If Friends Were Flowers

I am really late posting this.  As I mentioned before I’ve been pretty busy with work and a sick family to deal with.

Our challenge at Creative Corner Challenges is to create a project with the theme “things with wings”

We are being sponsored this whole month by Bugaboo Stamps who is one of my personal favorites!

I colored the image with copics and added a little glitter to her wings.  The DP is from Basic Grey’s Ambrosia 6×6 paper pack just a scrap piece that was in the package.  I added some pearls, a button and twine from my stash.  I used some Tim Holtz distress inks to dress it up a bit.  I hope you enjoy it and be sure to stop by the blog to see the other DT creations and also enter this week’s challenge.

Entered into these challenges:

Merry Christmas

Hello All!  Back to the creative grind again after a successful weekend at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival.  I got a lot accomplished in terms of new Christmas Cards for my upcoming craft fairs, had a lot of fun with my friends Kathy & Lisa and the swag bag was amazing.  I will post that a bit later.

It’s a new challenge at Use it Tuesday this week. Our theme is all about Orange…we would like you to create a project using orange in it.  It could be halloween, thanksgiving, or anything else.  In my case, it is Christmas! :)

I challenged myself to make a Christmas card with the unconventional color of Orange ..so here we go.  All the DP is from my stash.  I am thinking I have some BG Jovial in there from a couple of years ago. That tells you how long I hold onto all my paper…LOL  The image is from my image bucket and is Stampin up.  The snowflakes were originally plain chipboard and then I covered them with glitter and added bling.  The lacy ribbon and twine are from my stash as well.  I hope you enjoy it and I hope you will stop by the blog and check out all the really great projects we have for you this week.  Don’t forget to enter the challenge and be sure to let us know which stashy or hoarded items you used for your project!

Cardswaps Time to Shine blog hop

Hey everyone!  I’ve got a bit of a longer post for you today but well worth it!

In case you haven’t heard, there is an awesome crop going on over at Card Swaps this week. Challenges and games will be posted May 16-19, 2012 and you have until May 22, 2012 to get your projects posted to the appropriate thread. Don’t worry if you’ve not participated before, as there are many members that will be around to offer support and encouragement. Everything you need to know can be found  in the forum.  At the end of the hop,  you will be taken to the crop and we do hope you’ll join in. As you hop, collect the letter on each participants blog and unscramble them to enter into the drawing for a prize for one lucky hopper! You will be given details at the bottom of my post.

You will be unscrambling a word with a letter received at each blog you visit.. Once you collect ALL the letters, the last hostess in the blog hop will direct you to the thread in the forum where you can find all the details you need to enter the drawing. All hoppers collecting all the letters, unscrambling the word or phrase, entering the game by following the directions in the forum, and leaving feedback on EVERY blog they visit WILL be entered in to a random drawing held on May 23, 2012. ONE lucky hopper will have their name drawn and will win a prize!! So, make sure you visit every blog and find the letters. There are just so many chances to enter and win

The blog hop “theme” goes with the crop title of “Time To Shine”. We were allowed to create any project we wanted as long as it followed the criteria that it has to be able to be used for a day in which someone has their “time to shine”, such as birthdays, graduations, weddings, bridging ceremonies, communions, or whatever. Not only were we asked to create a project but we were also asked to share something about our favorite memory of a day when it was our “time to shine”.

Today I have for you this cute 50th anniversary card that I created for my in-laws anniversary.  I think 50 years together is remarkable and I can only imagine how many time to shine days they have had during those years.

Almost everything used to create this card is from my stash or a swap.  As you know I’m desperately trying to use up all the massive amount of supplies that I already have.  The DP was sent to me in a swap as was the actual image.  I wish I knew who made it because I’d love to make some more cards with it.  The image was colored using copics and then I added some stickles for my ‘shine’.  The 5 0 was cut out using my Don Juan cartridge and then I added some chunky glitter to make it stand out.  The ribbon is American Crafts (I am so into their ribbon right now!) and the pearls are just from my stash.  The sentiment is from my stash as well.

One of my favorite TIME TO SHINE days was my 30th birthday.  I was living in Red Deer away from my family and friends as I had been transferred for work.  I didn’t know anyone and I was really missing my friends.  You can’t imagine how surprised I was when a bunch of my friends came up from Calgary to visit me to help celebrate.  They spent the whole day with me and that evening they planned a surprise birthday party for me at a favorite club that I went to.  For that whole day I was a queen.  Everyone paid attention to me and my friends made it the best birthday party ever!  I have never had another birthday like it, and honestly, I doubt that I ever will again. Although it was my day to shine, I think my friends shared in the spotlight.

Now, you should have arrived here from Laura’s blog.  If not, go back and check out her blog and collect your letter. Then collect my letter and hop on.  I’ve posted the blog hop list at the bottom of this post, just in case you get lost!

NOW THE LETTER YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR FROM ME IS “L”

thanks for stopping by and HAVE FUN ON THE REST OF THE HOP!  You are heading over to Carolyn’s blog next.

Kiss Me

Hello all! Happy Feburary.  Hard to believe it is here already.  My birthday is on Saturday so I am looking forward to celebrating with friends and family.  Of course Valentine’s Day is just around the corner as well.

Today’s sponsor spotlight for Lollipop Crafts is on Meljen’s Designs

so I used one of her great images to make this Valentine’s Day card for my Secret Pal….

