viva las vegas

Happy Tuesday.  We have a new challenge at Use It Tuesday for you this week.   With the theme of punch out we would like you to use your punches and/or dies.

I have a layout for you this week.  It’s actually a re-purposed one.  I had done it a few years ago and then decided I didn’t like it.  So I redid it for this challenge.  I used a punch to make the film strip for the pictures.  The stickers were from the original layout as well.  I am not sure who the paper is by as it is from my stash.

It’s a Boy

Happy Friday! So happy it’s the weekend, even if I don’t really have anything planned.

Just sharing with you our new challenge at Creative Corner Challenges this week.  Our last one for February hosted by Tina.  Next month I will be hosting the challenges and offering some great weekly prizes so make sure you check in each week.

A super easy challenge this week, we just want to see some designer paper on your project.  It can be old, new, one or two.  Head over to the blog to link up and to see what the DT has for you this week.

Here is mine for you this week, a cute little baby card.

DP

Since I am on a buying freeze right now, everything on this card is from my stash.  The paper is sooo old.  It is from Hot off The Press’s 8×8 baby kit.  The image was from a swap I did ages ago and the sentiment sticker I’ve had for ages.  It was fun to make a 5×5 card this time instead of my usual 4.25×5.5.  I hope you like it.

Today I am highlighting Snow buddy which is a really cute image.  I am using the colored image for today’s card and pairing it with the A Touch of Christmas Sentiments.  I hope you like it.

An Autumn Thank you -UIT Challenge #41

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It was Thanksgiving over here in Canada on Monday so it was a busy weekend for my family as I had 2 dinners to attend as well as my youngest brother’s wedding on Saturday.  This whole weekend seems like a big party! LOL

For many of us, autumn is well and truly here.  So, we have a great challenge for you at Use it Tuesday this week.  We are falling into fall and would love to see your Fall Creations!  It can be anything that fall inspires you with, the rich colors, the celebrations, the activities….all we ask is that you use your hoarded supplies to create with and let us know what they are when you post.

Here is my card for you today.

I’m sure you recognize the paper from another card I did. This MME paper is great for fall projects, lots of rich colors.  I used some more of the American Crafts pumpkin ribbon.  The leaves were cut out using my little leaf punches and then the pumpkins and gate were from a die cut swap I did ages ago.  The sentiment is from a Stampin up set that has a matching punch.  I’ve used the punch before but not the stamp set so really loving paring the two together.

I just love the autumn feel of this card! :)

Please stop by the blog to see the rest of the inspiration the girls have for you this week and to enter our challenge! We can’t wait to see what you create!

Kindness Matters

So I wanted to share with you a card I created for a swap on Swap-Bot.com.  The theme is butterflies.  I used my Basic Grey Ambrosia 6×6 and the Kindness Matters stamp set from Stampin Up.  The ink colors are from Stampin Up as well Really Rust and Crushed Curry.

I have to mail this out so I couldn’t add a lot of embellishments on it, which I think is fine because the DP has such a pattern to it.

Entered into the following challenges:

Ohh La La Crafts: Make it Girly

Tammy’s Scrapin Corner: for the girls

A world of Good Wishes

I am hosting this week’s card challenge on the Club CK forum.  My challenge, a black and white only card.  I am seriously on a black and white kick right now.  So this is the card that I made.  I made about 4 versions of this one actually.   2 to give away in a swapbot exchange and then 2 to sell at my craft fairs in November :)

A simple card.  I embossed the white piece and then using my Spellbinders, cut out a couple of circles for the sentiment.  A few die cut butterflies and some ribbon.  The black butterfly was heat embossed using some white embossing powder and my french script wood stamp.

Entered into the following challenges:

Meljen Designs: Use a ribbon

For the Bride

Hello everyone! I hope that you’ve all had a fabulous Christmas! Mine was great, moreso because my parents were here from Kamloops to spend Christmas with the family for the first time in 15 years!  It was a whirlwind few days but we were all so happy to have them here!

Well it’s the last challenge for 2010 at AiFactory.  We’ve got a lovely digital set up for grabs this week.  It’s called Ella the flower girl and I just love it!

This week’s theme is ELEGANCE.  So however you want to interpret that into your card.  It could be an elegant wedding card, or birthday card, or thinking of you.

I did a bridal shower card myself.  With my own 5th anniversary next week, I was remembering way back when I was excited to be a new bride and celebrating my wedding.  The excitement of my bridal shower only a few weeks before and how my DH and I have celebrated every anniversary since then with a trip to Cuba! (We leave on the 15th on Jan ;) )

I found this envelope from a B&W swap that I did on a yahoo group ages ago and so I wanted to start using it.  Thus my card is mainly black and white with just a bit of color. (forgive my thumb..the card front is cut in half so it doesn’t sit properly like a normal card)

The black paper on the inside of the card is actually floral embossed altho it’s hard to tell.  I used some stickles on her dress for some glimmer and some $$ store pearls.  The flowers came from the stash swap and I added some stickles to the brad.  I distressed the edges of the DP and added a bit of ink here and there on some edges.  I cut the image out using my Spellbinders.  I also added a border punch to imitate some lacy edging..

I hope you will join in our challenge this week.  You have until 11:59EST on Wednesday January 5 to upload your card using the link on the challenge blog!  If you are uploading from an online gallery please us AIF061 so we can find your card.  Also if you upload your card to our online community gallery, you can win a $10 GC to our store!  Speaking of our store, we have some great images that you can use for this challenge in there as well as some freebies so make sure you check it out!

I wish you all the best for 2011 and I hope you will continue to enjoy my cards and projects.
