Lollipop Crafts Celebration Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

“It’s time for a CELEBRATION!!!  Lollipop Crafts is celebrating their ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY and you are sweetly invited to join the fun!
First of all, we are back from summer break with our weekly challenge.  The theme this week is CELEBRATION!  Create a card/project with a celebration theme (ex. birthday, anniversary, wedding, new baby, graduation, etc)  We all have something to celebrate right?  It is the first challenge of the month and that means we are sponsored this week by Meljen’s Designs.
One lucky random challenge player this week will win a fantastic prize.  Be sure to link your creations with InLinkz on the LC blog for a chance.  Check out the challenge rules too!
Secondly, it wouldn’t be a celebration without some FUN!  Join in on our Anniversary blog hop!  You have until tomorrow (Tuesday at midnight PST) to visit and comment on each DT member’s blog.  Make sure you visit each of us because their are hidden prizes (the DT doesn’t even know who has the prizes).  Winners will be announced on Wednesday.  List of blog hop sponsors can be found on the LC blog and the master blog hop order is there too!
You should have arrived here from Kim’s  blog.  If you hopped here by chance, please head over to Lollipop Crafts and begin your journey there.
Using Meljen’s Bunbun image (this is so adorable) I created this cute little birthday card.  One can never have enough birthday cards in my opinion.

The DP is from Bazill (Grandma’s Feather Bed).  The image is colored with copics with just a hint of paper piecing with the party hat and cupcake.   I also added just a bit of stickles as well.  The ribbon is from my stash and I cut the balloons out using my Celebrations cartridge and then ran them through the cuttlebug with the polkadots folder.  Since my FB win with Whisker Graphics, I’ve been using a lot of their baker’s twine which I incorporated here for the balloon strings.  The sentiment is a stamp set from Hot Off the Press.  I hope you like it!

Now it’s time for you to hop on over to  Zulma’s  blog  to see what she has created for you and don’t forget to leave her some some sugar!!”

It’s a new challenge at Sarah Hurley this week, and we are excited because we are lucky enough to be sponsored by Handy Hippo! Their website has lots of information on crafting techniques, plus a great selection of free card project ideas to suit crafters of all abilities so please pop over and visit them!
They chose a theme of Embossing this week and have given us some embossing folders as a prize! There will be 3 for the winner and one each for 2nd and 3rd place. You can see them on their website here

Here is my card for this week’s challenge

I used some of Sarah’s digital papers for the balloons (which can be found in the store here.  I embossed the balloons using the Houndstooth Cuttlebug folder and then raised a few of them with pop dots.  I added some thick twine to use as strings and then tied it with the red twine.  A simple sentiment from Sarah’s store and the card is finished.  The edge embossing was done with my Scor-Buddy.  Just a nice touch I think.  I hope you enjoy this card and don’t forget to head over to the challenge blog to play along for that great prize this week from Handy Hippo!

This card is entered into the following challenges:

It’s a Lace thing

Good morning everyone!  It’s challenge day at Lollipop Crafts and this week it’s all about the lace!  Such a pretty dainty thing and we’d like to see what you can do with it on your projects.  It can be actual lace, lace punches, lacy borders whatever you can come up with.  All of the deets can be found on our challenge blog so please stop by and enter.  I can’t wait to see what you create and the design team as well as our two guest designers this month have created some gorgeous projects for you!

So here is my dainty little piece.

I have no idea why I decided to do a Christmas card.  I think it’s because I had that embossed piece of cardstock and really wanted to use it up.  I had seen an all white card in a magazine I picked up recently and loved the look of it so I knew I wanted to try that as well.  So this is what I came up with.  The cardstock is embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  The lace is actually cut off from a big sheet of it that I found when I was cleaning my scrap area.  I have no idea where it was from.  The sentiment is Stampin Up and the big glittered snowflake and the smaller one are from my big stash box of Christmas stuff.  I hope you like it. The ribbon is just from my stash as well.

I’ve entered into the following challenges….

Creative Cowgirls: Monochromatic

Let’s Ink It Up: Embossing and no Digis

Paper Sundaes: Keep it Simple

Our Creative Corner: use fabric (ribbon doesn’t count)

Simply Create: monochromatic

A Floral Thank You with Sarah Hurley

So today’s marks my debut as part of the Sarah Hurley DT. Our theme this week is Flowers…
Without further adieu here is mine… (shout out to Lori Padberg.  It was one of her creations that inspired mine.  I loved the simple look of it)
I used some digital paper & sentiment from Sarah’s line which can be found here.