The DP is just some scraps that I had in my Valentine’s box of things I’ve collected over the last little bit to make Valentine’s day Cards so I don’t know who it’s by.  The stamp set is from Stampin-Up.  I colored the image with my copics and then went over it with some fun red stickles to gloss it up!  It had to be a simple card otherwise it would cost so much to mail.  I hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to stop by the blog and check out the other great inspiration pieces from my team this week!

Entered into these challenges:

Crafting for All Seasons: Love is in the Air

Creative Belli blog: Hearts/Valentine

And so the 12 days begin

Well scrappers, you know it’s ’tis the season when Tim Holtz starts his 12 Tags of Christmas! Here it  is Season 5 or is it 6..anyway…today is day 1.

So here is the tag that Tim came up with …I didn’t have a lot of what he did, but I was able to ‘improvise’ a lot and still come out with a great tag.  My only ugh is that I think I used a bit too much of the white paint/stickles on the greenery… My favorite part is the banner.  I didn’t have any music stamps so I found some vintage music sheets on the ‘net and printed it off onto some Kraft cardstock and then added some Vintage Photo DI to it.  A little distressing and voila!   Also didn’t have the pinecone die so I used one of my flower dies instead and I think it worked alright :)

Stay tuned tomorrow for the next one.  It goes live on Tim’s blog in a couple of hours but I’ll be asleep by then :)   Catch it in the morning…it’s like opening up my advent calendar each day :)

Jingle Bells

Hey everyone! I am a day behind for this post.  It’s a new challenge at The Poodles Parlour.  We are being sponsored this week by Glitterbabe Digis! Such cute images!

Here is my card for this week.  I bought these little jingle bells at the $$ store and just had to start using them!

The DP is by MME (The Merry Days of Christmas).  I colored the image with my copics and then cut it out with my nestibilities.  I added some glitter to the wings.  The twine is from Whisker Graphics and then the bell from the $$ store.  I hope you enjoy it!

Happy Holidays

Happy Monday! Ahh the start to another week.  I’m living for Friday right now as I am going to the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival here in Calgary and CANNOT wait! It’s going to be awesome! I’m also taking a photography course from the awesome Allison Orthner!  It is going to be a blast! If you haven’t already got a ticket I believe there are still some available for the basic crop and you can also buy tix for the marketplace which I know is going to be phenomenal!

Anway..on to this week’s new challenge from Lollipop Crafts.  A fun one to be sure–anything but a card…time to work on those layouts, altered items, 3D items, tags and whatever else you can think of.

I am currently hard at work doing Christmas cards/tags for my upcoming craft fair so I have a tag to share with you this week.

Made from some scraps I have, I used the Simply Charmed cricut cartridge for the ornament.  I added some chunky glitter as well as some felt snowflakes and a few red pearls for a pop of color.  I really like this one and think I’ll make more of him..goodness knows I have tonz to make.

Make sure you stop by our blog and play to win from our great sponsor Robyn’s Fetish this week!

Color Me Green

Good day everyone!  It’s Monday so a new Lollipop Crafts challenge for you this week.  I am hosting and my theme this week is Monochromatic! I love the look of varying shades of the same color.  Mine of course is green. It has to be green.

This week we are being sponsored by Stitchy Bear Designs.

Really cute images! We’ll have more on them on Thursday for our Sponsor Spotlight.

Here is my card this week.

I colored the image using my copics.  The DP is just some scraps that I had.  I used a bit of a border punch, a flower (to which I added some glitter), a button, some ribbon (Savvy n Sassy) and a ticket that was originally beige and I just inked it green.   I cut the leaf out using my cricut. A little paper piercing and distressing to add some texture and voila!  I hope you  like it

Don’t forget to head over to the blog and enter for your chance to win.  I look forward to seeing what you create.

I’m so excited

I have been asked to be the guest designer for June at CRAFT YOUR PASSION!.

I want to thank them for this great opportunity and I am very excited to be joining them this month.

So today is the first Monday of the month and that means that it is an anything goes challenge!  Who doesn’t love those!  Create what you want and show it off.  All of the challenge details including prizes can be found here.   So for my first challenge with CYP, I am using a great image from Lauretta.  If you remember about a year or so back, I created a card with the saying ‘a true friend tells you about the toilet paper stuck to your shoe’.  I really love this saying and I totally know that my BFF would not only tell me, she would probably try and pick it up herself..LOL  When I saw this image, that saying was the first thing that popped into my mind to put with it.

I used some scraps of the Bo Bunny Gabrielle that I had left over from a layout that I did for Scrapbook Your Heart.  I inked the image with some distress ink and then I colored it with my Copics, followed by some bling action in the form of my stickles and glitter.  The ribbon (Savvy n Sassy) and pearls are from my stash and the toilet paper is well, from my bathroom :) and I attached it with some adhesive.  I hope that you enjoy my card and don’t forget to join us at Craft Your Passion with your own creation.  The rest of the design team has created some fantastic inspiration pieces for you so you don’t want to miss out on that!

I’ve entered this card into the following challenges:

The Emerald Faerie GardenChallenge: lots of bling

Paper Sundaes: Let’s get Sentimental

Sentimental Sundays: Inspired by a Song (Old Brown Shoe by the Beatles)

Crafty Emma: Clean and Simple

Wee Memories: Anything Goes

Card Makin Mamas: Use your Sraps

Frosted Designs: Celebrating Friends and Friendship
