hey everyone!  Here is my card for this week’s inspiration post at Digital Delights.  Meet Eddie the Elf!

He is such a cute little Christmas image that you can find in the store here and comes in both colored and b&w.

This is my Christmas card for you this week.

The DP is some left over Echo Park and  Basic Grey that I had used for some other projects.  I colored him with my copics and then added some stickles for some shiny fun.  The swirly diecut is from sizzix and the bling and brads are from my stash.  I colored the die cut with Eddie using some chalk. The sentiment is one from the store called Circular Merry Christmas I hope you like him and please stop by the blog to see the rest of the great inspiration for you this week.

Seeing Red with Craft Your Passion

Well here it is, my last week as a guest DT for Craft Your Passion.  A big thank you to CYP for having me. It has been a great honor and I have enjoyed every minute of it.  This week, another great challenge for you.  We are SEEING RED!  We would love to see it with your projects as well, so make sure that somewhere on there, it can be in your DP, an embellishment, some coloring in an image, there is some RED! Here is my card for this week.  I loved this image from CocoDingo because I’ve had this Cinco De Mayo paper in my stash forever that I could finally use.  I added a little bit of jupe and a bit of ribbon and that’s it for this one.  The stamped sentiment was from an old stamp I found in my stash.  The image was colored with my copics. Embossing with Sarah Hurley

It’s a new challenge at Sarah Hurley this week, and we are excited because we are lucky enough to be sponsored by Handy Hippo! Handy Hippo is a friendly online craft supplies shop with a great range of rubber stamps and other card making goodies – including plenty of embossing folders and dies for the Cuttlebug. Their website has lots of information on crafting techniques, plus a great selection of free card project ideas to suit crafters of all abilities so please pop over and visit them!
They chose a theme of Embossing this week and have given us some embossing folders as a prize! There will be 3 for the winner and one each for 2nd and 3rd place. You can see them on their website here

Here is my card for this week’s challenge

I used some of Sarah’s digital papers for the balloons (which can be found in the store here.  I embossed the balloons using the Houndstooth Cuttlebug folder and then raised a few of them with pop dots.  I added some thick twine to use as strings and then tied it with the red twine.  A simple sentiment from Sarah’s store and the card is finished.  The edge embossing was done with my Scor-Buddy.  Just a nice touch I think.  I hope you enjoy this card and don’t forget to head over to the challenge blog to play along for that great prize this week from Handy Hippo!

This card is entered into the following challenges:

A Floral Thank You with Sarah Hurley

So today’s marks my debut as part of the Sarah Hurley DT. Our theme this week is Flowers…
Without further adieu here is mine… (shout out to Lori Padberg.  It was one of her creations that inspired mine.  I loved the simple look of it)
I used some digital paper & sentiment from Sarah’s line which can be found here.

The flower is from my stash and I just inked it up a bit with some red ink.  I did some die cutting as well for the flowers and used the spellbinders to showcase the flower.  And of course some embossing using the fleur de lis embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  A really simple card but I quite like it.  Make sure you stop by the Sarah Hurley challenge blog to get your own flower entries in!  We can’t wait to see them!

Lovely Lady

Welcome to Monday! It’s challenge day at The Crazy Challenge and this week, we’re looking for all the lovely ladies out there!  I must be on a vintage kick, which for me is surprising, because I never really thought of myself as the vintage type..anyway, here is my card.

The image is downloaded from the internet (I really wish I had a stash of vintage images from a book or something). The music sheet is left over from a Tim Holtz Christmas Tag..it was printed out onto vellum and then inked and distressed to give it a vintagy feel.  The bling, pearl strand, ribbons and flowers are all from my stash.

Make sure you stop by the Crazy Challenge Blog to check out all the details on this week’s challenge.  We’re being sponsored by Hobbismo and there is a great prize to be won!

I’ve entered into the following challenges:

Coloring on the Lollipop

Our challenge for you this week at the Lollipop Crafts challenge blog is to color with your favorite medium..maybe its Copics, maybe its Prismamarkers, maybe it’s paint…we’re being sponsored this week by LJL Designs this week who have a great prize for the winner..digi images AND a digi paper pack!

So here’s this week’s DT card

I used my Tim Holtz distress inks to color this time..I love my copics, but I just love coloring with my inks and my waterbrush too!  The DP was just from my stash as were the flowers and glass balls that I used.  The heart brads I have had forever and finally found a card to use them on.

I hope you enjoy the card and don’t forget to stop by the blog to check out this week’s challenge details and to see the other inspiration from the DT …don’t forget to leave them some love, especially today of all days!

It’s a Love challenge at Sarah Hurley

Okay…so there is a challenge up at Sarah Hurley Challenge blog where I am the guest designer this month.  My theme for the challenge this week is Love, Be my Valentine….

Here is my DT card this week

I used some of Sarah’s great heart & fleur de lis paper as well as her Queen of Hearts image from her Wonderland CD..very cute.. I cut the image out using my Cuttlebug and my nesties as well as the matching red piece which I then ran thru my heart embossing folder.   I cut the LOVE out using my cricut and the flowers and pearls are from my stash… The big red chipboard heart is from Kiki-Art…

I hope you like it, and don’t forget to stop by the challenge blog to get the deets on this week’s challenge

Lollipop’s Anything but a Card

Oh man! I am so embarrased!  I missed my first posting as a new Lollipop girl! I do apologize to you all!  So the theme this week is Anything but a Card…a bit out of the box for me as I always make cards, or at least tags.  The new Design Team is making their debut this week! Our sponsor this week is Meljen Designs…I’m sure you have seen her images everywhere! She even has a fabulous freebie section here

I love here stuff and was so excited to be using them for this challenge.  Make sure you stop by the Lollipop Blog to check out all the fabulous DT creations as well as to link up your project to win some great images from Meljen!

So I decided to do something even different and went with this bookmark.  I actually made it for my mom as part of a pay it forward swap on Facebook….it’s what she wanted..LOL  I just love this grump image and I know I’m going to be doing a lot more with it!

Not a lot going on here.  I embossed the bookmark with the clockworks folder and used one of my border punches.  The DP down the centre was just from my stash and I used a border punch for that as well.  I cut the image out with my nesties, colored it with copics and added some chalk.  I also added a bunch of stickles to make him pop some more.  The little READ book is from my cricut cartridge and the flower from my stash.    A little fibre to top it off!

Have a great day everyone, and make sure you stop by the Lollipop Crafts blog on Thursday for the sponsor spotlight, where I have a card that I created using this guy again!

This bookmark is in the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion: Anything Goes

Karber: Inspired by a book (I hope this counts as it was inspired by all books!)

Corrosive Challenge: Orange, Red & Yellow (I’ve got just a bit of red in my fibre there)

Lots of Love

That is our theme for this week’s challenge on the Crazy Challenge.  I’m sure many of you are still doing Valentines so this is a perfect challenge for you.  You can find the deets here.

Now I loved those Vintage Valentine tags that I was doing and posted about yesterday, that I decided to incorporate one into a card for this challenge.  The valentine part is the same as the rest in that it is cut with the cricut, heat embossed with a script stamp altho it’s hard to see on this one, and then the cliparts are distressed and given that vintage feel.  The embellies are just lots of little bits from my stash.  I adhered it to a simple Kraft cardstock and then I added some glimmer mist to the bast to vintage it up a bit.  I also added some bling and ribbon to the base as well. Enjoy and don’t forget to enter our challenge by clicking the link above.  You have a chance to win some fun images from Hobbismo!