The flower is from my stash and I just inked it up a bit with some red ink.  I did some die cutting as well for the flowers and used the spellbinders to showcase the flower.  And of course some embossing using the fleur de lis embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  A really simple card but I quite like it.  Make sure you stop by the Sarah Hurley challenge blog to get your own flower entries in!  We can’t wait to see them!

I’ve entered into the following challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge Blog: diecuts

Creative Craft Challenge: thank you

Desert Island Crafters: use 3 items from the itinerary ( 2PP, distressing, inspired by nature)

Gingerloft: Flowers

Do You Stack Up: Layers

Card Swaps, St. Paddy’s & Ugly

Okay..so on the Anything Goes group on Paper Craft Planet, I signed up for a St. Patrick’s day swap and an Ugly Swap (for those of you not familiar, an Ugly swap is when you send your partner the ugliest paper & embellies you can find, they don’t have to match and the other person has to make a card from them).  One of my fave swaps!  So without further adieu..here is the kit that I got for my ugly swap

And here is the card that I made.  Luckily my pal gave me a few pieces to choose from so I got to pick the lesser of the evils

And now for the St. Paddy’s day ones

My kit from Josie

My card

My kit from Georgette

and my card

I had a lot of fun putting these together.  It’s always fun to challenge your creativity when you are limited to what someone else sends you.  If you haven’t done a swap yet, I highly recommend it.  Come join us over at Anything Goes..we do them all the time!

It’s a Love challenge at Sarah Hurley

Okay…so there is a challenge up at Sarah Hurley Challenge blog where I am the guest designer this month.  My theme for the challenge this week is Love, Be my Valentine….

Here is my DT card this week

I used some of Sarah’s great heart & fleur de lis paper as well as her Queen of Hearts image from her Wonderland CD..very cute.. I cut the image out using my Cuttlebug and my nesties as well as the matching red piece which I then ran thru my heart embossing folder.   I cut the LOVE out using my cricut and the flowers and pearls are from my stash… The big red chipboard heart is from Kiki-Art…

I hope you like it, and don’t forget to stop by the challenge blog to get the deets on this week’s challenge

Thursday Goings on

Well a few things to tell you today…

It’s a new challenge over at AIF.  I don’t have a card for you today…I’ve been really busy this week with work and with Riley that I haven’t had a chance.  I hope to get one done this weekend.  It’s a Valentine’s Day/Love theme so for those of you still making Valentine cards, it’s right up your alley…

Make sure you check out the challenge blog for all the deets and…there’s a freebie there for you as well.

Also head on over to the Lollipop Crafts site and check out the Sponsor Spotlight, which this week is Meljen’s Designs..love her work and she has a bunch of freebies that you just have to pick up..they are adorable!!!

Here is the card that I created for the spotlight..I just love this guy..remember you saw him a couple of days ago on my tag

I just made this card with some scraps, a border punch and some buttons.  The sentiment is Create with TLC.. colored with copics and some chalk to highlight.

Lollipop’s Anything but a Card

Oh man! I am so embarrased!  I missed my first posting as a new Lollipop girl! I do apologize to you all!  So the theme this week is Anything but a Card…a bit out of the box for me as I always make cards, or at least tags.  The new Design Team is making their debut this week! Our sponsor this week is Meljen Designs…I’m sure you have seen her images everywhere! She even has a fabulous freebie section here

I love here stuff and was so excited to be using them for this challenge.  Make sure you stop by the Lollipop Blog to check out all the fabulous DT creations as well as to link up your project to win some great images from Meljen!

So I decided to do something even different and went with this bookmark.  I actually made it for my mom as part of a pay it forward swap on Facebook….it’s what she wanted..LOL  I just love this grump image and I know I’m going to be doing a lot more with it!

Not a lot going on here.  I embossed the bookmark with the clockworks folder and used one of my border punches.  The DP down the centre was just from my stash and I used a border punch for that as well.  I cut the image out with my nesties, colored it with copics and added some chalk.  I also added a bunch of stickles to make him pop some more.  The little READ book is from my cricut cartridge and the flower from my stash.    A little fibre to top it off!

Have a great day everyone, and make sure you stop by the Lollipop Crafts blog on Thursday for the sponsor spotlight, where I have a card that I created using this guy again!

This bookmark is in the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion: Anything Goes

Karber: Inspired by a book (I hope this counts as it was inspired by all books!)

Corrosive Challenge: Orange, Red & Yellow (I’ve got just a bit of red in my fibre there)
