Pretty in Pink

Happy Friday! So glad for the weekend.  It’s a long weekend here in Canada but since I’m working and DH is on call, it’s not really a celebration for us.

It does mean that we are celebrating a new challenge at Creative Corner Challenges this week.  Our challenge for you~ Inspired by a Song~.  This is one of my favorite challenges…..I chose a song that is also one of my favorite movies as well PRETTY IN PINK

Our challenge at Creative Corner Challenges is to create a project with the theme “things with wings”

We are being sponsored this whole month by Bugaboo Stamps who is one of my personal favorites!

Dreams

Hi Everyone! Another quick post today for our challenge at Creative Corner Challenges.

It’s been so busy with work and my son ill again (an infection in his finger this time and some visits to the doctor and chiropracter to help with a gait issue) that it’s amazing I’ve had time to craft this week!

Our challenge is Clean and Simple also known as CAS.  This is a challenge to use less and less embellishments and papers on your project.  The least amount the better.  This is always a challenge for me because I love to embellish.  However, I am thrilled with how this card turned out.  I used a sketch in the March/April issue of Papercrafts magazine  and its just a fabulous one.

002 (2)

I just used a couple of scraps of paper in my basket and the butterflies were sent to me in a swap.  They were regular corrugated cardboard and I misted them with my smooch spritzes!  The pearls are from my stash and the sentiment is K Andrew Designs

I hope you like it.  Please stop by the blog to see the other DT creations and also to join in on the challenge this week.

Happy Crafting and Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Owl Card

Yay! It’s Friday!  That doesn’t really mean that much to me, since I work weekends and shift work so I don’t have a weekend in the traditional sense, but hey! I’m excited for you if that’s how you roll :)

It’s a brand new challenge for you at Creative Corner Challenges this week.  Let’s think outside the box and come up with some unusually shaped cards..anything but square or the traditional rectangle.  The DT has some great inspiration for you on the blog this week.

Here’s mine!

002

I decided to break out my Wild Card Cartridge and one of my favorite ones on it is the Owl.  So I cut it out usual some Basic Grey Nook and Pantry paper.  I’ve had it forever in my stash!  I then added just some stickles for definition because that paper is pretty loud…LOL

It’s just a simple card because I am sending it out in the mail for an RAK so it can’t have a lot of embellishments on it.  I hope you like it.

Stay tuned because we’ve got some changes coming up in May on the blog.  Fun Fun Changes. :)

Rainbows

Happy Friday everyone! The ending of another week..woohooo!!  We have a new challenge at Creative Corner Challenges.  It’s all about Rainbows.  You can have an actual rainbow, rainbow colors or however you wish to interpret it as long as we can see how the rainbow is represented in your project.

Here’s the fun card I made this week.

rainbow1

I inked teh background just using some Tim Holtz  Faded Denim distress ink and a cloud die cut.  The rainbow is from the Simply Charmed cricut cartridge.  The sentiment is MFT.

Make you stop by the blog and check out the other DT inspiration for you this week and to join in our challenge.

Entered into these challenges:

the elephant challenge: spring colors

moving along with the times: inspired by a song or film (somewhere over the rainbow)

the squirrel and the fox: inspired by a song or film (somewhere over the rainbow)

7 kids college fund: anything goes

2 sisters challenge blog: anything goes

A Sticky Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It has been a long week in my house as my son has been sick again.  He just got over his ear infection and then he got hand/foot/mouth disease.  He’s been cooped up inside for awhile now and he’s going stir crazy and so is his mama! :)

We have a great new challenge for you at Use It Tuesday this week.  It’s a Sticky situation when we want you to use the sticky parts of your stash…those rub-ons (oh do I have a lot of those), embossing powders and stickers (everyone has some in their stash, I know it!)..or anything else that sticks….

I created this card using some Glubbers…I bought them 2 years ago when they first came out and never once used them!  I also used a couple of different rub ons for this card in the sentiment and the little stitches.  I also broke out my glue gun and used it to adhere the bling to the flower! I’m now using my glue gun for EVERYTHING! LOL

The DP is the last of my MME All Spice 6×6 pack.  Another one bites the dust…I am so happy I am finally using them up!   The ribbon and the bling flower are from my stash as well.  I got the sketch for this card from Andrea Walford’s blog .  Every week she comes out with a great sketch that is easy to do and has step by step instruction.  Love them!  Thanks Andrea!

Make sure you stop by the UIT blog to see the wicked inspiration we have for you this week.  There are some great sticky bits in our stashes this week. :)

Entered into these challenges:

Card Mania Challenge: Punches and/or die cuts

Crafty Catz: anything goes (and a GDT call)

Clear it out:  spring & flowers (must use stash items)

Papertake Weekly: anything goes (bonus use kraft)

Girly Girl

Hi everyone! This post is going to be short and sweet unfortunately.  I’ve got sick son and sick husband for the last few days and just so much to do around the house on top of work! I barely have time to breathe let alone craft!

We have a new challenge at Creative Corner Challenges…it’s a Girly Birthday in celebration of Mel’s birthday! :)  Be sure to stop by the blog to check out the DT inspiration this week and also when you enter, if you want to be a Guest Designer, make sure you put GD by your name! We’d love to have you.

003

The DP came from a flat paper swap I did recently on swap-bot.  The image is from my image box and all the rest of the embellishments (flowers, brads, pearls, ribbon) are from my stash.  I really liked the colors on this one.  I hope you like it to.

Happy Crafting!

Life is made of Moments

Morning all.  I have a new card for you for our Anything Goes challenge at Creative Corner Challenges this week.

003

I used a new Stampin Up set that I got, it’s Serene Silhouettes.  I did some dry embossing for the black background.  The sentiment is done in heat embossing.  Just some bling and twine and ribbon from my stash.  A pretty simple card.  Make sure you stop by the blog and check out the rest of the DT inspiration pieces for you.

A bright sunshiny day

That unfortunately does not seem to be something that we are going to have here in Calgary today.  It’s still a bit cloudy and cool today.  The last vestiges of winter are still lingering around.  I wish they would just go already.

Today’s challenge at Use it Tuesday is All About Spring.  It’s time to break out the flowers, the bright colors, the sunshine, all the good stuff.  As always you need to use up some of your stash so make sure you let us know in your post what you used.

I finally have used up all of the Lil Sprout collection by Crate Paper so here is my final project.  The stamp set is one from my stash that I don’t use enough by My Favorite Things.  It comes with its own sentiment as well.  I just used my spellbinders and inked it up with some Tim Holtz ink.  The bling is from my stash as well. I hope you like it.
